Re: Favourite Videos
Wow, that's awesome. I want a big that can say that, and sing Bodies by Drowning Pool.
"So, how can you tell it from other birds?"
"Well, there's this naturally occurring swastika here..."
"Well, it looks like Ernie found our camera!"
"Well, yeah, when the Merkel gets sexually excited it flies directly to a reflective surface and there it rubs it's genitals up against that surface."
After watching that, I can't stop laughing!

Warning for a tiiiiiny wiiiiny bit of offensiveness (like, the I'M GOING TO FUCK YOUR FACE AND MAKE YOU SHIT ON A CARP kind of offensiveness. Still hilarious though.)
EDIT: Wrong video. Replaced it with the right one.

Re: Favourite Videos
I faced a very dark realization after watching this video. There are no fully automatic robots who enjoy scones and have great manners. And there probably never will be in my lifetime. Now excuse me, i think i'll just go and cry a little bit.

Yeah, I stopped at "How are you?" Remarkably similar to German, though. It's quite amazing.

I think it's the different characters that puts mostpeople off.
They say Icelandic is also the closest main language to traditional Norweigan being spoken today.

Re: Favourite Videos
The first minute is pretty messed up, like it skips a part and repeats a segment by accident. The rest is good. Best movie scene ever.

Re: Favourite Videos
They wasted so much food to make that video!
Very captivating though.
@ lee
remind me to add that to my list of videos that my prisoners watch with their eyes taped open.
This is my Japanophile friend's favorite commercial ever.

Re: Favourite Videos
Man the Japanese are awesome...
But this is how you make a good commercial. Capture the spirit of the people, hire someone who knows what the hell he is talking about, don't be cheap and dub some commercial made for the US. This is an excellent example. Not a single frame or line in this video is exaggarated (except the one where Abd El Imam is walking around with this massive pridesmile on his face, that's kind of over the top) but it still manages to be powerful, capture people's interests and inspire. The translation is below the embed.
It is strange, the story of one of us.
Every one is the most important one.
With his weaknesses stronger.
With his love more beautiful than anyone else.
With his perseverece he can arrive.
And his imagination he can live in another world, that no one else has ever seen.
With his smile, he can affect others.
Tell many stories with a movement.
Get close to millions with a word.
And his voice can reach anyone.
Gallant during a crisis.
And simple, but in his simpleness, king.
With a touch bring the world to it's feet.
From his place move the emotions of any
one.
This is the strenght of 80 million.
Not that we have become one number.
Our strenght is in everyone.
----
It's like... They wrapped a good piece of poetry in good music, excellent visuals, a good beloved actor and the spirit of a people. There's a reason this was wildly succesful and will be remembered, while Omm Hsen cooking butter's shitty pop soaked attempt at being funny isn't going to raise sales that much.
Also, it's kind of funny... I think it started airing not more than a couple of months before the revolution began, and pretty much everything he said became even more valid.
I don't know about commercals in your countries, but most of the stuff we get here is either dubbed UK/US commercials (and the dubbing is mind boggingly horrible by the way) or incredibly shitty attempts at humor.

Re: Favourite Videos
Wow, that was a good commercial.
Here in the US it's mainly US commercials, with a few from the UK.
Or... some making humor out of the UK. LOL Hence, the Orbitz gum commercials.
Also, for some reason, to Americans, something can become twice as funny when it involves someone that has a British accent.

Re: Favourite Videos
Tally ho old chap, i do believe a strongly worded letter shall be sent via her majesty's mail to the producer of the telivised commercial, fowarding my disgust at the way the british are portrayed.

Re: Favourite Videos
They wouldn't have wasted that much food even if it wasn't CGI. It's really just a tiny amount of veggies and fruit. Pretty much nothing if you compare it to the big picture.

Re: Favourite Videos
Got no talent? Doesn't matter. Suck a producer's dick hard enough and you might get to make a shitty ''song'' which tops the chart only because it sounds trashy enough and most of your demographic don't have the brains needed to identify talent or judge a song on anything other than how trashy it is!

Re: Favourite Videos
Awesome. Just hope they'll make the dungeons a little more than a hole in the ground with a bunch of dudes wandering aimlessly around, and make the combat more fluid. Oblivion combat sucks balls when you're fighting a guy with high health/defense.

Double the minoritywellthrowing epicness if he was jewish too.
Edit: Man, we really need to get some ethiopians in here... Me and him could squabble over access to the Nile, while Philly is trying to throw him down the well... It would be glorious.

Thom Yorke kills Justin Bieber and saves the day! And then flops off the next assassination on his agenda... Gaga!
He was able to get as far as her secret warehouse hideout, and then the music overcame him...
No Thom! NOOooooo!!!
A great hero was lost today.

That's a very slick amateur production, although with a budget of $12,000 you'd hope it to be.
