Growls are pretty good though.

The lead singer and the lyrics don't seem to fit very well with the music, but fair play to them for trying to bridge the teeny pop/punk rock divide.

Yeah their lyrics really suck, but I like the band. They have gang vocals! Nothing that has gang vocals can be bad.

You know what? I think it's about time to introduce you to spotify. Thousands of songs, all for free (well, you have to listen to a commercial every once in a while, but other than that, it's like a radio that lets you choose anything you want). There's everything for everyone.

I would personally suggest grooveshark and 8tracks. Grooveshark has a vast number of songs and an ability to sequence related songs, and 8tracks has playlists made by other people that can be totally rad!

Meh, there's plenty of Youtube videos that are flagged for my country.

Oh, and Grooveshark, YES! I've been using it for about 2 weeks now. I just listened to the Daft Punk Alive 2007 album in it's entirety. Such a nice service! No commercials, no lag, and the music selection is better than par.

Services that don't work in the US are seditious and they go against the state.

Actually, what i posted wasn't nationalistic at all. This, is nationalistic.



I have to admit though, she's kind of right about one thing. Most Egyptians living abroad tend to miss Egypt, even when living somewhere as clean and prosperous as Europe. Egypt might have some shitty places and a large portion of the people might be poor, but i still love the place.

To be fair, that wasn't as crazily overtuned as the Arab female music I have heard.

Do you expect you'll go back to Egypt when you've retired, or will you stay in Sweden? It's conjecture I know, because it's impossible to see 40 years into the future.

Well, if Egypt is still relatively like it is now or better(as in, it hasn't turned into a shithole), I'm probably going back when i retire. But like you said, you can't really see that far into the future. My opinion of Egypt or wherever i live (I'm probably leaving Sweden for greener pastures after graduating and maybe getting some work experience under my belt. Specifically Canada or the UK) might change. Or it could become a smoggy, overpopulated starving shithole. You never know.

And yeah, Sherin is a pretty good singer by Middle Eastern standards. I'd go as far as say she's a good singer by international standards too. Her songs have meaningful lyrics (most of the time), the music is a pretty good fusion of western and traditional Egyptian instruments and effects and she has a good voice. That's more than you can say about a sizable portion of the world's artists.

Huh... I just noticed she goes to Tahrir square in the video, and says ''Have you tried walking in her streets, complaining to her?''. Kind of funny in retrospect. The people did just that, but not as quietly as she might have meant.

Now I want to make a movie again. I think the only way to avoid these stupid desires is to simply stop existing, which is unfortunate cause I have no plans on ceasing to exist anytime soon
