How to make fire
Well, it's actually pretty simple. But you need a bunch of programs to do it.
In fireworks, create a new document the size of your stage in flash (usually 550x400).
Take your paint brush tool, and using red, paint in the general shape of fire. Then use orange, and paint more on the inside. After that, use a little bit of yellow, and paint the inside of the orange.
Now give it a guassian blur, so it looks fuzzy, and all the colours blend together. you still want to maintain the general shape of fire though.
Now open up photoshop. Create a document the width of your stage (550) but make its height really long (like 1500)
Go to Filters>Render>Clouds
Voila, now you have black and white clouds. If you don't make sure that your foreground and background colours are black and white.
Now export that as a PNG file. Back in fireworks, open up the cloud file you just saved. Save it again from Fireworks (this may seem a little redundant, bu it is a necessary step later on).
Now, in flash, on Layer 1, import the fire that you painted. position it center on your stage.
Now create a new layer and make sure it is above your fire layer.
Import the clouds that you exprted from fireworks onto the new layer. Position it so that the top matches with the top of the frame.
So, you should now be seeing just a lot of clouds and no fire.
Click on your clouds. In your properties, go to the bottom right where it says blend. click that and you should get a drop-down menu. choose overlay.
Your clouds should now have disappeared, and your fire looks a little wavy.
Make your flash background colour black.
Now, give your clouds layer a motion tween. Move it so that the bottom now matches with the bottom of the stage.
On your fire layer, insert a frame where the motion tween stops (F5)
Now export, and watch your fire burn!

Re: How to make fire
while we're on fire, we actually have an arsonist running around here, burning garbages and buildings. i hear he burned the dumpster where i work last night, which is weird because i worked, and left an hour before it happened!

Re: How to make fire
You should send out a militia to find them! Dunk them in the pond and see if they float!
