Excuses.
I just want to see if Nostradamus is wrong. If he is, I'll laugh. If he isn't, I'll be mildly surprised.

The Polish Military and Civilian leadership has been crippled, as the aircraft carrying the leaders of the Polish Army, Navy and Airforce, the president, his wife, the president of the Polish central bank and several key members of the Senat and Sejm crashed near the Smolensk airport.

What's left of the Polish government is holding an emergency meeting, and the Marshal of the Sejm, Bronislaw Konorowski has taken the president's position according to the Polish order of succesion.

96 people were on the plane, mostly important figures in the polish government, and none of them has survived.

Yeah I heard about that. Wonder whats going to happen now. It's like the entire country just collapsed in a few minutes. People here are already wondering if Russia is going to wonder in again.
Bet there will be conspiracy theories or something stupid.

Yes... Russia is going to wander straight into a NATO country... Without being mobilized...

I doubt it... But i bet some people are going to say it was russia that shot him down, or sabotaged his aircraft. He was quite a big opponent to communism, and is one of the reasons Poland is in the EU and NATO.

Yeah, I don't think Russia will do anything either. They have'nt got the balls to go against NATO. But there are going to be a lot of people suspecting them. The fact that they keep sending bombers to fly right by the UKs airspace is also going to make them look even more suspicious.

Ah. When I last looked, it wasn't certain if all perished or not. See, this is why the government in Britain never travels in one block.

I doubt Russia had anything to do with it. The plane was built twenty years ago by the Soviets.

I can't believe it, to be honest. An old plane with previous problems filled to the brim with the most important people in Poland flies low and ignores the air traffic order to use another airport. How can this be possible?

I know, it's just stupid. I've heard of jokes about Polish people intelligence, but I never expected them to do something as stupid as that.
I just hope that this doesnt turn into another country that is ruled by a dictator like Hitler.

wait and see lets what happens in latest disaster, i say we don't jump to conclusions for all we know it be a random accident or a horrific event to crush the polish government. Those poor people though just going a trip and bam... now they're most likely dead...

I feel a bit of randomness (random picked word) in that post... Cause they're actually dead!

And yeah... Poland wouldn't screw life to anyone... Worst thing it would happen was if NK did managed to influence them, but I doubt it... Russia would, but it happens that they're in nice terms with NATO...

I wouldn't say nice terms, more along the lines of a mutual agreement to not shoot eachother.
NK poses no threat over the situation in Poland. And against their nature, Russia wont do anything either. The most likely thing to happen is either the EU, UN or NATO help them get back up off their feet and reastablish their government.
Wonder if Germany is going to invade again...

And Germany is in EU, so... I doubt that...

Wouldn't be the first time Germany ignored rules and invaded Poland.
And I doubt Poland is going to be down for long. Right now they are vulnerable, but thats where the alliances they joined come in. If this happened to somewhere like Japan or China, it would be a lot different.

Come on, Poland isn't destroyed because 90 people died.
It's a sad day, but their main politician, Donald Tusk, didn't die. Most of the people on the plane were old dignitaries who didn't feature in the government.
Sure, the top of the armed forces are dead, but they can be replaced. I'm sure the top 5 or 6 in each force were briefed on all emergency protocol

Thats the way it generally is. Here at least. They might work differently over there, but they most likely did have some kind of backup plan for if this kind of thing happened.

And it looks like Russia and Poland have become far closer because of this.

A gigantic ash cloud is currently hovering over northern Europe. All north European flights have been cancelled, and exactly how long this ash cloud will last is currently uncertain. However, Sweden will gradually be opening it's airspace again, starting with Norrland (the northern region of sweden) and, hopefully, Svea and Göta later today.

The ash cloud was caused by a volcano going off in iceland. The volcano was under a glacier, which now has melted and caused thousands of iceland citizens to evacuate their homes.

We have clear blue skies here. It's basically just extra extra extra proportions.

It's a little cloudy here, but these are normal clouds. Not volcanic doom dust clouds or anything. It's too far up in the atmosphere for us to see.

Well the thing about our weather is that a huge gloomy dust cloud would be an improvement.

It's too bad I don't know anyone that just came out of a coma, cause then I'd tell them it was nuclear fallout from the alien wars.

I could get them to watch Cloverfield, and then tell them that it was real.

As the dust cloud continues to close European airspace, KLM has done a test flight with one of their jet liners to see if the dust cloud is as dangerous as believed. The jet flew as far up as possible and returned without any damage at all. Lufthansa is now sending up 10 test flights, and the results from those tests will return soon.

The airlines are hoping to resume their normal flights if the tests return positive. If they do not, or if they are not allowed to, the cloud will close Europe's airpsace at least until monday, and it is very likely that it will be even longer than that.

So, that means that the travel the Portuguese President is making by land (from Poland to Portugal) is useless, and he could wait a little longuer? xD

A TV presenter for the big football review program travelled from the Canarias to London to present the show. It took him 24 hours, arriving 2 hours before the program aired.
