The Most Important Things in Life

This is something I've been thinking a lot about recently is what are the most important things in life. Now being religious, my first answer is obviously supposed to be God, but that's awfully ambiguous and doesn't really mean much when described like that, because living for God means doing things in life. So putting Deities aside and religion and whatnot, what are the most important things in life? Please don't just give a cliche answer (I already know what J's will be ) but really think on this and when you post, please state why you think it is so. So yeah, post up!

I don't really know... I don't have a religion, or a cause... So i guess all i have is family and friends, and myself.

It was different not so long ago... I actually wanted to join the army, you know, make people's lives better, shoot some assholes and all that. I don't really care about that anymore. I doubt i'd be able to change anything as a soldier/army officer.

The most important things in my life are definitely the people around me. The people who I love and care about; the people I spend time with and laugh and cry with. They are the reason I'm still living now cause otherwise I would have killed myself a long time ago.

Other than that, I don't know

To be able to look at myself, and be content.

See, I wish I had that. I'm a self-hater. I am by no means content with myself. There's not one day that's gone by that I don't have something new to think on and wish I could have done better. It sucks.

Meh. I agonise over past actions. It's impossible not to do that if you have a soul.

For me, it's just every day that brings new angst for me. Yesterday I got really angry with my mom and yelled at her. I never should have done that.

Whether it's my inability to get up and do something meaningful or not being polite to my parents, I find myself hating myself more and more by the day.

Yep. Hopefully I get away from all this madness and become a better person. I can only hope. :/

I have the feeling that Philly and I aren't too different in some ways, it's just displayed in two different ways

For me, its just about having fun. Not wreckless, breaking the law fun or getting yourself killed fun (only in moderation).

Most of the time it does involve friends and family. Other times, there's nothing more i want to do than watch TV casually in my room.

However a lot of things cost money, so we have to find a balance between fun, family, and work.

This is most interesting. I always found that things like fun were too ambiguous to use as any sort of gauge, just because things like fun could mean so many different things

For me its family... im from a very traditional mostly Italian family so, if you dont know much about the culture, the Family is number one everything else is secondary...

My family and friends are my first priority as well. However, my family doesnt ride on tradition as far as I know. My grandparents on my moms and stepdads side are catholic, but I think thats about it.

The most important thing in life is yourself... Everything else is secundary... If it doesn't maky you happy, you shouldn't be forced to do it... But I'm not saying you should be selfish and self-centered... Sometimes helping people gives you happiness, you know that?
