Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
Oh, i don't know... TOS is very good, for the time... TAS is very entertaining... TNG Is great, especially for the later seasons... DS9 is good, but it hasn't the excitation of a starship... VOY is cool, but its filled with filthy clichés, and you know how colonel O'Neill (With two Ls) feels about clichés...
Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
ToS: Classic. Kirk has a trigger finger, and gotta love that.
TNG: Probably my favorite out of all of them, and like Raffitz said, the later episodes are great.
DS9: Federation at war? Love it. Not as good as TNG in my opinion, but hey... it's still Feds at war.
VOY: Oh, you've got to be kidding me... SO many plot devices. Time travel, Seven of Nine, etc. If Voyager is about to be destroyed, call in guys from the 29th century. Plus, there's that nasty episode "Threshold" which completely screws up the warp scale.
ENT- Fourth season was great, but everything else sucked. If the show was consistently good as the fourth season, it may not have been prematurely canceled. I read this somewhere else and I quote, "Even the Paramount executive couldn't keep Enterprise going."

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
Actually, if you've watched First Contact, then you know that it's completely possible. ENT didn't screw that up. However, ENT did still suck until the 4th season.

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
I don't like Enterprise... It happens before the formation of the federation, and that explains the lack of registry number, but a starship called enterprise before the ncc-1701 is a little bit , er, ... Producers' imaginations weren't in a good mood that day...
Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
Oh boy, and I suppose the HMS Enterprize and the USS Enterprise (US carrier during WWII) couldn't have been the reason why they named it Enterprise according to the show now, could it? Nope, impossible. [/sarcasm]

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
Good point. Also cloaking devices. According to ToS, they had never encountered them before. But there was a cloaked Romulan minefield...

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
That looks just about what my list looks like, Raffitz. 'Cept I don't have TAS on there at all. I find that animated versions of TV shows suck. Same thing for the animated versions of video games (Ugh... Zelda the animated series...)

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
(Zelda, the animated series? That's simply disgusting!) Well, the star trek animated series is watchable... When VIACOM sued youtube, the only thing i could watch was TAS, but then i found out better sites than youtube, (And then, they closed tv-links.co.uk and arrested the guy who made it... That was a sad day...)

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
I'll always be an original series guy. If it ain't got Kirk and Spock in it, it's just not Star Trek. My oldest memories of TV: the theme song from Hogan's Heroes, the fire burning away the map of the Ponderosa on the opening credits of Bonanza. And whole episodes of Star Trek: The Balance of Terror, Spock's Brain, The Arena . . . Then when I was four our TV blew up and we couldn't afford a new one until I was in my teens.
I liked the animated series, when I could see it (we didn't have a TV at the time). If your local affiliates weren't running Star Trek re-runs, there was no other way to get your Trek fix. Back in the late 70s there weren't even any Star Trek novels, except for the "Star Log" series that were just scripts for the animated series that never got made. And back then Filmation was the best American animators were producing - not that they could hold a candle to "Star Blazers".
DS9 had the right mix of action, drama, and comic relief. They also did some really good television like "Far Beyond the Stars" and "Trials and Tribble-ations". Though, the interior of DS9 reeaaallly needed a coat of white paint or something to lighten the mood.
TNG got better, to be frank, once Roddenberry died and the producers actually let the Enterprise use her phasers effectively.
Enterprise could have been so good but it never lived up to it's potential. When I first heard about it I was so excited: mankind's first real forays into the interstellar community, forging the relationships that won humanity enough respect to start the Federation out of the divided and fractious Alpha Quadrant.
Voyager at least had a sense of humor about itself. But when your primary draw is not a great story, but Jeri Ryan in a body suit, you've jumped the shark. I do like how they took out the Borg, tho
My most intense Star Trek memory though is from ST3. When Spock died in ST2 everyone was shocked, but everyone knew he wasn't going to stay dead. But in ST3 when the Enterprise blows up there were cries of alarm. As you watch what's left of her burning her way down through the atmosphere of the Genesis Planet, half the theater was audibly sobbing (the other half were the parents, siblings, or dates we'd drug to theater with us).

Re: WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STARTREK SHOW
ds9 was the best as it did have alot of action but it didnt really have a loight side bajor was in famine then when that was done the whole alpha quadrant was in danger from the dominoin and breen and it ends by half of humanity ended up being killed and starfleet crippled beyond repair
