Lost Mission Reports of the Ghost Battalion.

Mission One: A dozen Borg Cubes were spotted near a single planet. Intel figured it's something big, and we're being deployed to check out the ground troops there. The Armageddon and the Apocalypse are in orbit holding off the Cubes and we have to just do some recon on the Borg task force and get out quick.

0:08: The dropships are approaching the LZ. We are taking some pretty dang heavy AA fire, and we've already lost a dropship. A dozen soldiers already in one Op, and we were just getting started. Looks like the Borg have set up a perimeter, but they're jamming our sensors so we can't see anything else. Going just as planned...

0:28: 30 minutes into the mission now. Most of the ships are in now, but the Borg seem to have some heavy armor set up around the perimeter. Calling in for some aerial support. The Apocalypse and the Armageddon seem to have a bit of trouble on their end as well, so we're going to have to use the dets prematurely. The surface to air cannons will have to wait...

0:41: A strafing run by a few Thunderwinds took out the artillery. We're into the Borg center now. Low casualties currently, and the Borg are keeping their heads down. Soon it'll come to trench fighting, but another pass by the fighters will blow them to dust.

1:01: The Borg just got some reinforcements. Our losses are tiny and the Borg are falling back into their center. Obviously a trap, and the Borg Cubes are running to save their shiny backsides. The Apocalypse is putting down some heavy fire onto the Borg position. The Armageddon is heavily damaged though.

1:53: The Borg are done. We've taken out most of their forces and they're calling for us to surrender... I think it's a trap. We're going to Gamma bomb the place just in case...

2:29: It turns out the Borg were luring us into a trap by mistake. When we Gamma bombed the place, the entire field detonated. It was a massive gas mine...

3:08: A guerilla team of Borg is being hunted down. The ships are breaking orbit and the dropships are on board. The Nova bomb is prepped, and the planet is uninhabited except for the Borg. Bye bye M29-313.

MISSION 2: The Apocalypse is going after the last 5 Borg Cubes. It's going to beam us aboard to see if we can disable one of their hyperdrives so we can study a Cube. Easy as pie. We just jumped to hyperspace and are moving in fast...

0:04: We just dropped out of hyperspace. The Borg Cubes aren't reacting at the moment, but sensors are picking up a ridiculous amount of energy spikes in the fleet.

0:49: Something happened. A huge energy beam disintegrated two of the cubes and heavily damaged the Apocalypse. We're detecting dozens of jump signatures, all Borg. Calling in the Zeta 51 and Foxtrot 29 fleets to assist. So much for pie. More like a pie with dual disruptor cannons and shields.

Actually, I'm bored now... My resolution has crumbled. Our defiance has subsided. Our will settles down under the looming shadow of imperial rule... Anyway! Could an admin/mod please kill this topic? A pipe bomb or a sniper would work. It usually stakes out an area for a week before coming, so you might have to improvise.
