Mision 2: The Discovery

Analise thought about all that had passed. They had lost some of the teams, but that wouldn't stop them. Everyone knew what they were getting in to when they joined these teams. Then Analise thought back to Jack.. She had only gotten his name before the swarm attacked. She sighed. Time to go to the tech labs where John was waiting. She walked into the labs and John saluted.
"So, have you got anything else to report on the recording? Also, after we discuss this I need you to go over the records and logs on the cruiser taken from the database before it exploded."

"Ma'am, it's hard to tell from the age but we can make an estimate. The recording was taken roughly 9 hours before the teams got on board the ship. It was held in the captain's personal shelve... thing... whatever the Wraith call it, so we can presume it's very important. We got the stargate address, but it might not be wise to walk through because it's an ocean world. A paddle jumper may also be seen as prey for they extremely large ambient life. We cannot determine the purpose of it, presumably to gather information on the world in the recording, and the ship was headed to a certain direction out in the middle of space. Some of us think it's where they were supposed to meet someone, and some think it's a trap. I would suggest investigating, but bringing a sizable force. Also, if we pause the holorecording, we pretty much have a star map with lots of unexplored planets. That could prove useful. Orders?"

"Good Job. We do nothing for now though. Can you go through the data and records from the logs we got off the cruiser?" Analise pondered how they would get to that planet and she hoped Jack had remembered how to get a message through if he did find any Hybrids.
"Did you see any signs of a civilization in the recording?"

"Nothing yet ma'am. The recorder was standard though so it recorded some residual readings as well. We have a radiation spike when facing 49 degrees left and 12 degrees up from starting position. It could mean a reactor, for civilization. The data logs had them stop above the planet for about two standard days. They dropped a few Wraith at the beginning, than waited. Nothing much until the away team on the planet came back with a recording. A diary or something I found says that about half came back, all injured. Shortly afterward, sensors picked up something large exiting hyperspace. The new ship opened fire on the Hive ship and damaged it. They escaped just in time. I have a sensor reading on the other ship, shows an architecture similar to ancient structures found on other planets. Everything shows green until they were randomly dropped out of hyperspace. A drive failure suggesting sabotage or a ship that can direct energy blasts through the entire ship's mainframe into the engine, made them come out of orbit and crash. Only a few survived, but I can't get much from there. Most of the data was lost in the explosion, but the other logs suggest the survivors attempting to fight off some insects. Apparently, without warning, the rest died. They didn't have any marks on them as far as we could tell, but we didn't have enough time to do a full autopsy. We could get their destination from the computer logs, but as I mentioned, it's in the middle of space as far as our charts go."

"So... those guys live in the middle of open space? Exactly where?" Asked I

"Well, actually quite close to where the bug planet was. In the recorder the improved star map showed the location about 4 million kilometers off of the bug planet."

(Don't worry... that's the only way to keep up a paralel caracter which has no one to talk)

"Anything or can she make the Briefing so that I can incentivate both teams right before we cross the gate?" Said I "You're going with us, right?" Asked than I to Analise.

Psycho met up with Analise
"Colonel, i have to go back to the island, DARN aliens are still trying to say hello by stabbing us with tentacles.I'll leave you in command of the SGC in my stead, as us and SGs 1 and 5 seem to be the only ones here anyway."
Psycho grabbed his SCAR and walked out of the base, onto a VTOL and then to some random place.

"Hmm... Good Analise... your first experience as leader of the base..." Said I to her "Mine was when the captain of the Apollo went off the ship and putted me into command because I was the «second» most ranked officer there..."

Analise watches as Psycho walks away.
"Alright, since I am now in command, we are going to go to the planet, but we can't use a puddle jumper. I suggest we get one of our transports and take it to the outside of and do a scan. Any other suggestions?"

"Which heavy weapons? 50mm cannon or missile launcher?" Asked I

"How about we hitch a ride on the Daedalus! Or a wraith hive ship? We could use the Stargate if we had underwater gear... Something hyperspace capable. Unless you'd prefer to float... There might be a super gate in orbit above the planet..." (Halo reference! Level "Regret", "Unless you'd prefer to swim" Yay!!!) "Sir, I'd suggest compact projectile weapons suitable for underwater combat... Rockets won't be much use unless they use a propulsion system that incorporates a propeller. Translation: use mini torpedoes."

"Smart guy... one of these days I would make you a recomendation for promotion..." Said I "I vote for the 50 milimeters, but I think we can get a portable multi-warhead launcher... In the meanwhile I tell you why can't we go on the Deadulus... She's on Pegasus!"

"Uhh, yea. I knew that. Might as well hijack something or go with the Lieutenant Colonel's plan."

(BTW Wah??? Are you sure you don't mean 0.50 caliber? A 50 mil repeating cannon is ridiculous.)

(ever played halo? they had... ah... whats the name of the car? forgot it... well... they had a 50 mm cannon (I think it was 50)...

(50 mm is 5 freaking centimeters! Do you have any idea what a 50 mm cannon is like? All the bullets would be 5 freaking centimeters across! The Warthog has a 50 cal cannon, or 50 caliber or .50 caliber. It means half an inch, which is still pretty big. But 50 millimeters? They have freaking mortars the size of freaking 50 millimeters!!! OK, tantrum's over. ^^ Anyway, does SGC use magnetically accelerated projectiles? That's what a gauss cannon is. A magnetically accelerated projectile cannon, or a MAC.)

(Why cant we have one? This is far after the series and there are already MAC's on testing...)

Analsie had prepped the teams. They were going to come at the planet from a ship. They were on the transport and were heading in the direction when Analise looked over at John.
"How far now? and is all the equipment ready?"

"Ivan... arm the .50 gun" Said I to him... "I want to be ready wen I get trouble..."
"Aye, sir..."
Me heads to Analise and says... how much time do we have?"

"Well, we've got a reasonable amount of heavy weaponry and lots of explosives. Their destructive force is actually magnified by the water... Much of our equipment won't function underwater unless we use the ship, which might be risky unless it has lots of defenses and is really big. Motion sensors are useless because of their sensitivity. They register water as well... The only things we can use are cameras and our eyes. We could rig a sensor for echolocation but it would be extremely time consuming. If we're deploying now, we have to rely on less useful things. The teams are prepped, whipped - err motivated, and ready to kill stuff on your mark."

(Since no one is playing...)

"Okay people! Once we drop out of hyperspace expect a warm welcome by a hive ship or something equally annoying. In the jumpers, the ship will lay down some covering fire, cloak, and then shift it toward the planet! If we're lucky the welcome committee won't notice us. After the jumpers are in position, hit the dirt... err... water, boots first. Or flippers. Or whatever. Jumpers will wait only so long, so we better make this exploration quick and simple. If the jumpers are destroyed, we're all gonna die. Lock and load and prepare for submerged combat."

The ship came out of hyperspace and was greeted with a strange sight. Not quite as scary as a dozen Wraith cruisers throwing sheets of energy at you, but almost as strange. An immobile and definitely destroyed station was being docked by another ship, on a planet supposedly off standard navigation charts. Luckily, it was probably someone who could help and give intel, and no Wraith ship in the area detected them as they dropped out of hyperspace. Unluckily, John forgot to knock on wood...

Ben awoke with a start. The first thing he realized was the extreme pain. He moaned and looked around. He was in a dark lit......place? He couldn’t tell. Then he looked at himself and nearly screamed. A few of his limbs were missing. Then he realized he was on a table similar to an operating table. He heard a door creak open.
"How is our.... patient?" a deep voice asked.
A female voice "He is better, although that still isn't enough. We need to reattach his limbs and..."
Ben fainted.
When he awoke, his left arm and left leg felt as if they were on fire. They were the ones that were ripped off his body. Apparently they reattached them. He wanted to itch them, but his right arm was restrained to the table.
Suddenly a figure walked out of the darkness, wearing a Genii uniform!

"Ma'am! One bogie stationary on the station, detecting lifesigns as well. Orders?"

"I don't know who you are," say the Genii man, "But you were wearing a Terran uniform."
"W-what are you doing here?" Ben stammered.
The man laughed. "When your Atlantis went though the wormhole, some of use were on board. Spys you know!"
He smirks, "Now we can spy on your own homeworld, maybe take it for our own! That is why I need you!"
The Genii whacked Ben upside the head, knocking him out.
He turns to a women behind him, "Send him to the brainwasher."

Ben woke up in a large field. The sun shone on his face. Something told him to go to the Stargate.
WAIT! he thought, Didn't I DIE?!
The question reeled in his head. But something wouldn't let him ponder. Something kept saying
Go to the Stargateand dial Earth
Ben got up and started searching, for the Stargate.

Cannon looked to Analise... She was too much abstracted to understand anything around them...
"How's the threat level? " Asked I...

"Well sir, minimal it seems, but I try not to judge things too early. Probably illegally upgraded, better shields and weaponry and can probably charge their hyperdrives in about two seconds. Usually non military don't use fighters, but I also try not to generalize as well when it comes to combat. Translation: In ship to ships combat it could kick our butts."

"Activate the datascaner... mantain us cloacked..." Said I "Reduce other sistems power to minimum... I don't want to be detected so soon..."
Me turn to analise and shake my head in front of Analise face... "Wake up! We're probably near a combat situation..."

Analise looked at the ship and then the station.
"We don't do anything unless provoked. I need me and two others to go on the station. If there is someone on there, we need to figure out why and see if they are a threat. Currently that ship isn't firing. So who is going with me?"

Analise sighed. When you want sometihng done, you have to do it yourself. She left the ship and boarded the station. After making sure she had plenty of ammo, she pulled out her P-90 and began searching the station

(I will be with you. I was away, so I didn't know you requested backup.)

John floated after Analise, shining his flashlight over each corner. "Nothing yet ma'am. Life sign detector is messed up, probably from the station's radiation. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that a few hours close to this kind of radiation will kill us. In the suits we can stay alive and not glowing for about a day or two, although if you plan on having a child that you don't want to shrivel up and die a few minutes after it's conceived, you probably shouldn't stay for more than 12 hours. Dozens of places for someone to tail us or place an ambush... I don't like it. To say the cliche, it's quiet. Too quiet."

Analise walked into the room she thought was a lab..
"John you go on ahead.. I need to see something"

"Yes ma'am. Radio contact every 5 minutes, or my count might even go past 200." He walked off to examine a large stack of barrels, leaving Analise to wonder, 200 of what?

"Ok..." Said I from the Puddle Jumper "John, we have detected some life signs 75 meters ahead of you... proceed with caution..."

Analise stared at Jack.
"Hey, I know you.. I think..."
Analise walked towards him slowly, her steps unsure.
"We met on that bug planet.."

"Lt. Commander! Proceed with caution!" Said I "They might be hostile..." Statics ruin the comunication... "Gosh I wished we had beaming tech in puddle jumpers..." though I...

"OK sir. Any idea whether it's friendly? Hold on."

~Static~
"John here. Status check."
~Static~
"Lance corporal John Aborr of the USAF to Analise Sharp. Do you read, over?"
~Static~

"OK Colonel. I'm gonna check on her right after I see what's in these buckets..."
John leaned over and shone his flashlight into a couple of the barrels.
"Uhh... sir? We have a problem."
"No time for uhhs. John. What is the situation? Is it important?"
"Well, enough explosives to blow up half a planet or the station and both of the ships. Is that important enough for you? There's a detonator in there. We have 3 minutes and counting. Just enough time to check this place out once more and flying down to the planet to be eaten by giant fish. Huzzah."

John sprinted down the corridor as best he could in low gravity and yelled. "Whoever is in here better get to their ship soon or their won't be a ship to get to. Move it!

~Static~
"Ma'am we don't have much time. Finish what you're doing so we can get down to the planet. John out."

"Analise! For god's sake! Return to the Jumper!" Screamt I through the radio... the counter I set in the HUD of the jumper was counting... 2.45, 2.44, 2.43... and counting...

Analise took a few more steps forward, seeming lost in her own world.
"I.. never caught your name.. and why must we leave?"
She stood in front of Jack, and seeming to look past him at something on the wall.

"God DARN it Analise... say goodbye to anyone you're talking about and return to the ship before that poop explodes!"
