Part I

James walked out "I am a weapons exspert and an engineer, let me help" i started putting the laser into the rail gun slot "You know, the rail gun that used to be in this slot can be converted into a hand held rail gun" i said as i lifted the laser into place, then i pressed a button and it came online "There, it is in place and it has power, but it will be a few more hours before we can even get it to fire, and even then it wont be charged enough to do any damage, and the fireing matrix still needs to be stabilised, so dont shoot it" i said then i went back to work.

um no, there will be no hand held rail gun. Do you know anything about rail guns?

"I know that... If the railgun wasn't drifting somewhere in the empty..." Said I... "It doesn't need to pierce through any hull... We're gonna use it as a PDS..."

"A PDS?" Asked James...

"Yes, a Point-Defense System..."

"I know that... but why?"

"Remember the last engadgement we run from, most of the damage was made by incoming missiles... In this rack, we can cover fuel lines and the FTL drive... Which are essential to run away..."

(I diddnt necisarially say it would still be a rail gun, hand held, but far less powerful and much less ammo)

"Good idea" i said, "but there are no more slots for weapons, how do you think we can fit it, wait i have an idea, the rear end of the ship is not put back together yet, i only sealed the door, what if i made a bubble, it could rotate in almost every direction, accept for directly forward, and it can have the rail gun attached to it, and i can use some of the debris from the truck"

"Not needed... The top-aft railgun is floating in space, so... there's our space..." Said I "It does exactly the same thing you explained..."

Vex Valkyrie felt a sense of pride in the first time in days. After waving his sword "Excalibur" aimlessly he finally slashed something. He could hear the moaning of the creature, obviously hurt, but not dead. He approached the sound and had a look at the creature. It was white, fury, and covered with blood....and although Vex Valkyrie was not a very peaceful/diplomatic person, he did not kill him. He proceded into the direction of the sun....(east, because it's morning).....hoping to find more peaceful life...his crewmates.

as Van Toren and Bayhes jumped at the bush, a figure all clad in black took off, taking a few shots at both of the men, dropping what seemed to be a bounty notice on Van Toren and Jaquelyn. Van Toren's bounty happened to be from someone from his past, but Jaquelyn's came from a well known company that dealt with weapons, the reason was mostly for theft of a experimental program to use on military ships.

(some time has passed since last post)

Vex Valkyrie slowly came to conciousness....he had fallen asleep on a floating iceburg....

He felt cold for some reason......almost like there was something on his shirt...and it was spreading all over his body. He felt his body tempurature drop. He looked up and his heart lurched.....the ice burg was MELTING!! Water was flowing over his chest...

He could see land in the distance...but he knew he wasn't going to make it. He swore, and dove into the water.

Borrego was around it's laptop, trying to reprogram the laser, so it would work as a PDS... Suddenly, as it was getting late... He decided to shut down the Computer... he needed to rest a bit before going all night...

"I'm going to the village a bit..." Said I to James...

"Ok... be careful and don't forget your sidearm..." Said James...

"Aye, boss"

Said I, while grabbing my pistol and heading towards a small motorcycle I got borrowed...

I dragged myself on shore...I just swam in freezing water....

The sand felt hot against my skin, and I could feel it sticking to my shirt. I pulled out my sword "Excalibur". "Good", I thought, "it's not damaged",

As I dragged myself up, I gazed in wonder at what stood before my eyes. Ancient Structures towered before me---a civilization that obviously thrived---or once thrived.

"If we crash landed closer to the village I wouldn't need this thing... " Was Borrego thinking... "I prefer much more walking than to going on car or stuff like that..."

As I arrived the edge of the village, I get down from the bike and placed it nearby... Put the locker and there... Safe... "Now, searching her will be the hardest part..."

Badly as I think of it... She appears from nowhere...

"Rachel..." Yelled I, starting to run in her direction...

"Oh, Hi!" She replyed...

When I arrived nearby, I said:

"How are you..."

"I'm fine..." Said she while kissing me in the cheek... "And you..."

"I'm also fine" Replyed the kiss back... "Thank you..."

"I was now going to walk a little bit... Do you wanna make me company?"

"Yeah... sure..."

And we started walking...

The dark clad figure was fast, too fast. Van Toren slowly came to a stop. He panted, out of breath, then turned back towards the ship.

"We better make this snappy, our time is short"

As we were arriving to the beach... I recognized the view... It was the set of my recorrent dream... Even the 3 suns were aligned in a perfect inverted triangle... All the suns were at the same level...

"This is beautifull..." Said I...

"What?" Asked Rachel...

"The suns... going down like that into the sea..." I paused a bit... "It's one of the best sights I saw..."

"One of...?"

"Well... I couldn't tell you what the most beautiful one is, or it would be hard keeping a conversation in here..."

"Really... Try me..." Asked Rachel with a chalenging look...

"Nah... Not yet, at least..." Said I... "So... How often does this occur in this planet?"

"Only once in each 16 years... At the summer solestice... I was born in the last one..."

"Oh really?" Said I amazed by what she told me... "Happy Birthday... that way..."

"Thanks..."

"That also explains a lot of things about you..." Said I while my face softed up, just by looking to her face...

"Van, the engines are at full power, the laser is in place, though the laser uses an extream amount of power, it will need to be ofline untill we go into combat." i said trying to start the ship up (game back up again)

As the 3 suns were almost disappearing, Rachel turned to me and asked:

"Pretty romantic, isn't it?"

"Yes... ah, what?"

As I said that, she grabs both my hand and her lips jump into mine... I got confused with the situation, but after recovering from the confusion (which lasted only 1 second), kissed back...

---- One hour later, back in the vessel... ----

Borrego entered in the ship, with a bag in the hand...

"Here..." gave the bag to james... "This might help with the problem with the laser powering..."

"What's this?"

"An high density battery..." Said I... "As the mayor told Addar, we could, with descrition ask an handfull of things to repair the ship... And return to the 'fight'..."

Van Toren looked around

"All right, all aboard, we gotta blow this joint before troops show up!"

Van Toren sealed the hatch and went into the cockpit and sat in the pilot's chair. He flipped some switches. The power flickered for a moment. Van Toren flipped the switches several times, still nothing. He then banged the consol with his fist and everything lit up

"OK, seems we have power"

"Wait, what do you mean by 'troops showing up'?" Asked I...

"Kickstarting worked then"
Bayhes sat on a pile of boxes, as the chairs where eaither destroyed or been used to fill hull breaches.
"Hope you dont mind, but I left a little suprise for anyone who walks by here"

"Well..." Started I saying, while sating on my post... "Will we return here?" Asked I to Toren...

Toren looked at Borrego before lifting off

"No, we probably never will end up back here, it is a place of beginnings, not endings"

"You sure? If Severus walks by he'll learn to fly. That'll count as end wont it?"
As Bayhes said this, an alarm went off on the long range sensors.

"We've two incoming patrols..."

"Well..." Said I, while making a sad, disapointing face... "I hope so, or this dream could've ended up pretty soon..."

"Damn, he's gotten faster since we last met. Ok ok, James, looks like we're gonna use up that single jump of ours!"

"Shotgun!"
Bayhes moved into one of the only remaining seats in the cockpit. He looked at the sensor screen and saw the groups slowly getting closer.
"Toren, we have 5 minutes until we are in their line of sight"

Van Toren looked at the FTL clock

"Shit, it'll take 7 minutes for the FTL to warm up!"

I started feeling a pain in the belly... Was like thinking "I just can't lose her... not now that I arrived so close..."

"Sir... If we use that jump they might get off this planet..." Said I... Suddenly, while looking on the sensors... Noticed a thing: The village had desapeared...

Jaquelyn came running back in, a big smile on her face. "All weapons are operational, and running on a jury-rigged power source I happen to have at the time. They should offer us some defense against those patrols, and should last till FTL is working." She was excited, clapping her hands together as she ran back to where she was working.

"Well, I don't believe they could give us any help out here..." Said I... "They're trying to keep the village hidden... They wouldn't risk that for us..."

Van Toren looked over his shoulder

"Well someone's happy we're about to die!"

"We've a few bottles of booster chemical..." Said I... "We could use it to gain a few more minutes..."

"Wait, if we shut down all power we should just look like debris in space" i powered down everything "Alright everyone, hold your breath and stand still or they wil detect our life signs" i said as i took in a deep breath of air and braced myself agenst the wall

"Too late, they're already on top of us!"

The New Order ships opened fire, sending a barrage of missiles heading towards the nightcrawler. van Toren pulled hard on the throttle, swerving the ship around the missiles

"All sytems powered up" i said, "Wait, how much power does the laser use" i said as i looked at the readouts "Just enough" i said as i pushed past van at the controls, pressed a few buttons and the FTL drive was online and the ship went to FTL space "OK, the laser is damaged from me draining all of the power from it, and navigation is offline due to all of the raw power from the laser, but we are good now"

"The laser isn't damaged..." Said I... "It's power feeding is... Have you placed the bateries I told you to?" Continued while looking to the bateries in a corner of the room...

"Yes, i did, and the laser needs a new power relay, but dont worry, we picked up a bunch of those on the planet, i can have it fixed in a few hours" i said as i took the housing off of the laser

(apparently, Evil Person ignored my post about the weapons being routed on a seperate, jury-rigged power source... ._.)

Jaquelyn kept tapping away at her laptop, having connected it to the ship's electronic systems, adding various new programs to keep up with the ship's power usage. This ship was falling apart, and she wasn't go to crashland on that backwards planet a second time.

yes, he does have a tendency to disregard the other players sometimes

(The power souce gives off alot of power just to be used for the weapons that is why i disreguarded that post)


"ok, well it only took a few minuets to install the new relay, but it will need to power up again, now that we are in ftl space, i can stop the power transfer"

(I wish he'd make some sense in his post as well)

"The laser is operating at 50% eficiency... If we didn't get such a rush, we would be flying in a ship with decent conditions..." Said I... "Ahh, well... If I wanna see her again, better start working..." Exited the co-pilot post... and went down to engine room...

The New order ships ceased fire and everything went silent
"Its Quiet...too quiet.."
There was a loud bang, and the ship shook for a few seconds
"Now its too loud. I prefered it when it was quiet."
Bayhes went to investigate the bang sound.

"This is Borrego..." Said I to the comunicator... "One of our fuel deposits has blown up without apparent reason..." Thought a bit more... "Oh yeah, I know what it is... Was James stupid stunt!"

"What stunt?"

"Forcing a reroute through normally separated power grids..." Said I... "The propulsion power grid didn't widstand the diferent power peaks..."

Bayhes overheard this on the radio
"Ok, I'm not going there. Someone else can fix it."
He turned around and started moving to one of the manned guns
"Now why has no-one thought of using these before?"

James started saying:

"Wait a moment... Are you calling me incompetent?"

"Yes, sir..." Said I... "Now get to the life support and check if there's any problem with that..."

"What? A 16 year old boy giving me orders?"

"Toren?"

"Do what he said..." Said Toren to James...

"Hmpf..."

Started reading the reports from the grid...

"The good news are, if we reset all power generators, but the life support one, we should get to a place were we would be able to repair whats left of our ship... The bad news are, if we're caught while doing this, we might not be able to respond fire... Either way, we're screwed..."

"hmm, i wonder what this does" as i tried to fix some of the systems

i pressed the button and the whole ship shuttered, then i pulled the wire and nothing happened, "Hmm, nothing then"

"Jaquelyn, try powering up the 2nd Generator..." Said I...

Suddenly, a MID device started ringing... Borrego's one had recieved a text message... it was from Rachel...

"Where are you? I searched you everyone and I can't find you..."

Borrego, imediatly replyed...

"We got a rush and needed to leave early... It's also the same reason why your village stealth field generator was turned on..."

A few seconds later, a message...

"Will you return?"

"I don't know... It depends... But don't worry... I love you with all my strenghts, and I will do all I can to return to you as fast as I can..."

"Hope so... Love You..."

And Borrego felt the chat would end there... He returned to his work...

For the first time in some time, Vex Valkyrie was amazed. The tall skyscrapers that sttod before him were ancient, but well designed. The structers were clearly designed to hold; and they did. He was wondering whether it was luck that brought him here, or fate, although he quickly ruled out that thought as irrelevant.

As he walked aroud his blue eyes fell on something. A small vessel covered in ash sitting in the middle of the "road". He ran up to it in excitment; it could be his ticket off this godforsaken planet. After some examiniation he concluded it wasn't badly damaged and it could be rapaired.

He could finally find his other friends (who crashed on another planet) and return home.

Van Toren wrestled with the controls as the Nightcrawler began to shake

"Ummmm, guys, I'm getting a lot of turbulence up here, I don't think our engines are working righ......."

Van Toren stopped mid sentence as a massive ship came into view

"Ohhhhhh......crap" Van Toren muttered. There was a slight bang and The Nightcrawler shuddered on impact, then slowly started to get pulled into the massive ship

"Well guys...that was short lived. Better get to the hatch and put your hands above your head cause that's about all we can do at the moment"

Van Toren let go of the controls as the large ship pulled the Nightcrawler in. Finally the Nightcrawler came to a stop. From what Van Toren could tell, The Nightcrawler was docked outside of the ship, with a tube connecting to their hatchway. Van Toren powered down and went to the hatch and placed his hands on his head. Moments later, the hatch burst open and fifteen New Order Troops stood there, guns pointed in. A commander figure stepped through the troops.

"Well well well, we got the elusive Delta Van Toren and his misfit followers" the commander said smugly, "this has been a good day indeed...."
