So, does anyone watch Rick and Morty?
Will the new Star Trek show suck?
The Orville?

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Yes I watch Rick and Morty. As for the new star trek it looks like CBS are overstepping again they fired Bryan Fuller, so I am a little worried.
Also necroing an thread i thought that wasn't allowed....

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
This is a pinned thread, so necroing is ok.
I personally think that the new Star Trek show is going to suck. Just the trailer alone looks like some syfy original series of mediocrity. It looks like they'll try to appeal to the masses, when the masses don't really know a good Star Trek show. Then again, I hope they surprise me with a good show. I'm just cautiously pessimistic for now.
I did not like the last Star Trek film.. I mean, killing ships with music was a bit much wasn't it? Lol it was watchable, but it wasn't re-watchable IMO.
The Orville pilot aired yesterday, so I figure I'll try to watch that today.

I hope it doesn't I mean enterprise ruined star trek enough are CBS not done with raping Roddenberry's corpse yet
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I felt that Star Trek Beyond was pretty good, and the closest to TOS as we've seen since, well, the TOS movies. Unfortunately it was also kinda forgettable, though I do appreciate the effort the writers put into it (Simon Pegg has said that he used Memory-Alpha to help him write the script).
I have not seen the Orville, though I hear it's pretty good, and very representative and faithful to the spirit of TNG.
I'm probably not going to watch Discovery until all the episodes are available online, as I live in America and find CBS's method of broadcasting it questionable. (For those of you outside the USA who don't know this, you will get it on Netflix, but people who live in the USA have to subscribe to CBS All Access, which is essentially going to be their answer to Netflix, though they will air the pilot on TV -- and I am currently debating on whether or not to even watch that.)

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I've got a download of the pilot that I could send to you if you're interested. The Orville looks promising. The pilot was overall pretty good. Humor was mostly on point. It was a little rough around the edges, but I think it was a nice start for the series.
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
So I ate a carolina reaper ate midnight GMT/UCT and it was a very pleasant surprise it tastes like quite a full flavoured habanero then it gets hot and hotter until you question life and why you ever do anything so stupid. I couldn't sleep due to the stomach pains. All in all eating the hottest chilli in the world is not something I would recommend. I feel like Mr Cash now.
Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Okay, so I've actually enjoyed Discovery so far. It's so different from all of ST before, so it's kind of difficult to get used to the pacing and style. If you start it, don't judge it by the pilot. It gets better each episode that you watch.
I've been watching via Showbox installed on Bluestacks. That seems to be the easiest free way to watch. If the show stays good by the end of the season, I'll get a subscription to the CBS streaming crap.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I don't think that the new ST looks very good. It's been a few years since there has been a syfy show that I really liked what a bummer.
I love rick and morty, although I've only seen about half of season 3.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Rick and Morty is life. I've seen every episode.
Discovery is getting pretty cringey, but I'm still watching it.
The Orville is getting better. In fact, I like it better than Discovery now.
It feels like a casual TNG.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I haven't seen Discovery, but I have watched a few episodes of the Orville and I definitely enjoy it.
Rick and Morty is awesome! It's the only show that every one of my friends watches, haha.
Random thought: I got caught by a train the other day and someone spray-painted Bender graffiti on one of the boxcars. I really wish I was able to get a picture of it!

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Controversial opinion: I'm really enjoying Discovery.
It helps that I don't consider it part of the original timeline/universe by any means (there's just no way that the shiny uniforms and nice touch panels and holograms are contemporaneous with The Original Series).
But the plot, especially now, in the latter half of the series, is getting really interesting.
Oh, and now for something completely different: A few months ago (maybe even a year), a twitter alternative called Mastodon came to the fore. It's based off of GNU Social, and it's comprised of federating servers (sort of like email: you may have an account on gmail.com, but that does not preclude you from communicating with other servers such as hotmail.com or whatever).
So, there's a Star Trek Mastodon instance, which is sort of Role Playing, but not strict about it - you can use it as just another microblogging platform.
It's on https://tenforward.social/, do check it out. (My personal, non-RP account, just in case you might want to keep in touch, or something, is in yet another Mastodon instance, https://icosahedron.website/@raffitz ).

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
That's interesting. I definitely remember a thread on this forum from when Twitter was in its infancy and someone (I think it was DJ, but not sure) saying that he heard it was going to become the new Facebook. And people laughed at him and said it (Twitter) was stupid. Lol.
Also, I came here today because I remembered how awesome the birthday greeting is

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Twitter, ha! It was instrumental during the Arab spring some years ago, and now apparently leaders of countries nag at each other through it too. lol
@ Raffitz
I've heard that Mastodon is pretty neat. They say that the servers people run aren't always reliable, but at least it's decentralized. I'll look into it!
Oh, and the ending of that 1st season of Discovery... Nice. It makes me forgive a lot of the beginning of the season. This is turning out nicely, isn't it?

Hmm, the normal URL for this site ( http://flashtrek.motionsforum.com ) seems to not be working. But after some digging, I found the board still alive on https://flashtrek.forumotion.co.uk The question is, will anyone else? Only time will tell, I suppose...

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
Wait, so you were 11? Gosh. Were we even people when we were 11 though? I think that only counts as like half of a person.
On another topic, I've received an email from ole Dondon recently inviting me to this forum. I can't believe someone is trying to remake flash trek again. AGAIN! It's been 10 years! No, 12 years!
Well, more power to them. I joined.
Side note: Did you guys hear about how Patrick Stewart is returning to ST as Picard? I seriously thought someone was playing a prank on me. My entire life has just changed.

Re: Ze Chat Foools!
I was 12. But I totally understand what you mean! The vast majority of the time I spent here was when I was 13-17. So you could say I grew up on this forum
The Dondon project looks like a glorified mod of FT:BM, instead of a remake. It looks like they're going to have their own unique races, ships, etc. rather than make it a Star Trek game. I don't see a reason to join their forum, as it looks pretty inactive, but I'll follow their project and if it actually happens, I'll play it for sure! Seems a bit ambitious though. THOUSANDS of star systems?
I can't wait for the new Picard show either.
