I own an Acer, and they're supposed to be far worse than Dell! That's not what I expected!

Is anyone else now concerned?

Huh, HP is the worst. That's quite a surprise, i thought they'd be on the bottom of the list, and Dell the leader or near the top.

I still think Dell's stationary computers are shite, it's almost impossible to modify it in any way because of a really awkward and unnecessary internal design.

@DW Yeah, i found a 10 year old acer when i was helping a friend clean out an old apartment that belonged to some of his relatives, i deleted all the old content and he says it runs just fine, though really slow (like a 10 year old computer should be)

I'm using a Toshiba. Aparta from having to replace a fan and get a new screen after an incident, it hasn't had any problems for several years. Actually there is one problem. That being it uses windows XP.

I sort of like dell's compact internal (desk top) design. Unfortunately, that means a lot of heat!

Notebooks, as long as they have a cd drive, are thick.

I have a Dell laptop and a desktop. The desktop is at least 7 years old and it still (barely) works. The laptop is still working, even with Vista on it.

ok ok, there's an OS thread elsewhere, no blatant bashing. I am surprised that some of those Dells have lasted that long, any experience I've had with them has been a bad one

The OS thread has been created after that post, DW.

Anyway, yes. I find dell's results rather incredulous too.
