College
Well i had my first induction day at college today and it was good normally im a shy person and get very nervous but non of that happened, plus i talked to people instead of sittin there like an idiot, so it's back there tomorrow starting at 9:30 grrrrrrr and we have a skills test. But im glad im there a whole new start for me, as i was extremly unpopular at my old school, plus they have internet filters but this site isnt blocked, and they allow us to use social networking for 15 minutes per day, but if i take my own laptop in which i intend on doing i can waste my day on here instead of revising my a-levels. BTW this may not belong here is just sort of a ramble about my life feel free to move/delete

Re: College
Congratulations on making it to college
Not many people make it to college!
But, watch out for the books... The books will, do things.....

Re: College
I think Lee is at a sixth form college, not what we usually call a university. He is at what you would call senior high.
Dude if you want to avoid being unpopular, don't take your laptop to school. 15 minutes here is enough. Socialise like crazy!

Re: College
oh, having your own laptop at school made you kinda cool/popular where I went. I didn't have my laptop back then, but somehow I managed to be popular-ish despite being anti-social, it was kinda weird really
Re: College
Darkwing, what kind of popular was it? Popular as in everyone knew who you were or popular as in everyone liked you?
I was popular as in everyone knew who I was, I mean everyone, even the new little kiddy sixth graders knew who I was for some reason! Then the new sixth graders the next year knew who I was..... It was weird........

Re: College
but of both. no I wasn't the "oh let's hang out with Chris" type, but a lot of people knew me, mostly because of the stuff I did there (ie editing the school musical for film and stuff, plus the drama plays and things) but also everyone got along with me too and very few people even remotely disliked me. Like I said, it was kinda weird, the whole I don't give a shit about teen drama thing really gets you a fair bit of respect I find but, I was always a guy people could talk to if they had a problem
Re: College
Well im in newcastle college sixth form department (senior high) but if i wanted to do hefc's(higher education foundation course) i could have instead of As levels and then i would be in mainstream college. Well i have just had my induction finish today and i have 2 friends i am pleased with that as i am a very reculsive person ( the internet is diffrent) and it is so much better than school i can do as i wish now plus i get my EMA for going.

Re: College
sounds like a program like we have here. While in high school, some of the course can be made to be university courses and you can essentially do year 1 university while still in high school
Re: College
Another advantage is the college is ten minutes walk from the city centre, so it's easy to grab lunch plus the onsite cafe's and deli, just so happens the cafe is in the entrance of my block, so i end up with a tea and newspaper.

Come to Delaware and drive on Route 1. Typically people drive up at about 90 mph, which is... uh... 150 kph?

Also insurance is ridiculous aswell as petrol prices, road tax, buying the car,MOT, servicing, and to pay for lessons and the test

Re: College
Insurance isn't needed, but in America your forced by law to have it. My mom had a very bad crash because some idiot got drunk. And insurance screwed us over, her neck is permanently messed up, the insurance said my mom was drunk, did insurance fraud, and faked the injuries WTF. There was a entire police report, we have like 3 policemen that saw the wreck. And fraud? The Policemen saw it, they saw the guy ram my mom. And then insurance screws us over, why have it when they will screw you over EVERY MOTHERF****** TIME??

Re: College
you are one messed up person. To be honest, I have a hard time believing you with things sometime.
Re: College
Dude, I'm not joking, shall I send you a invitation to her funeral when she dies? Or shall you believe me then? Insurance is so f****** messed up.....

I meant, like, you run your car into someone elses... My mom's car is older and had a Steel Frame, the other idiot had a new fiber glass car, but he was driving real fast, and did some damage.
