Stargate Command
Stargate Command is nearing the ability to be played to some extent, and though registration isn't open yet, I am looking for some organization leaders. We definitely need an SGC leader and perhaps a Lucian and Free Jaffa leader to get the ball rolling. If interested, please post here
Re: Stargate Command
shem, if you want to say negative things, do it in PM. the net is bigger than the 20 active members on here you know.

Re: Stargate Command
ok, cool, when everything's set up, i'll let faction leaders log on first to set up their organizations and learn the ropes, cause you'll all have to be experts before general registration is allowed
Re: Stargate Command
well if its like the starwars one ill have basic knowledge for it

Re: Stargate Command
Don't need to have one... same thing with star wars rpg... it's more like those "conquer the world" games were you start with a single region and must conquer a randomly generated world... but with more objectives than conquering the world...
Re: Stargate Command
stargate isnt that hard there are the 8 main factions tuari(humans) guaold, jaffa, lucien alliance, asgard, replicators.wraith and ancients
and they all use similar technology

Re: Stargate Command
Similar? Just the Asgard and the Ancients did make major inovations, like the inter-galactic drives and the stargate network... we, the Goa'uld, the Replicators and some of the wraith technology is copied from either the Ancients or the Asgard... or both!
Re: Stargate Command
all the technology is based of ancient design

Re: Stargate Command
actually, the asgards are the only ones who don't have copied from the ancients, although they were allies of the ancients.. and it must have existed a reason for that, right?
Then the replicators assimilated a major part of their most advanced technologies from the Asgard, so, here we have to faction that doesn't have copied from the ancients...
oh, an btw, I'm not including the Asurans in the replicator wing...

Re: Stargate Command
reigstrtation probably won't be open for several more weeks, and it's already implemented that certain sections are hidden to certain people. fir example, you guys as guests only see probably 1/4 of what is actually there at the moment
Re: Stargate Command
here's the logo for the game. it's based off of the main title on the site itself:

Re: Stargate Command
I get a headache every time i try to figure out what SG is about. So i think i better leave it alone till i've seen a few episodes. Which i'm doing right now.

Re: Stargate Command
Yeah. So far this is what i understand from the SG mod for star wars empire at war and some other stuff
The egyptians are some kind of super soldiers with snakehead helmets made of metal
For some reason, the humans produce all their ships underground. Even the huge cruisers
The pyramids are some kind of landing pads for.. some thing with a pyramid as a hangar
There's something on alaska (dont tell me)
The jaffa are some kind of... Black people with staffs that shoot laser beams
The tau'ri (terrans) want to explore, but always get shot up for some reason
And a bunch of other weird stuff.

Re: Stargate Command
eeerrrr, um, not quite, here, i'll explaion thge basic premise
Aboout 60-ish years ago there was a dig at Giza, in which the Stargate was found. It didn't have a DHD though (Dial home device) and nobody knew what it was. Over the years it had experiments done to it and was kept top secret and then left alone. In about the 1990s, a Dr Jackson figured out what the symbols on the Stargate were for and he managed to dial an address to the planet abydos. There they met up with the Gua'ould and Jaffa.

Re: Stargate Command
The pyramids were actually landing pads for the guao'ould motherships, who thousands of years ago took humans from earth and seeded planets with humans, as slaves for the gua'ould. The Jaffa are the servents of the Gua'ould and they carry a gau'ould symbiot in their abdomen until the symbiot is ready to take a host. They fight for the gau'ould because they believe they are gods, because they havce advanced power and have been brainwashed for thousands of years into believeing they're gods.
The Tau'ri explore the galaxy in an attempt to gathre advanced technologies to defend earth from gau'ould attack. The stargate is kept in Cheyenne mountain, deep underground. They're allies with many races, including the Asgard who are more advanced than the Gua'ould. The Asgard live in another galaxy all together.
The Ancients are the ascended beings who thousands of years ago built the stargate system among other things. they are basically the most advanced race to ever have existed and once used to live on earth, predating normal humans by about 10,000 years.

Re: Stargate Command
The Tau'ri over time manage to design their own ships from integrating alien and human technologues. They build all their stuff at area 51 in hangers underneath the ground for security reasons. The populace of earth still doesn't know about that Stargate's existance and that they're not alone in the universe.
There, I think that should get you straightened away

Re: Stargate Command
No, i understand the plot, but the plot is generally... weird. How the hell do they manage to construct and launch fleets of huge cruisers in area 51 without anyone noticing? And some other confusion due to the mod and some other, random stuff i've picked up but not been able to piece together. Probably because it's later in the show.

Re: Stargate Command
people do notice, but you know the whole "weapons testing" ruse, they like evacuate areas, and NASA knows about the SGC, so they look the other way and sometimes assist
Re: Stargate Command
i doubt nasa are in on i as the airforce can set up no fly zones of tthierown accord
Re: Stargate Command
NASA provide the SGC and the ships with space suits

Re: Stargate Command
Well, it is an air force endeavour, so I imagine their is a fair bit of personelle, and then over the seasons they train new recruits for the SGC instead of the airforce
Re: Stargate Command
yeah, i guess. But if it was real life, people would notice a few hundred people going missing when one of the ships blows up.
