because DW says so, i say so, and several others say so. Atlantis deviates away from the real stargate concept.

the concept is simple: the gates, teams of four, ground combat, light skirmishes and the tactics and strategies that go with it. besides, i think everyone has had enough of spaceships now. they unnecessarily complicate matters, they add nothing, and "ensign, warp" 10 tends to get boring after some time.

lolz, too harsh?

i like both atlantis and sg-1, but in different ways. I like sg-1 for the very reaons you stated, but i also like atlantis, because it's different new and added the spaceships to the stargate concept that i felt there wasn't enough of. They can't really be compared, because they focus on different things.
