Yeah, holy heck you've got it bad now. It's crazy to see a death toll of 80 in an MEDC (except the US). Is your area of the city one of the ones at risk?

Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
take a look at this:
http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=brisbane+qld&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=31.784549,56.513672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Brisbane+Queensland,+Australia&ll=-27.507053,153.021011&spn=0.277714,0.441513&z=11
look towards the west of the coast, the flood is expected to reach the suburb of oxley, i live a fair bit east of that so i think i'll be okay but ill have to wait see till tommorow

OK. If we don't hear from you, we'll presume your computer is underwater.
Also, did anyone see the 20/20 match Eng. v Aus.? My word, that was close. Fair play to Shane Watson, should be Man of the Match for his bowling and batting.

Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
OKAY, I AM OKAY!!! actually flood waters didn't even hit my house. the river peaked a few hours ago at 4.64m (the 1974 floods were 5.54m i think). Last night i went to do some voluenteer work at the two evac centers, didnt meet the PM but i did personally meet the deputy mayor, and i should be going again today. From what I saw, it really looks like brisbane dodged a bullet. I saw the river on my way back home just a few hours before the peak it was going pretty fast (its usually at an almost complete standstill) though it wasnt as high as i though it would be, then again we did pass several submerged streets on our way to the evac centers,
sadly a few more people have died, this story is inspirational
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41041996/ns/world_news-asiapacific/
thankfully, the number of missing has been cut by around 50%, unfortunately its also added to the death count
the clean up is gonna take a long while, at the evac centers eveyone was smiling, cause we're all glad that they're safe, but once realisation sinks in that they've lost everything...
oh yeah, sorry didnt watch the match, heard about it on radio while at the evac center,

Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
we've got clear skies now so the numbers are dropping as the ADF can search for people a lot easier, but i im sure the final death toll will be higher than 20,

Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
for queensland, i think so, but the recovery effort is gonna takes weeks if not months, i was down in a place called goodna a few days ago, you could tell where the water had reached by brown crap on the tress and buildings, we passed by a shell petrol station, completely ruined...
but now new south wales and victoria are starting to experience floods, and the little island state of tasmania is on flood warning
that and the aussie dolloar no longer outweighs the american

Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
Main reason is I doubt there is very little interest anymore as people (the main ones who used to play) have stated in recent months that they are no longer interested in RPs, which sadden me
Re: New General Chat Mark Infinity
I would play but unfortunately because of my +12 GMT location it makes playing well a bit of a struggle.

Nice one.Jtull wrote:it was weird at first then I looked upon the forum and saw that it was good.
Oh, and I'm too lazy for an RP. Heck, I might actually be good at it, but I don't want to take the time to make a character.
If that was out of the way, I just might do it. If I worked up the nerve...

A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, "I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment."
The husband replies, "Your eyesight's darn near perfect."
And then the fight started.....
