New Long Rp

The other long Rps have more or less died, so I'm coming up with something new-ish in both style and i guess genre or something. Anyways, I'm thinking of a text based MMORPG or something relatively similar. It would take place in th star wars universe, but i need help determining the era, the choices are

Knights of the Old Republic era
Clone Wars era
Civil War era
Post Civil War era

I'm leaning towards either post civil or KOTOR, but I want to see what the majority of the public wants

my choices:
1. KOTOR
2. Post civil-war
3. civil war
4. clone wars

My list is the same as GS's list, except switching Clone Wars with Civil War.

yeah, i'm reading on the history of KOTOR now, there is definitely a lot of options. it looks like the new game the old republic is about revans return from the second time he left, but man, there's so much, the sith wars, mandalorian wars, heck, we cold even go as far back as to when the star forge was built!

The others have been milked to death by games, films and books.

Though post-civil war is very attractive, I think the best RP could probably be made of the KOTOR era, especially as Earthdeath says the others have been overdone.

i feel that the earlier stuff has been overdone, that's why i'm attracted to post-civil, but i've spent the morning reading about the sith wars and the jedi civil war and the mandalorian war and the star forge and all kinds of KOTOR crap. my head sort of hurt afterwards

Make something new and i might join. ST, SW and most other science fictions have been milked to death, something self made would be one hell of alot better and more original.

no it wouldn't, see everything's been done before, just with a different title. for instance, harry potter is just star wars, star trek is just forbidden planet so on and so forth. anything anyone of us would come up with would be "milked to death". and quite frankly, you're not contributing, so GET OUT!

from what i've read about the game the old republic, it will cover most of that history, so we might just be making a repetitive and less cool version of that

Exactly, and the books cover post civil war. Almost the entire SW universe has been covered alredy, so that's why i think you should start something fantasy or real life oriented (especially something modern real life oriented). But that's just my opinion. You can do whatever you want with it, it is your RP after all. But if you really want it to be SW, i think it should be post civil war, the books maybe missed a spot or something.

Also, i might join. I didnt want to join the last one because it had alredy existed for several episodes.

Make it about the Mandalorian War! It's my favority about the KOTOR era... Mandalorian Empire vs Old Republic... I was making one book with a few of our friends, but we lost the book... xD

KOTOR!!! If not KOTOR, I won't play. I've kept up on KOTOR's history as best as I can, even playing the games canon to what the history states. Revan being male, his 2nd in command being female. ;D Though, I do play the original with female Revan, because then it would always give me a small laugh that no one could beat me.

How about something different?Coming to think of it, wha exactly will there be to do but kill eachother in the SW RPG?
I think if we do do star wars, its should be KOTOR (Post Katarn), if not, we either make something from scratch again, or use something new, less heard of, like a game or something.

hm, Star Wars is appealing to me though for some reason, at least for this style of game, mostly because it is already common. and KOTOR isn't post Katarn, it's like 3000 years before Katarn.

Ah, i always get Jedi knight and KOTOR mixed up..
Anyways, Star wars would be a change.But i just hope it doesn't go like the other SW RP.

yes, Dw, there was. it wasn't organized, mostly because it was like the galaxy rp(you can thank meganew for messing it up) and because it was me in charge of it when i was only a month old to this forum. the last post in it i do believe was 'raffitz dies'

it must not have been a long rp though. i haven't really kept up on the short rps much

ok, so the time era is a bit pre-kotor, when the republic has just been founded, and the sith are about to show face and launch the first of many wars.

1. KOTOR
2. Clone Wars
3. Civil war
4. Post-Civil war
It kinda depends on whether it's Republic-Sith or Revan-Mala for KOTOR.

i'm making something up actually, gives us some freedom to play with ideas that are relatively newish and original. the era is KOTOR-ish but it's just after the establishment of the Republic, and there will be an initial sith war, one being more or less made up by us
