Atention!!

The first release of Flashgate is finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It only has some graphic changes and the ships. The ships' plugin is totally finished.

I still haven't made any changes to space stations...

The HUD is practically intact...



And now behold,

You should probably download it (right click->save target as) instead of following the link. I ask DJ to update the web version...

Probably, the planets would have to come before, and I still have to change the races, the HUD, the race choosing menu, the race logos...

There's a problem with the weapons... Some are overpowered and some are underpowered... And the ships' stats and prices are very messed up.... I really have to work on it a little bit....

Today I was wandering through the code, and I didn't find anything interesting... However, I found something I was looking for since a long time... Cheats...

The animation is exactly the same as the current one (the warping is a hyperspace window, I'll only replace the picture)...

I've also finished inputting the new planet sprites (They are very cool (I personally think they are better than the ones Vex used, but his were badly cropped, which gives some points to mine))(I made them following my tutorial that can be found in DJ's tutorials section) and replaced some of the space stations with moons (more planets, but smaller...), but not all....

Hey, I've been checking out your work on Flash Gate for a while now and just got around to making a forum account. I just wanted to say, this looks pretty amazing so far, and I can't wait to see the finished product. I've got no doubt that thi will live up to the Broken Mirror name, even if it's not using it! hey i got a idea why dont you use the dyson sphere as super gate wormhole generators as regular stargates and big wormhole could be covered up by super gate and maybe you shuold get rid of anti matter and make star gate regular sized at all the planets Genius

Meanwhile, no, i won't do the whole thing someone suggested... I'm thinking in replacing deuranium with naquadah but I still don't know what to do with antimatter... Maybe I'll just call it "Fuel"....




Meanwhile, i'm making damaged sprites for my new damage system, which will demand a LOT of code changes, which I believe I'm able to do, but i'm not sure...

Yes, I know, because the player movieclip has the mask movieclip in only one keyframe, and the movieclip changes frames through actionscript, so i'm thinking in copying the mask movieclip and replacing the masks with altered copies of the shiptypes movieclip, and changing the whole coding of the thing,and adding some more stuff,which I already have in mind, but I won't be able to explain due to it's complexity....

well, i tried it, but it didn't work as i wanted it to, but i've had another idea that might take a bit of time. i'm wondering what it would be like to load the mask symbol into the shiptype symbol, then modifying the mask for each ship

What i'm thinking is: copying the mask symbol and replacing the "no damage" mask with a shiptypes copy that contains the not damaged sprites, replacing the first damaged mask with a copy of the shiptypes with the "slightly damaged" sprites... Then I'll add some coding and etc. and then I'll replace the shiptypes clip in the "player" and the "othership" movieclips and change the coding....

Since latinum is the monetary unit, what I might be doing is:


Replace duranium with Trinium

Replace Antimatter with Fuel (Still working on a better name...)

Replace Latinum with Naquadah (Remember when Vala Mal Doran wanted to exchange the Prometheus for Naquadah???)
