Long RP Suggestion

So, I got this in as a suggestion and I kinda like the idea, thoughts, ideas?

Resistance (or somethink better)

circa 2145, earth has colonised Mars(and terrafomed it) Dew to no FTL Tech, it takes a month to get to Mars from earth, in the fastest ship. in 2360 the Mars Colony declared it's independence, Mars Navy is almost as advanced as Earths, and easy to produce, because of the shipyards in orbit. while there army is very sub-standard.

When the Earth Fleet reached Mars it was decimated by a much larger Mars force, and War Was openly declared between the 2 Sol system Super powers.



This isn't very detailed, and if i wasn't going to go to sleep so i t would be more detailed. but the basic plot is Space Combat, and or The Liberation of Earth/Mars, and to add some spice, Earth is governed in a semi -dictatorship, so 90% of people from earth will be more likely to commit genocide.

Seems a nice plan indeed... Just work a little more out of it... (yes, I have read the part of you being sleepy xD)

Well this is where you guys can chip in. This isn't my idea, it's another member's so any crafting you guys wanna do to it, go ahead, let's see what comes of it

How about if we added a Moon Colony? And of course, Earth-fleet should be bigger than Mars...

And maybe some mining outposts spread out in the asteroid belt, being both Mars and Earth government fighting for those outposts...

Ok since i came up with the idea, here's a larger change, which makes Mars a more justiciable Superpower.

Earth terraformed Mars in the late 21st century, then about 200 years later (aka when it's set) it has the same super superstructure of earth in the earlier 21st century, by that i mean cities like New York or Honk Kong are a common site.

Mars ships are weaker than Earth's but can be built a lot more quicker than the ship of the EDF. because most of the Mars ships are less than 1km long compared to Earth's which are mostly over the 1km range.

ya, that would be ok, too. i have an interesting character for this already.

EDIT: about center teams, it might be hard if theres so many users on earth and so many on mars...

well what if this focuses on Mars's struggle against earth, effecitvely making earth the antagonists and do something like New Order where there's only a couple villains or something

ya, that would be good. my character idea is a neutral that keeps getting involved in the war.

Would there be the chance for indies to play like owners of mining corperations on asteriods etc..

well, I don't think everyone should play all on one ship. We need a few people playing for earth and perhaps a few people on some other mars ships, maybe. If we had more people playing in it, that would be helpful

We could do 2 ships, the Earths flagship, and the Mars Flagship, then i wouldent get to be captain though, i find it hard to RP with a crew though, maby we all just get our own ships?

Have you read the DW: The Ship that doesn't exist? That was my favorite.

EP Earth's Military is the EDF = Earth Defence Force. but i didn't come up for a name for Earth's government, maybe the EDF did a coup a few years ago, and now control earth.

I haven't came up for name for Mars government, maybe the Free Mars Movement.

As for playing the game, i was thinking Ship commanding, or the crew of a ship, here is a little size chart i just did in my head.

EDF
Frigate - 200 meters
Ion Frigate - 250 meters
Destroyer - 500 meters
Cruiser - 1km
Carrier - 2.1 km
Battle Cruiser - 4.7km

What ever Mars will be called
Frigate 100 or so meters
Ion Frigate - 150 or so meters
Destroyer - 350 meters
Cruiser - 700 meters
Carrier - 1km
Battle Cruiser - 1.5 km

Ion beams are the main armament of the Ion frigate and up, thou carriers don't have any, and Ion frigate has one main cannon, which can do serious damage to any ship, with out shields. and in numbers are a serous threat.

The Destroyer has to 2 Ion Beam Cannons the same strength of the Ion frigates, but also has Point defence weapons, and very heavy armour, which makes the destroyer a serious threat to any fleet.

Cruisers aren't armed with Ion beams, but instead are armed with high yield nuclear warheads, which range in the gigaton range, they usually fire there missiles into the middle of a fleet and detonate them, and ships with out shields will be easily destroyed, and ships with shields will likely be destroyed as well, with Heavy armor, point defence weapons, and it's massive size they aren't a common site on the battle filed, but when they appear, it's an almost win for them, and the loss of just one of theses is a massive loss.

The Carrier is almost a mobile HQ and usually the flag ship of any fleet, the average carrier hold around 400 fighters, and has light point defence weapons, and is has little to no means to defend it's self in large engagements and is usually escorted by several destroyers.

The battle cruiser is the ultimate weapon of the EDF, armed with over 20 Ion beam cannon, which can fire at up to 20km away, on any target, they have a added feature, if all 20 beams focus on a single point on a planet, it has the same damage yield as a 50 megaton nuclear bomb, and is capable of de-voiding a planet of all life with in a week. they have little to point defence weapons and require the use of fighters to defend them,so they carry 2 small hangars which hold 50 fighters each, it massive size means that of course that it moves incredibly slow, and makes it's engines a priority target. it's armour is un-matched by any ship, and it would take over 100 Ion frigates to even make a dint in it's armor. the only threat to it are other Battlecruisers.

Might as well call the people from mars red faction as this story is reminding me of red faction, game series

i did get the idea of Mars rebellion from Red faction, but that's about it from RF, the rest is made up.

So what are we gonna call this?

names aren't my strong point, i'll let you guys come up with that.

This would be an action RP, not a love story.

and since terra is banned there is no girls/trannies to play the female...

also, DW RPG was by far the best RPG we had IMO.

Damn we need a new resident tranny :p yea but we dont play as them it's just an npc story and occasionaly they will ask us to help them and what not, plus they give like infomation to help give tempory ship upgrades if you help them

I personally like Tomorrow's War best.

I kinda like having the year in their, but I think Conflict makes it sound too generic and corny and Tomorrow's war sounds like a TOS episode or a Ray Bradbury short story title But I like the concept of the title

2145: Two Worlds

blends my favorite suggestion with the year.

It's set in the 24th century not 22ed.

yes it was colonised in 2145, and they declared there independence 215 years later. Unless you want to Rp about a a planet being terraformed and colonised, it's 2360

Set in the same time as star trek but it's not star trek ------ brilliant name

I kinda like 2360 as a time frame, not sure why. thou 2145 and 2549 sound cooler.

ooh, possibly. Actually, how about that be the name of the main Mars ship, which is what our primary setting will be? That way it has more meaning than just as the title of the RP

I had a thought last night, of some how the Mars navy got a hold of a Earth battlecruiser... and well take a guess what they want to do with it.

or if you want another idea(thou i prefer the top one) Earth is sending a Battlecruiser and we have to find a way to destroy the thing.

Also it has to be called the Hyperion, that is an awesome name.

I'm going with your first idea, though the ship will most likely be called the Belated Hope. However, it's Earth name could be Hyperion and it's changed by the Mars folk

What about character, are we all Martians or can we play as Earthlings or make more than one character?

I think the mjority of us will be martians, though there will be some Earth people. It might be interesting to have 1 or more people actually from Earth, but defected to the Martians, but the Martians don't like and don't trust them simply cause they were from Earth

I was just thinking about making a Earth character aswell, with my martian, I'm going to rummage Google images for a good massive sized ship for the Battlecruiser.
