Changing the map Empty Changing the map

Post by foofong1 2009-08-04, 19:14

Ok - so i'm giving flashgate a go - only i realised something today, i have no idea how to go about changing the map.

It's something i've never done before, and i'm interested in learning how to completely mod the BM map (which will ultimately become the stargate universe).

I'm sure i've seen it before where the map has been completely re-done....didn't one guy change it to reflect how the star trek galaxy is in star trek canon?

Thanks in advance from an eager beaver Smile

editing the map is relitively simple you got to the preloader find the planet data and the last two numbers before the ; are the co-ordinates on the map

maybe the systems could be like the ones in flashtrek, where there are multiple planets around 1 star.

actually that idea would be good for flashgate - because it would mean multiple stargates in a system...which would make the who,e stargate concept a lot better...

if it shows up as a ship, how about make it show up as a station? like it offers ships and cargo runs and merchants and stuff, but the sprite is of a planet.

My thoughts exactly!

I hadn't actually checked page 2, and i had thought that changing a station sprite to a planet would work....then i posted, and saw someone was a step ahead of me.... So i edited...
