Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Y'know what's annoying? Sore throats. Y'know what's even more annoying? Sore throats that are bad enough that you can't talk :/
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
And the worst part is: it might last a week or more.

Pity sore throats don't affect the ability to type.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
They don't effect my ability to ban people either.....
This one though is most likely from overuse as I was giving speeches in our cinemas yesterday and having to throw my voice over a large area isn't something I've had to do really since grade 12, so I shoulda done some vocal warmups first or something

Yerp, though I should double check the date, considering I don't remember where I saw it in the first place
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
You all start really early. Enjoy freshers, you're not allowed quiet nights for the first month.

Actually, everyone at my school goes off-campus to the downtown area to do that stuff. Tacitly supported by the school, which is awesome.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Oh yeah, the cliche idea of American dorm parties. Do go out to town when you can though. As you said in the other thread, it is a balancing act, as put by this picture which I'm sure you all must have seen before:
Oh, by downtown do you mean the black hood areas? Because if you do, it's your home turf, right?

How small are we talking here? It's probably bigger than where I am.

Yep, good grades and enough sleep, here I come!
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Sooo there was a 5.8 magnitude earthquake in Virginia, about 80 or so miles from the capital. Everyone was going wild, saying how terrible it was. I felt no such earthquake.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I got over the going to bed at 5 in the morning thing as soon as I had a roommate. I'm in much better shape now for it, too. Trust me Krunchy, soon as you go to college, you're gonna have to go to bed at semi-decent hours.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I heard about this quake and felt hard to sympathize with the people of new york. somehow living through over 3000 seismic events of significance and 5 very notable earthquakes. a 5.8 is just a mildly worrying event and in conversations its 'oh that was kinda big' anything under 4.6 no one cares about
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
And you posting about it only brings attention back to it? Honestly, "New Yorkers" have already moved on to bigger and better things. Like Steve Jobs stepping down as CEO of Apple.
But I do get where your coming from. Hell, the people of San Francisco are probably laughing at us. Or maybe they're too busy smoking pot to laugh.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Linux is the future for everything OSX lion was terrible and who wants to use dos with a cheap rip off KDE. Its caled FREE for a reason not free beer freedom.
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I wish I had Snow Leopard, Leopard is kinda glitchy and I heard that Snow Leopard was pretty good
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
That's not what I heard from people who use Mac's for the same purposes I do. 10.5.8 is a pretty glitchy OS which is odd cause I think the other versions of Leopard aren't as bad as 5.8
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I'd like to take a minute just sit right there, I'll tell you how OSX will lord it over linux for years to come, if not permanently...
- Some linux desktop environments are visually alright, but it will always find it hard to emulate the design beauty of OSX.
- Hardware will never be built with linux in mind - Macs are built specifically for their own OS
- People feel shameful about being a linux user, whilst Apple has dedicated much to getting successful, professional people to use their products, to make Macs an object to aspire to owning. University students are offered enticing discounts, for example.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Its all a matter of usage of x11 if you put time in and source compile every thing it become easy enough to make any system perfect
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Oh yes, one other point: linux is mainly done on voluntary work. I've got to be honest, when I'm doing voluntary work, I don't work quite as hard as when money rests on my actions.

Linux can pay Richard Stallman founder of the GNU project says "it's free as in freedom, not free beer or work it just means you can give away."Shemuel wrote:Oh yes, one other point: linux is mainly done on voluntary work. Re: Ze Chat Foools!

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
And who's really gonna spend the time and make all these programs compatible with a Linux OS, especially if they aren't getting paid or paid much?
