Podcast Idea

So I was doing some thinking recently when I had an idea regarding my reviews. I thought "hey, it would be cool to like get together with a few people like once a week, watch a movie and then basically in talk show like format, review it on video, upload to youtube and to ReviewStop."

Problem with that is I have very little time to do something like this once a week, that's when I thought of the potentially easier and quicker version which is make a podcast.

In short, we get a few people willing to do this together and say by a certain date we've watched a movie. We get together on Skype and do like a 10-15 minute weekly or frequent podcast or something which is the group of us discussing/reviewing the movie. I'd say that it shouldn't be more than three people per "episode," however we could have like an alternating crew if there was enough interest in producing this.

Thoughts?

It's an interesting idea. I'd be willing to contribute, although I feel I wouldn't be able to be a regular.

Hopefully I'm in. I have skype, and I watch a lot of movies. But, I'll have to figure out a way to talk on Skype without drawing too much attention to it. (When I talk on Skype, everyone raids the room)

You kinda see where this is going... 'Why are you on Skype? Who are you talking to? Who's that? What forum? How often do you post on there?' And then they discover some naughty threads... and I'm screwed.

note: Just saw the Green Hornet. Not bad. I agreed with your review. A one time see for sure, but nonetheless, entertaining.

@DJ: Invite them to become part of ReviewStop

@JPB Perhaps, but my primary concern would be movies and maybe some TV now and again. Of course we could do the odd review as in all technicality, ReviewStop is for all sorts of reviews.

Also, I think I may open this up to Blue Planet to see if there might be a few people interested in this idea there as well

Thats not a bad idea at all. I also like the idea of reviewing games. Im not sure how much Id be able to contribute, though.

Well, if we do anything, I think it would be best just to start up a youtube channel, and do more than just reviews. We could have a sort of talk show, and have a pre-set list of topics to be discussed.

I can talk your balls off, so if any of you can do that too, we might be able to get something like that going.

No no, this is a podcast so let's not get carried away here. This is for ReviewStop and this will be the ReviewStop podcast (which if we prove consistency, I'll add to iTunes for the whole world to have )

It's a good point about youtube, though. If you really want it to take off, you're going to need the attention of a good number of people. The podcasts/videos could be uploaded to youtube, with regular directing of people to the ReviewStop site which contains bonus bits, other material - potentially the more blog-like feeling that Review Stop has currently.

So something like the vlogbrothers have? BTw my answer is a yes! I would also like to do games but it's your call DW

Well like I said in my very first post, a video format was my original idea, but it's too time intensive and requires the group of people to actually have all there schedules align weekly to actually physically meet. See there's tons of potential yes, but for now, we have to start small and doing an audio podcast via Skype seems the best way.

Well movies are the primary focus, however we would most likely do the odd game review as well

I watch loads of movies all legit as the cinema does tickets for £3.25 on a Tuesday do I saw transformers last night and it was epic but I only seen the 2D version

We're not just doing new movies, we're doing movies from all over. If there is some interest from mah fellow employees at the theatre, we would most likely be the ones to do the majority of the cinema review ones as we get to see a fair bit of those

Well, I think we now need to sort out logistics for this endeavour. I highly doubt we'll get to Skype the same time each week, however I would like our segment done by a certain day of the week regardless of when we've recorded it

I have mics but i don't think i could do it on a regular basis.

I can do it... That is if you get a decent hour for me to skype =D

My only problem with you JPB is that you're difficult to make out. NOt that I want to be exclusive or anything, I'm just saying that you were difficult to make out when doing ELZ, but of course that was a couple of years ago pretty much
