Story Pitch
I do hope I am not becoming troublesome with all these posts, but I thought of an interesting idea for a storyline in BM3.
According to the "Mirror Universe" story line, the Earth Empire falls and all the species that were slaves get revenge on humans.
Let's take that idea and have some fun with it:

Story Idea wrote:You are a human, along with a small handful of other humans that are being sold off as slaves. A Ferengi merchant buys the lot of you off and puts you to work running trade missions for him. His motto is that the best motivator is personal gain and he will allow you to 'buy your freedom' if you earn enough money to make it worth his while. For every trade you make for him he allows you to keep a small fraction of the profits. After you earn enough money you can buy your freedom and do as you please.
During these trade runs you will have the opportunity to gain some individual prestige with the various species. Klingon, Cardasian, Romulans. Those minor side missions can be worked out as things go along but that's besides he point.
Until you buy your freedom you cannot own any planets or buy ships "for your fleet", you are a slave after all. After you buy your freedom you may start to buy ships from others, but you first have to earn enough trust to be allowed to start your own fleet. (Come on, after having the Earth Empire dominate the galaxy for so long do you really think they are going to let Humans get a foothold again?)
This is where prestige comes in heavily. You need to become an ally with anyone before you can buy any ships for your fleet at all. Once you do become an ally a "motivational problem" comes along. Say... the Borg start to invade in mass or something. From that you will have to work with your allies in order to save all your skins.
After you help defeat the Borg you's invasion you are allowed to have a homeworld once more, giving Humanity a chance to start over. From here is where that personal flavor comes in. You can either backstab everyone or try to ally with everyone. The borg or another species can be a constant threat so even if you conquer the galaxy you will still have something to do.

Sounds good, but Dw is writting (or trying) a campaign mode... and I don't think thatis his idea... but the overall idea is good... maybe.... No! Don't look! xD

Re: Story Pitch
oh yeah, i definitely know what I'm doing with BM3, it involves some fun old time travel and mirror universes and corruption and all kinds of fun things.
Re: Story Pitch
You have a point on time travel. Mirror Darkly seemed to be pretty heavy on that dimension-time thing and "assassination to move up in rank" fits nicely.Darkwing wrote:oh yeah, i definitely know what I'm doing with BM3, it involves some fun old time travel and mirror universes and corruption and all kinds of fun things.
Again, I was just throwing in my two cents.
