Giving the forum a purpose
As you've probably realized by now, the forum no longer has a purpose other than chatting. BM3's been canceled, and we're not focusing on anything other than the general chat section. So, i have an idea, it's not very developed, but it's a start. We could make this a Sci Fi and gaming forum. We could have sci fi and gaming news, sci fi and game reviews and all that stuff. We'd also need to make dedicated sections for Sci Fi and gaming. The members we have now would however need to actually be interested in sci fi and gaming, and it would be better if someone could help the staff out with running those sections.
Opinions? Ideas?

Re: Giving the forum a purpose
I think the forum first needs to look good....
Yes, nice idea. We could ask members to take responsibility in updating news threads (eg. Thingy does gaming news, JPB can do tech news) and possibly responsibility for review threads too.
I suppose we'll have to ask member if there's anything specific they'd like to see (not like we've done that before )
As at the moment we are busy, I suggest if anyone is also on another forum, they invite people to here. Thingenborg, you could try and invite a gamer over here to teach the masses about the glory of computer games.

So, you also bought SC2?
Re: Giving the forum a purpose
I like the idea, I'm just thinking of the past where the sci-fi section were the least active. Also, you'd have to be very on top of the news out there and writing our own versions of it and to be honest, I'm not sure anyone here is dedicated enough for that. As for looking good, you shoulda been here last night around 6 o clock my time
Re: Giving the forum a purpose
NO DW! that was not good, also i would write xbox 360 game reviews, i would also be intrested doing articles about sci-fi and science news for the forum.

Re: Giving the forum a purpose
Oh... It's because talking about the Hello Kitty Theme is usually... It kinda cunfuses me (due to memories of that event... they're confuse most of the time)...
Re: Giving the forum a purpose
if we do add a sci-fi/gaming section, we could expand it to movies too because I keep with movies and stuff for the most part
Re: Giving the forum a purpose
Why dont we give it a shot but if it does work we should never forget our humble roots as a backwater sci fi community

Re: Giving the forum a purpose
Well, for the reviews, we could have editors. I'll be the editor for the gaming section, DW will be the editor for the movies section. All reviews will be submitted to us so we can censor correct any heresy grammatical errors, and maybe some factual ones. We will then decide wether to put it in the short or full review sub section. It should increase review quality and make it easier to find the kind of review you want.
