Re: Planets
Indeed... you need to have to find more worlds... search those links I posted for the planets...
Re: Planets
there`s no need to find more planets if there are none , how about creating some secret planets used as special testing ground by someone .

Why don't we research planets from the books? Or at least make up planets?

Re: Planets
we'd have to know more about covy/brute culture to be able to name the planets if we were to make up planets which we will inevitably do. we do know the planet will be desertlike though ( for brutes )

i would believe a majority did survive,if not all the planets because all the human ships would be occupied defending the human colonies

Re: Planets
Remember of the Covenant Separatists... they were lead by the Elites, and, for some reason, they had a superior battle ratio of Kills/Losses ... cause it seemed that the grunts were happier on serving the Elites than the brutes... except those fanatics grunts who wouldn't run from you... idiots...
Re: Planets
lol ya... i discovered the grunts breath methane and so their homeworld is methane.. we could possibly do a sort of flashtrek 1 thing where u can warp to a SYSTEM and there are multiple planets there.. so then we could include alot of planets without haveing a full map

Re: Planets
actually, I was thinking on a sistem of sectors and then sistems, you know what I mean? Like... every species has at least a controled sector for themselves... inside those sectors there would exist several other solar sistems... and, if you own more than 50% of those solar sistems, the sector is yours, although you would still have to fight the other guys there... And inside those sistems there would be a few planets (five or six), which 1 or 2 of them would be key to control the system...

Re: Planets
The Grunts are devided... the fanatic ones, which continue to follow truth and the non-fanatic ones, that follow the Elites into battle, although those ones are actually neutral in the last phase... as are the Hunters, which is pity... it would be fine having those armors at our side...
Re: Planets
The Covenant are more of a Religious sect... Brutes(Jiralhanae)...Hunters (Lekgolo)...Grunts (Unggoy)....Elites (Sangheili)....Jackals (Kig-Yar)....Engineers (Huragok).....Prophets (San 'Shyuum)......Drones (Yanme'e) all make up the Sect during and throughout the game (Elites leaving after Halo 2)

Re: Planets
The Elites are not the only one to leave... at the end of Halo 2 and during the level "High Charity" you see the Hunters striking over the Brutes, and the Grunts fighting along side the Elites...
Re: Planets
The Elites actually left... because no hunter or grunt help you in Halo 3... it was just a mass civil war during halo 2

Re: Planets
Makes sence... but still... if the Grunts are fighting with the Elites, why do they stay in the Covenant? Probably we don't see anything because they are neutral on Halo 3...
AND... killerflood... no... I've only play Halo CE and 2 and I'm wating till it exits for pc...

Have you read any of the books? If you have you must have heard something about the Grunt rebellion. They were put down and reinstated. By the way if play Halo 3 there are tons of grunts you kill so...IF they are neutral, the Prophets got most of them put back in line. Probably same with the hunters unless the Hunters and Grunts split into two different factions.

Re: Planets
No, I did not read any of the books... I saw it in Halopedia...
Hmmm... maybe was that what happened... But there must be billions of grunts, so... what you call tons of it might just be a very small percentage...

You could be right. They could be neutral, working in elite ships, or they could be neutral on their planet

Yeah, there are loads of Grunts, but the primary reason of their numbers is that they breed and mature at a rate that not even kobayashi could eat. The prophets fielded them as cannon fodder to avoid overpopulation.

Re: Planets
Well if you ask me the Grunts serve no perpose, At least not during the Flood in CE, i enjoyed not having to do anything in CE during the flood when there were grunts, if they dont want them to overpopulate move them to a halo instalation. In halo CE the grunts would not fire on you or fire very little at you during the flood, also if i was the humans i would just launch a few missles at the rings command cneters, or i would set detonaters around the outside of the Halos, the only grunts i find useful are the red and black grunts, the others are just stuped, they run around screeming and once i chased a yellow one off a cliff in CE.
Re: Planets
xD That's true, grunts are stupids xD
Anyway, if they wanted to crash any Halo, they should send one Big Nova Bomb... It would destroy the Halo, plus everything around it!

Re: Planets
Planets people, planets, if you want to discuss the storyline background / primary storyline, make a new thread.

Re: Planets
i'd rather they just didn't in general, well, i suppose they could throw out ideas, but JPB and I have a fairly clear view of what we're doing, it's just a matter of getting on paper
Re: Planets
Well, anyways, talk about planets, not the halo background story. And should i make a storyline ideas thread? I think it could be of help to you and JBP

Re: Planets
hm, i don't know, see i've learned that it can be more of a hinderance cause then people get an idea of how they think the game should be and we have a different idea, so for now, let's not have story suggestions
Re: Planets
Here are the home planets for the Covenant:
Brutes (Jiralhanae) - Dosiac
Jackals (Kig-Yar) - Eayn
Grunts (Unggoy) - Balaho
Hunters (Mgalekgolo) - Te
Drones (Yanme'e) - Palamok
Elites (Sangheili) - Sangheilos

Re: Planets
I DID research this......
Full explaination: At the end of Halo 2, the Unggoy and Mgalekgolo (that's Grunts and Hunters respectively) DID split into 2 factions each: one side stayed with the Covenant Loyalists while the Separatists of each race returned to their homeplanets to overthrow the Loyalists there, or, likewise, were fighting the Loyalists elsewhere, explaining why they weren't in Halo 3.
