Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Well, I doubt that'll happen considering it thrived very well before Lee arrived and any times he's been gone, like the previous time he was banned. But meh if that happens, what is an empty life and what is a full life? It's all a matter of perspective is it not?
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Sorry to hear about the new earthquake, JTull.

I agreePhilly Homer wrote:Jtull wrote:I am back to being a bit suicidal again so yea.
Then don't come on the forum? Go deal with the shit in your life. Get it all sorted out.
Also, Jtull, just surround yourself with a lot of friends, and try to stay positive. I get like this every once in a while, but it will pass. And when it's over, you'll feel like a newborn baby.
I could see that... Here's what one of my prisoners did a few weeks ago:TCMurder wrote:You don't want to see him angry! He'll rip off his shirt and scream war cries all day long while running around swinging the shirt and wearing underwear on his head, totally freaking out.
Or wait, was it I that did that to him?
Edit (by Thingy): Images removed. Please don't post this kind of images in a non satirical/informative way. Posting images of Iraqi prisoners being tortured as part of a joke is kind of insensitive. But i doubt you knew where they came from or what they were about, so no further measures will be taken.

Yeah Shem, just because you got drunk and did things you regret, that doesn't mean that we're responsible for the the consequences of your actions.
Some things are just too damn funny to not get a picture of....

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Here, how about I share some crack and then when the cops come, blame it all on you
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
No, I'll just tell them that we were sharing, and we'll both get off scot free!
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
No really, it does.
If I develop it, then maybe I could open my dream restaurant!
EDIT:
Aww shoot, I have to get ready for worko. Later man.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
I think it's a little more because of this whole... You know... Guy being bereft of his basic human rights by a bunch of Americans who decided to invade his home because they need his country's oil to feed that greedy little system they have going on over there, and are now humiliating him probably simply because they can't understand his culture, and automatically assume that all other cultures are teh evilz. Or maybe he's a rapist and a murderer. I don't know. But it's disrespectful to use those images in a joke.
I mean, wouldn't it be if i used a picture of an American Vietnam or Afghanistan/Iraq POW being humiliated/tortured/killed in a joke?
Also, I'm aware of the massive amounts of killjoyness in this post. My respone to that:

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
That guy is most likely an Iraqi prisoner being humiliated by a bunch of US soldiers following the invasion of Iraq.

Or he's a robber that was caught by grocery cart while wearing underwear on his head

And the prison wardens decided to take a photo of him bound to a bed with a panty on his head?

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Well, guess I'm gonna have to ask you to remove the pic you posted because it insults people with facial deformations
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
*Facepalm*
My picture is a mask. His is probably a picture of a real person being humiliated by the US army in an Iraqi prison in one of the biggest US army scandals of the last decade.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Well due to the uncertainty of this all, imma just lock this thread, this is too much of a headache and a waste of time to continue with this pointlessness
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Well... There's a trustworthy source and everything... So it's kind of clear actually. But yeah, that was a pretty pointless discussion.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
And you do have mod powers thingy, so if you see something and you think it should be removed, you can remove it yourself
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Actually, I was about to do that. Just wanted to give a reason, and when the first post wasn't understood I made another to clarify, and then we got into a discussion for some reason.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Ah, ok, but you do have me curious now. What happened there, like did the UN or American government punish these guys accordingly or what?
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
The whole story is pretty much this. Or, well, a light version of it at least. Look it up on google or wikipedia if you want the details.
The US government wanted some intel, so they decided to torture some people. Or, well, some of it was for intel. A lot of it was just pure hate with a bit of bigotry mixed in. The torture was everything from waterboarding to sleep deprivation, and most of it ended up being extremely humiliating for the people on the bad end of the war. Some were forced to pile up on their comrades naked, some were ''lucky'' and only got some sleep deprivation and had to wear panties on their heads while chained to a bed for a few hours.
The people involved got a couple of months in prison and were kicked out of the military or were just completely acquitted. That's pretty much it. Hell, one of the soldiers involved was acquitted and was only charged with disobeying orders for leaking information about this whole thing. Way to win hearts in the middle east huh?

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Oh, and to make the whole thing so much better, some of the prisoners were hurt so badly in the torture that they died. That's not to mention all the stuff that probably has been covered up by now, or never had a chance to leak out in the first place.
See? This is why i wish the US would lose it's super power status, and the EU would replace it on the world stage. Europeans have some decency at least.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
I was really hoping it wasn't gonna be how you said. Though it's a bit odd because this would have been a UN thing to deal with, not an American because it's the UN that holds up things like the Geneva convention, which goes to show how much power the States still holds over people
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Yup. Only the small nations have to worry about the UN. Well, the small nations without oil, that is. Most of the major powers just walk all over the UN when it comes to things they actually care about.

Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
It's all because of that stupid Veto. If that weren't in place, shit could get done right when it comes to the bigger countries
Re: Le Chat a la Genéral
Well... It's probably there so the UN doesn't go down League of Nations style... If given the choice between not being allowed to shit all over every single moral view that doesn't belong to a cartoon villain and doing whatever they want in exchange for leaving the UN, all the major powers (except the EU... maybe...) probably wouldn't pick the first one.
But this thread is locked, so we should probably just let it die.

On a similar note, if we keep having enough world related active discussions, I may make a board for it
