Ghost Whisperer Review

Ghost whisperer is about melinda gordon, a woman who could see ghosts when she was a kid because she, like her grandma and mother and so on, are the guardians of the dead and are supposed to help the souls who still have unfinished bussiness here on earth so they can move on to heaven, nirvana, hades, the underworld of the force or whatever you believe in. At the time of the show, she's a young woman who recently married whateverhisnamewas,a paramedic.

Sounds like something with potential for scaryness, emotion and chances to look into yourself and think about life and your mortality, right? Well, yes, it does have the potential, but in the end it's just some cheap crap shoveled into your TV.


Acting

Oh god... Where to begin... Just... Ah... Melinda gordon, the ''hero'' of the series. Her acting is stunning, and not in a good way. She is completely unable of anything but the most basic emotions, the way she talks is annoying as hell and she cant even FREAKING MOVE IN A CONVINCING WAY. SHE. CAN. NOT. MOVE. WITHOUT. LOOKING. LIKE. SHE. IS. FAKING. IT. How the hell do you do that? Can you even FAKE moving? Well, i dont know, but i do know she's completely unable of moving convincingly except when she moves in a straight line. You could put a pair of breasts on a stick and place it on a rail wagon and you'd get a better actor. OK, now her husband, what'shisnamenowagain.

He looks good (no, I'm not gay. But i am able to see the difference between looking good and not looking good) . That's all about him, other than that, he's identical to Melinda. Well, maybe except moving, he's OK on the moving part.

And now the ghosts. They're always a different actor, most of them not very well known but some of them are actually better than the shows standard actors. There's not much more i can say about their actors.

Story

The story is... Nothing special. She can see and talk to dead people, it's been done in games, books, movies, other TV shows and probably some anime. To ''spice it up'' (if you can really call it that), she has an antiques store and a friend who works there. She also gets romantic with her husband sometimes, and the resulting acting is blindingly bad. That's pretty much all... Oh, and there's something about a war between the good souls and the bad souls in there somewhere but it's amazingly dull, just like the rest of the story.


Conclusion

This show had alot of potential, but all that potential was completely eradicated by bad acting a dull story. It ended up as a show for those girls who keep trying to summon bloody mary.

what do you mean by potential? if the story sucks and they have crap actors, they would have to completely change the plot for you to like it.

i find it too much of a six sense rip-off. i'd give it more of a 4/10 because there are worse things out there than this, it's just not my first choice of osmething to watch on a friday night

@ DW Yes, there might be some shows that are worse than this, but this one is still really freaking brain shatteringly bad. And there's still 2 less grades for the worse shows.

Well, yes, but some rip offs are less innovative/ good than others.

your right but do you find that every episode of ghost whisperer is exactly the same plot just different characters and its a rip off of medium or medium is a rip off of it

the thing with stories, is there's a theory that the greeks came up with the first ten stories, everything else was just mashes, mixes and rip-offs

if that is true all writers are doing is coping old stories and mashing together existing ones. why are they paid so much and why did they need to go on strike a couple of years ago

ah, alright. but even so, it wouldnt be something i would go to see

well my opinion the review worth's 9/10 carrots but the movie 6/10 bad choice of a movie , if you want something more creative try classic movies of some horror ones
