mother of boards
well guys I have been away for abit... and guess why? my mother board died. To be specific, I'd say it was the north bridge because one of the anchors holding down the heat sink popped out thus improper cooling of the north bridge. I should have realized it when my computer was acting weird but it was a crappy mother board anyways so I'm happy to have a better one. It's not top of the line though since I'm not rich... so sad, still it's a lot nicer than my old one ^^
Re: mother of boards
The new motherboard is an EVGA nForce680i SLI and the RAM is 2 1GBs of OCZ 800DDR2. cool thing about the ram is that is has a heat pipe to pull the heat away from the ram. Also 2 new Silver Stone case fans. all I can say is those things blow!
Re: mother of boards
nice i got the preinstalled one as my parents wont let me put a better one in so it makes WOW lag and other stuff:(

Re: mother of boards
mine came with a pre-installed, but i got something good. i don't know all the stats of my motherboard though, but i'll just say it runs very smoothely, makes no noise and has never once heated up!
Re: mother of boards
your lucky mine is noisy as the fan is always on full as it gets really hot i even put a coolant in it and it deosnt make a difrence so i got a small freezer and i keep the tower in that (really i keep ma computer in a freezer)

Oh, i've heard about a water coolant system that you can get for your PC. I know a guy that has it, and his computer works great!

Re: mother of boards
Quadcore, I think.
anyway, I've heard of PCs with oil cooling in it: make your PC casing watertight, pour in some oil in it which doesn't lead electric current, and voila your ubercool system!

Re: mother of boards
yea but you dont get four times the power output but you need one hell of a power supply.
oh and we have comps with 8 cores.

Re: mother of boards
computers exist with 10 cores... they call them supercomputers, and they don't fit inside your bedrooms, I guess!!!

Re: mother of boards
I think super computers have more than 10 cores and they are not as big as you think
