Yeah, like our high speed is basically the modern version of dial up. Standard high speed is usually ultra-high speed, but that's no available at this location, so we're just stuck with high speed with basically a 100kb/s download rate and upload rate is maybe 60kb/s

Wow you should get Sky to come to Canada, there Smallest Internet package is basically that, there best is 35mb. Do you have a Download Limit/Internet Allowance?

I dunno... in new zealand getting a 2Mb/s connection your doing really really well. I have that connection (not using cable.)

Your connection isn't bad at all, DW.
British ISPs mainly differentiate between their packages in respect to download limit, not download speed. Some advertise fast speeds but most of the time it is the local exchange connection that is the limiting factor.

And there has to be something outside of your house and at least mildly sociable that you don't mind doing.

New Zealand ISP's give you as much speed as they can but cap the data.
