Re: General Discussion
and part 2 has come to a close. I am now attempting to bring some of the storylines together now as Part 3 will shift direction a little as we have a common enemy now
Re: General Discussion
I've an idea for my character...
A few days later, I'm nearby Earth after the rebels sent me investigating the "disappearence" of several of Sol System Colonies... The refit of my ship was rushed and so I'm using Secondary Engines as stealth engines, since the reprograming of the main drives wasn't finished...
What do you think?

Re: General Discussion
yeah perhaps, i'm gonna be merging the stories for part 3, we'll have a common goal/enemy
Re: General Discussion
What would be the effect of the "Haven" trying to breach into the "Scarlet Fire"? Or that is one of those "things that ain't gonna happening"?
Re: General Discussion
probably rip it to shreds, i dunno, we'll find out as the story unfolds i guess
Re: General Discussion
I might be back in part 3. What did i miss? A ton happens in a week!

Darkwing wrote:well, it's been about 10 years since the events of the NO RP, Van Toren was in power, but about 5 years into it, was betrayed by Severus. Van Toren was banished to a moon where he found the hulk of the Nightcrawler. (that is 5 years after being banished) He met up with Addar and powered up the Nightcrawler and escaped. Now in secrecy, the rebellion had been building up support. Van Toren and Addar found Borrego. After getting supplies on the planet with three suns, they meet up with Michael Bayhes, thought to be dead after Severus had left him for dead years ago. They left the three suns planet, only to meet up with Doyle, fleet admiral for the NO and commander of the flagship, the Scarlet Fire. They escaped except Van Toren and Jacquelyn. Van Toren was shot in the head by Doyle and died. In some unfolding plot though, Jacquelyn is working with Doyle and brings Van Toren to life, however, he has brain damage and therefore has no memories. Doyle is getting Jacquelyn to manipulate Van Toren to be used in destroying the rebellion. Meanwhile, Bayhes is on some side mission with this beast known as Haven, some sort of unstoppable creature. Borrego is looking for his GF as Doyle kidnapped her and sent her away in hiding. The Scarlet Fire is now at Earth in a 2 month refit. A character from the past (Destral) is a stowaway on the Scarlet Fire and is now being escorted away by Jacquelyn as her and Destral have some sort of past connections

I think it is safe to say this is Rp has caused the most confusion so far.

Re: General Discussion
i dunno, the DW rp was pretty confusing with all of its time travel and alternate timelines and realitites and things
Re: General Discussion
It was the only one were the criativity was left to float free without having people over ubering... Just little ubers, as guessings... nothing more...
Anyway, I reread DW's final post of part 2... It's actually safe to say that the refit would be finished, as installing a cloacking device and reprograming the main drives to dual mode drives would, in my calcs, take a week...
EDIT: This one, not DW's... DW's had a lot of ubering tipical of ST Universe...

Re: General Discussion
@DW: Yeah I guess. Plus its going to be somewhat easier now that a few characters are gone and we actually know what we are doing properly now.
@JPB: Yeah, isn't it nice how meganew isn't around to ruin the plots anymore?

Re: General Discussion
And I believe DW is gettin affected by drama school... He never got up with a romance between his char and another one (or even a NPC) before...
Re: General Discussion
Or maybe Terra did get to him in some way. But I think the drama school idea is more likely.

Re: General Discussion
Undecided.I have a way to get him back, but I might ditch the character from an old RP for a new one that would be a lot different.

Actually, for all of you, me and him had this pre-planned for the slight romance... but it might head in a direction with Toa after some time as me and him have a backstory between our characters... never know

yeah, what terra said. and i dunno how drama school would effect me, i haven't had drama in almost a year

Re: General Discussion
hardy har. anyways, i intend o have Van Toren killed for good. The first time he was killed, I didn't exactly expect him to be resurrected so I kind of have no idea what I'm doing with the character
Re: General Discussion
Dibs on causing it..with my dead..guy..Oh..right. That makes two of us not knowing where our charcters are going then. Actually, I need a new one altogether now.

Re: General Discussion
hmm, we'll see, it's already started to some degree, but as long as it moves the story and is executed in a fashionable manner, it should be ok
Re: General Discussion
Well, it is tomorrow now, so I think I've decided, John Hunter will be back after a long period, and he will have a bad mood to match. I will still need an explanation of Haven's nature from ED.
Will post more, in 9 hours or so.

Sits back in the cell and wait...
I think I will also need another character. Oh, the ships in this rp are like the Daedalus from stargate atlantis, with missiles railguns and beam weapons.

Re: General Discussion
oh M, with your last post, if you're implying haven attached to our shuttle, I specifically wrote that Haven was out of reach/falling away. I don't really want to go with that over-used plot of the alien gets on the ship and wreaks havoc
Re: General Discussion
Oh no, I didn't mean to, But Hunter sure as hell wasn't going to take the risk, if it wasn't for that huge ass scarlet fire ship, you would have been toast.

Re: General Discussion
Hmmmh, I'm kinda out of idea's what he's going to do now though. He sure as hell won't attack the scarlet fire directly, and contacting them after what he has just done, (and he was a wanted pirate too, at that) is not much of an option either.

Re: General Discussion
Ok, so i am going to send my charictor back into the game, but, i need to know, were would i be, last time, before the coma, i was on the ship, were would i be now, and what is our current objective, and anything important to the story line. So i dont mess it up, wait, scratch that, tell me, were i am, if i am still alive, or on the ship, whatever, and what would i be doing, like helping repair the ship, also were we are, on an enemy ship, a planet, and also tell me who all i am with, like who is on the ship with me........

Not so powerfull... but yeah...
And beam weapons only exist in ship-to-ship speciallized ships (Like the rebel battlecruisers) or huge dreadnoughts (like the 'Scarlet Fire')....
The remaining are limited to railguns, gauss cannons (battleships and battlestation only) and missiles (for both Offence and defence, as seen in use by rebel battleships as Strategic Missile Defences)

I'll come up with a new ship. *Goes to workshop*

Re: General Discussion
You have to remember that this tech is basically non-alternative universe, only 150, or more precise 160 years in the future, so there's only very crude FTL technology, and sublight speeds for any decent ships being long maxed out at factor 0.3.
ED, if you still want to, this is where you would come in handy.

You do realise that I've been here for twice as much time as you do, right.
The number is just to illustrate that speed is extremely low, and to give the noob an idea of where the developments are at.

Re: General Discussion
Yeah... Enjoy it, cause there's not so many places were you can argue at will...
Anyway, we can see a decent advance in FTL travel between NO and Insurrection... I mean... my ship crossed the space between the edge of the colonized space and Earth in a month or two...

Re: General Discussion
That's true. During NO the only option for FTL travel was a hub network of wormholes, (which I then proceeded to destroy near the end) and now it's standalone jump-drives.
At sublight the advancements have been less dramatic, simply due to the nature of the laws of physics, but currently there is only one ship which has reached speeds over half the speed of light, the TundraWolf could reach something up to .9 .
However, it would be completely invisible, and virtually inoperable due to space-time relativity, and it only holds a couple of people, very light weaponry and no armor. The rest of the ship is dedicated to an immensely powerful, unstable nuclear drive. The closest other ships have come is somewhere between .5 and .9 for some experimental unmanned drones, but for any decently large ships at the Puma flagship, reaching up to .5, it beats almost anything, being half ship, half massive unguided missile. Other fast ships are some private-funded rebel ships, most pirate skiffs, (where speed is paramount) and private unarmed yachts.
The reason the pirates are so fast in sublight, but relatively slow in FTL, is that they don't really bother with FTL when tactics are concerned, because activating a FTL drive is like poking a secret service agent in the eyes and say where you are going. FTL travel is very easy to track, so pirates and other subversive elements tend to stick around the outer colony where surveillance is slacked and justice is non-existant, despite the "New Order".
