Weekly Blue Planet Trafficshare Update
May 10th 2011
Hello and welcome again to our Weekly Update! Naturally things this week are a little hectic, especially with all the changes made to the Trafficshare system over the last week. Of course if you want a refresher, you can just check out the announcement that was made regarding these changes, or just pop on over to Blue Planet and check them out for yourself! This week furthers a bit on the new update format and though not entirely how it's going to look, it's close enough!
Trafficshare Announcements
Trafficshare this week has some new additions and old sites removed. Of course we're always looking for new sites to expand to and are always open to suggestions, so if you know of any websites that might be interested or benefit from the Trafficshare Exchange, please give our Blue Planet Ambassadors a holler (currently is just myself and occasionally Honor).
As you would have read in the previous announcement, the new Trafficshare system allows for not just the official representatives of sites to be involved, but regular members as well. Trafficshare is much more public than it previously was, allowing for people to post RP samples on the Blue Planet forum, or give general updates on the goings on at your own site. However, as mentioned before, we do have a new system for judging whether or not a site should still be involved in Trafficshare. The system is simple, there will be a form for the official reps to fill out by no later than Monday of each week. This form will then be the basis for the Weekly Update and will be shared with all of our TS partners. This of course is a fantastic way to encourage new members and activity for your site and to let the world know you're out there! It also gives you a chance to explore other sites and RPs and to meet new people! The form will be available within the next few days and will be in time for the reps to begin the Weekly Update for the update of May 17th. This week is an exemption to the three strike rule as there is currently no form.
Trafficshare is now open to not just RP sites, but general sites as well. We're constantly looking for new places to expand our borders and for other sites to expand theirs!
Current Trafficshare Sites
The list has changed up some since last week. We've unfortunately dropped in Trafficshare sites, however we hope to have a more populated list in the near future and of course, any recommendations that you have to make, just send me a message!
Section 31 Roleplay
Section 31 Roleplay is primarily a RPG-X Based Group, onto which we
roleplay on our 2 servers. We are a group of people aiming to create a
welcoming environment, onto which our officers can relax and enjoy their
time. We do not wish to burden anyone with lots of responsibilities, or
make them feel like they are not wanted, as everyone in our community
is!
We currently have two branches of the Section 31 RP as part of our Trafficshare Exchange. The main one is of course Section 31 Roleplay, however there is a Battlestar Galactica spin-off of Section 31.
Naturally, Section 31 needs some help! Join in the game today!
Battlestar Valfreyja

BSV is looking for new players as they are experiencing a bit of a slump in activity. The system is free and doesn't require anything more than in browser applications. So if you're looking for a great way to spend some time and meet some people, join the BSV sim!
Flash Trek: The Unofficial Forum
FT:TUF is a general site for sci-fi fans and a home away from home for many. Starting out as a basis for the Broken Mirror 3 flash game, FT:TUF has since expanded to become much more than just a sci-fi forum!
Our newest addition to the TS Exchange is Flash Trek: The Unofficial forum. Much generally happens here on a wide variety of topics, ranging from general discussions, to media discussions to even creative projects embarked upon by our members!
The month of April saw one of these projects come to completion. Star Trek Red Squad is a 3D animated project by the member Destral. As a Romulan mastermind prepares the destruction of the quadrant by his new wormhole technology, the cadets of Red Squad must stop him! Red Squad utilizes a unique style of exterior animations and voiceovers to tell the story. It is a 4 episode series with episode 3 having just been finished and episode 4 going into production!

Blue Planet General Update
Blue Planet is beginning to crawl out of its dry spell! Of course part of that is due to graduations and and of school year exams and we'd like to give a warm congratulations to all, but we'd especially like to congratulate Honor, one of the founders of Blue Planet on her triumphs over her Senior Showcase and end of year activities.
On that note, we'd like to share some of her creative endeavours on this project by directing you to some examples of her showcase:

As you may know, it was May the 4th the other day which means International Star Wars day! In honor of May the Fourth, it was decided that a favourite Star Wars quote thread was in order! Here are some of our favourites at Blue Planet!
RP Updates
Not a whole lot new along the lines of RPs, we have some RPs that are still going strong and others struggling to find their legs. To start off, Illusions of Fantasy seems to be out of the woods, or at least immediate danger. The story has begun and a few are playing! This RP utilizes two separate realities that are different... yet the same!
In other RP news, Darkwing Continuum is nearing the end of its third episode. With only two episodes left to the "Pillars of the Universe" arc, there are still many secrets left to reveal and the fate of all reality lies in the balance as the Shadow army is now spreading out, intending to destroy this reality for their masters who must never be said aloud...
Also, as mentioned last week, Atlantis hasn't been doing very well. It's still uncertain as to whether this game will continue or not. To help the game continue, register a character and play in an alternate universe where you get to forge the future of the Pegasus galaxy!
Current RPs
Stargate Command
Stargate: SG-1 alternate reality. Archeology, science, and military
types alike must work together for the exploration of the universe and
the protection of our planet. Gear up, head out, and kick some alien
tale! Or make friends with them. Just survive to protect Earth and
return home.

The next generation of Stargate personnel travel to the Frontier Galaxy.

The Pegasus Galaxy. The Lost City. New dangers await our Stargate teams
as they become the resident caretakers of the City of the Ancients. New
friends, new faces, new dangers, and a whole lot of new territory.

Existence itself is being threatened! With a dark and ancient threat
finally coming to light, secrets will be revealed and sides determined.
The pillars of the universe are about to fall and the only thing that
stands in the way of space being destroyed, is the crew of the
Darkwing...
Solar Exodus
Set in the future where mankind has been forced to leave Earth after a
dying sun begins destroying the solar system. Take your place amongst
humanities last survivors, journey far into space and see how far your
‘humanity’ keeps you safe with Wolves as your only saviors...
Annals of Lystra
Horses. Knights. Damsels in distress. Life in the huts, or life in the
palace? You decide. Take up residence in Lystra, under King Karel's
rule, and try to make a life for yourself. That is, of course, if you
manage to survive disease and rogue Warriors.

head out for a day at the office. Nothing out of the ordinary happens
today, you only stop a car from crashing into you on your way to work
with sheer thought and leap up a tree to rescue a cat.

The Christian Crusade
Join Jake McCormick and the Crusade, Christians against the evils of

much deeper purpose and strength than your average futuristic battle for

Still on the new roster is Star Wars: Rebellion. SW:R is still only open to character registration, however, game play should be beginning soon.

you're a Jedi in hiding. Maybe you're a simple farmer, who decided to
join the fight. Maybe you're a diplomat, working the Rebellion
underground. You get to choose!
