USS Midnight
Well coming up soon in Red Squad and in the Sequel which is yet to be formally announced, there is to be a new ship! And what better way, then to have a ship built from scratch, designed from scratch by me! So here it is (still a WIP mind you) the USS Midnight!!!!!

Re: USS Midnight
I have no idea how many decks, that's the type of thing you don't really concern yourself with at this stage. As for hours, let's see, I'd estimate that if you add up how many hours combine over the past week or so, it's probably around 15-20 hours
Re: USS Midnight
Not bad for hat amot of time, what type of ship will she be ?

Re: USS Midnight
no, no temporal drives, but a prototype warp drive, standard phasers, quantums and photons, a federation version of a cutting beam like weapon and an arsenal of new torpedoes (haven't named them yet)
Re: USS Midnight
Hmm how did i forget FTL drive, ok is this a drive that coudl go a few lightyears a minute kinda drive or just go at max speed for longer than a few shours.

Re: USS Midnight
Production on this has momentarily stopped cause the batteries in my mouse died and I haven't any replacements ATM and modeling using a track pad is next to impossible
Re: USS Midnight
I know the feeling of the batteries running out, and needing to use a wired mouse. mega pain in the .....

Yeah, I find even using regular mice so awkward now that I've been using my Magic Mouse for sometime now
Re: USS Midnight
I've been meaning to buy a new mouse (mine eats batteries to fast) think of getting a Blue touch one.

Re: USS Midnight
Good, those nacelles have gone through a LOT of tweaking to get at an acceptable look
Re: USS Midnight
ummm, that "hole" has always been there. Go back to the first post and look at some of the pics there

Re: USS Midnight
Here's another underside shot. I've begun work on the detailing of the under saucer section
Re: USS Midnight
looks nice, But do you have to render it on a black BG?

Re: USS Midnight
I've been doing that because I'm also testing the lighting on the ship, and having it dark helps me see the light better. Also, space is black, so it'll be on black a lot of times, but when the model's done, it'll be rendered with a full scene
Re: USS Midnight
Ah well that seems ...logical.
What are those red things on the primary Hull? Secondary Nacelles or Cooler looking Impulse engines.

Re: USS Midnight
Those are the impulse engines. They have yet to be detailed, but yeah, that's their basic shape
Re: USS Midnight
Nice design, looks better than the The Normal ones, which is just a square the a red part inside.

Re: USS Midnight
Yeah. Part of the reason these ones came about is cause they wouldn't fit on any of the normal places for impulse engines, so these cool triangular ones came into being
Re: USS Midnight
How long do you think it would take to finish it?

I dunno, why, but this ship needs blue phasers, red/orange won't be cool enough for it..
