Earth-Link Zero
Figured I should make a general thread for the ELZ updates. Also, just made an ELZ facebook page, so yeah, you can join the page here:

Re: Earth-Link Zero
So draft 2 of the script for ELZ is at 50 pages now! And so far, it's considerably better than Draft 1 (which made it to about 65 pages)
Re: Earth-Link Zero
Script is over 80 pages ATM and here is Raxis Prime, the dieing homeworld of the Morningstar Pirates:
Re: Earth-Link Zero
is that white thing a torpedo? and you got the angle wrong. the trail doesnt match the direction the object is facing.
these kinds of things make you better critics are your best frenzz
edit: and i love that planet, kudos to that

Re: Earth-Link Zero
actually, the trail is right, see the back of the missile isn't the standard shape of a missile, giving the illusion that it's off. But when it's made in the 3d space, it's pretty much accurate
Re: Earth-Link Zero
hm interesting idea. i wouldnt ntice something like that, i look at the whole missile, rather than the individual parts.

Re: Earth-Link Zero
the bottom of the missile flares out, making it not flat at the back, so this is what's causing the illusion of the angle, i'm gonna take some snapshots of the other angles from the 3d space and you'll see how it is actually correct
Re: Earth-Link Zero
i agree.Toa Kaita wrote:Regardless of how the trail looks, it is most definitely desktop worthy.
its cool DW i see it now

Re: Earth-Link Zero
i have changed the angle some to help get rid of the illusion, i'll have another render up shortly
Re: Earth-Link Zero
And the script is done!! It took 2 and a half months and is 130 pages in length. It is now being edited by several volunteers

Re: Earth-Link Zero
yes, free mass advertising is a good thing. And facebook isn't that bad, I've been using it now for 3-ish months and this facebook hate is completely unjustified in my opinion
Re: Earth-Link Zero
Yeah, I know.
The only reason I'm not on Facebook is because I made a pact with some of my friends to never get onto it. (Non-conformists unite!)
Well, that, and because I don't like the idea of someone being able to google me.

if your privacy settings are like mine though, most they'll get is your name and picture, so it's no worse than being on this forum
Re: Earth-Link Zero
So after much consideration and talking and thinking and pondering and stressing and planning over the course of the last week, Chris K and myself have come to the inevitable conclusion that ELZ is beyond our reach with the given time constraints that we have and other minor things. So like 99.9% of all non-official, amateur films, it's dead. Well, shelved to be more exact. ELZ is going into cold storage and maybe someday, with enough time, luck and backbreaking work, it will be able to be pulled out of cryo and made somehow. So thank you to all who supported the project and we are quite sorry we wasted your time. The first episode of Chronicles will still be made because it's got a fair bit of work done and is only 10 min long, so at least we have that to look forward to.
Now even though ELZ has been shelved, Chris K and myself are quickly developing a new concept that we discussed this evening actually. It is much much smaller in scale compared to ELZ and is something that should be do-able in the next two months. So look for new info involving our new project currently named "Trinity".

Re: Earth-Link Zero
Wait, so can you give it to me so that I can pet it and put it underneath my bed at night?
And then, in the morning, I can do an uber sexy dance and then rip off my pants in a way that would make even Brian Johnson blush. (Though, in reality, he would probably raise an eyebrow)
We could eat strawberries together, and even make hand babies!
It would be so much fun!

Re: Earth-Link Zero
well you of all people should understand, considering you read the script and all. It's very...big. And to do it in two months working around people's work schedules and a whole variety of uncontrollable factors, there just isn't time to make it, which is really, really disappointing because I really wanted to make it, especially doing it live action would have been cool
Re: Earth-Link Zero
NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooOOOOOOO
i was really looking forward to that
hmm, but maybe you could make the Chronicles episode that you will make a little longer, with more of a storyline and a good ending instead of the cliffhanger that i suspect it would have ended with.

Re: Earth-Link Zero
the ELC ep will remain the same and we will be focusing our efforts on producing Trinity which is less awesome and epic than ELZ
Re: Earth-Link Zero
but... i like epic and awesome videos

Re: Earth-Link Zero
we're not 100% sure, we go the basic concept worked out some, but there's still a lot of development planning needed. We only came up with it last night
Re: Earth-Link Zero
I'm really kicking myself for us having to shelve this, and I really apologize to everyone that it couldnt be done in time. At least, not yet anyways.
Re: Earth-Link Zero
So you're doing something smaller to be done in two months, when ELZ took at least four months to get to the stage it was? Don't get me wrong, I'll take your word for it, for it means little to me.

To be completely honest, I think you are right. Nevertheless, it doesnt hurt to try.
Re: Earth-Link Zero
the project in general is smaller, so it won't take 2 months to write the script, cause it's a short film. And the type of short film it is is much easier to pull off. For one, it happens during modern day so there's no starships or sets or anything that have to be developed. This has like 4 people in it as opposed to the what, 30 or more in ELZ?

LOL
Well, I'm looking forward to his next project. DW is a talented writer, even if something doesn't get produced, it's still wonderful.
Note:
See, he does have friends.

Re: Earth-Link Zero
well, see I work with Toa making him a colleague. You and I have never really worked together on anything except perhaps this forum, but for the most part, it's just a social thing between you and I
Re: Earth-Link Zero
It is possible to become friends with colleagues, since after all, colleagues are acquaintances. LOL
Our social bond is what one could definitely call "a friendship".
I believe that you are simply afraid of becoming close to others.
Everything you do in your life, the way you write, your skills, hobbies, and opinions; they slowly unwrap and reveal an introverted man that seems to be scared, confused, and dissatisfied with himself.
I think you need a hug.
(Yes, dammit! I'm projecting! :sobbing:)

Re: Earth-Link Zero
You already know what's wrong, you're like me, you're quite good at self-diagnosis.
All you need is guidance. But I can't suggest you get that from me.
After all, you already know what I would say anyways.
If you do pursue direction, make sure that whomever you confide in for a compass is not lost himself.
When you think you know where to go, just jump into it and do the best you can.

Re: Earth-Link Zero
a compass, there's a good idea, might be good to get an outside opinion from a mechanical object. My cat is running out of advice for me. Ok, so my cat has never actually given me advice, but I continue to confide in her anyways......
why are you all looking at me like that?

Like what?
Cats are wonderful for advice! Dogs... not so much.
Unicorns....
BTW, that's totally DW ^

Re: Earth-Link Zero
nope, I'm still doing some last figuring to see if ELZ is in anyway, minutely possible to make, but as for Trinity, I'll post the concept later today
