Chapter 1
To Be Continued
- Spoiler:
I was only 6 when the war started, i can remember that day like the back of my hand, it was the worst day in history. It was December 3rd 2238, it was a cold winter morning, i had gotten up at eight in the morning to get ready for school, what was difforent about this morning was a flight of fighters flew over my house followed by a giant ship, they came from the military space port, i diddnt think anything of it, i was 6 at the time, i just thought it was cool. I had just left for the bus port with my mother, her cell phone rang and she answered it, it was my father, i couldent hear him but my mother seemed worried, she said goodbye to him and that she loved him, she also told him to be careful, and she hung up, we then procceded to the bus port. As we arrived the School Ship was waiting, i said goodbye to my mother and i got onboard the school ship, it was rather small, i got into a window seat and i waved to my mother as the ship took off vertically, it enguaged its thrusters and powered off into low orbit. During the journy to the school station i saw the giant ship and the fighters again, they were moving in an orbital path, the luminecent blue glow of the thrusters reflected off the wing of the school ship and almost blinded me, we docked with the school station and i got off the ship, i began walking to my classroom when the station shook, i diddnt know what was happening, red lights flashed and the walls opened revealing passenges to the escape pods, a teacher pulled me by the arm along with sevral other kids and pushed us all into the escape pod, it launched, the teacher was piloting it, i looked out the window and i could see small explosions around the giant ship i had saw earlyer, i also saw a fire burning on the school station, i saw multiple ships flying around the school station, they were fireing on it with Rail Guns, that was the last time i had a normal morning.

Military Space Command, The Pentagon
Washington DC, Earth
0730 Hours
The room was dark, it was nestled deep within the basement of the pentagon. The room was dimly light by the illumination of the green moniters on the desks of the officers, the General of the Space Command was sitting in chair at a large wooden table, at the other end on the wall there was a giant moniter that showed all movements in the solar system, the General had just set down a cell phone, and he looked tword a cup of coffie, he lifted it to his mouth and sipped it and slowly set the cup down again.
"Sir, we are detecting a massive fleet of fighters inbound to orbit" Said a Lt. looking at the radar screen on his moniter.
"How many" Said the General in a deep worried voice.
"Im not sure, 50, 100, 200, the number keeps rising as they get into radar range" Said the Lt.
"Launch the Arc Bird and a flight of 150 Fighters" Said the General
"Aye Sir" Said the lt.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration
John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida
0745 Hours
An office within a large Hanger, it was dark and lit only by a dim candle and a computer moniter. An Officer opened the door, he saw the Lt. sitting in his chair facing the wall.
"Lt, we have orders to launch the Arc Bird" Said the officer
"Its not ready, its weapons systems were only installed yesterday, the defensive shields arent even fully operational yet" Said the Lt.
"Its orders directly from the General, he sounded worried, he wouldent tell me why" Said the Officer
"Thats why" Said the Lt. he pointed to the moniter showing the incoming targets on a small radar display
"Sir, we must launch" Said the officer
"I know, im doing that now" Said the lt. The Lt. picked up a microphone, he began to speak into it.
"All Base Personell Launch the Arc Bird, this is not a drill, we are under attack, launch the arc bird" Said the lt. he then set the microphone back down and turned to the Officer and said "Here it begins"
The Hanger Doors Opened revealing a large ship, its thrusters sprang to life and the fire turned from orange, to a red, to a blue, the Arc Bird then lifted off from landing struts and carefully menuvered out of the hanger, it was giant, it cleared the hanger and the nose lifted upward, then the thrusters let out a loud bang and the fire begame huge and engulfed the hanger in a large blue fire, the Arc Bird Lifted off leaving the building Chard, but the people on the ground were prepaired for such and the building was fire proof. The Arc Bird Flew Accrost Sevral Hundred Miles before picking up enough speed to enter orbit, it was now joined by over 150 fighters, they flew up into orbit and the fighters fired sevral missiles, the Arc Bird Fired sevral large shells from a giant launcher on the hull, the explosions destroyed sevral enemy fighters, buti t wasent long before the fighters came in range of earth stations, they fired disabling a school station and sevral defence platforms, the 100 Rail Gun Ports on the broadsides of the Arc Bird lit up and fired on the 100's of enemy fighters, sevral large cannons also opened up, even 4 new Lasers shot at the fighters, the fighters responded by fireing rail guns back, but the ammunition just bounced off the thick armor on the hull, the Arc Bird ceased fireing large shells after the fighting centered around the ship itself, it was to risky, to close to orbit to fire the shells, they could hit friendly targets or fall out of orbit and hit civilians.

Maybe there is no need for anything more complex.

Re: Eclipse, Dawn of War
I don't see your point, Lee. Moore's Law (the bit relevant to this) states that technology will increase exponentially, although not guaranteeable for the distant future.
However, my point isn't that there won't be something more advanced than a phone, but that it may be superfluous. Tables were created aaaages ago, but they haven't been replaced by something else. There's no need for anything more complex. Sure, you could have straps on it to hold diners close to the table or have it mutilayered, but people neither want nor need that.

Also an School Station, sounds like a mega huge waste of Billions of Credits, to simply hold a few thousand Students, It's Hugely more Economic to to make a Bunch of schools that hold a few hundred Children for a few hundred Thousands Credits.... And not be in Space.
Also... why are you writing as this Now much older guy is still a Six year old?

Re: Eclipse, Dawn of War
The entire story will not be all in his narrative point of view, its more of a description of the war from his eyes at the beggning of each chapter, then it goes in to actually have the battle, you will see, im adding to it now.
