Re: Blender 4 noobs
The Blender Forums are also very well done for the most part, at least I found it that way
Re: Blender 4 noobs
Dunno if you've went there or not but here the tut section on SCM
http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?16-The-Dojo
The Blender for the faint hearted pretty much dominates the 1st page.

Blenders layout pretty much mauled my eyes, you cant find anything plus theres button which dont have anything to inidcate what they do, even when you hover over them.

Re: Blender 4 noobs
The G key moves objects. Use right click to select them, not the left click. S scales things if memory serves. All of these are also available if you hit the SPace bar and go through the drop-down menu. Oh and you should be aware of the three axis
Re: Blender 4 noobs
I understand axis sketchup taught me that.

Re: Blender 4 noobs
Yep, Blender isn't a good program for new people to learn. It's even tricky for experienced people. But if you just attempt simple things, then you'll get by and progressively work up. Maybe in a couple years you'll be modeling/animating semi-complex things

Don't listen to him. I get by fine without mine. Though I don't use Blender much, I've gotten by quite well without my numpad

Re: Blender 4 noobs
You will want a mouse though. You can use the track pad, but it's very difficult, mouse is much better
Re: Blender 4 noobs
I'll load up a screenie of a way to alter your view with out using the Num Pad.

Re: Blender 4 noobs
2.4 was. Then he got 2.5
Still, it's not very difficult to find in either version and if he can;t find the main menu, well, then I have no hope for him and won't waste my time trying to help

Re: Blender 4 noobs
I can find the menu, the 2.5 it's much easier to use and i've found some basic concepts such as resizing objects and moving them up and down.
