Do you think some of star trek can happen? Like faster than light travel, humanity evolving (morally and physically, like no death sentence, no rascism (human to human at least)), longer lifespans, no headaches or common cold etc etc)? And do you think there's other intelligent life out there?

Well, to start with, Britain hasn't got a death sentence now, letalone in the future. And yes, eventually there will be an underclass and an overclass of humans.

hey, a lot of tech we use even today is based off of tek tech. take cell phones = original communicator

square um, data cards = flash drives

impulse drive = impulse drive

phasers = tasers

Actually ALL of the EU has no death sentence, it's a membership requirement. And yes, because replicators probably arent possible to make in rl, there will be classes of rich and poor people.

duh, the Firefox developers aren't ALL geeks, you know...

anyway, have to agree with DJ, although the stun mode does remind me of tasers.

Yeah i think it's lasers, the US airforce is turning lasers into a weapon that will probably be like a phaser except the color. But does anyone think we'll develop faster than light travel? I think einstein had some theory that said matter cant travel faster than light or it disintegrates or something

not disintegrating. simply no acceleration any more.

you know that time is relative, right? when you reach high speeds (for an example, the fastest a human has ever gone with the Apollo missions) your time will slow. this is NOT a theory, it has been proven. every Apollo mission had two atomic clocks: one on earth, one in the craft. after coming back all the clocks in the crafts consistently were behind. well, this slowing continues till a standstill. when is this standstill? at C, the speed of light. how does one get faster than a certain speed? by accelerating. how do you accelerate when time stands still? answer: you don't. it's simply impossible to go faster than light.

at least, in this dimension, in these space-time conditions.

Yes, we cant travel faster than light the normal way, in other words without any special conditions but there is a theory on how to go faster than light with a warp drive, yes, a real warp drive, except this one needs an antimatter storage the size of jupiter to move 10 meters at FTL speed, so it's not very useful, and once you've figured out how to create a bubble in space where there isnt one, how to use less anti matter and entered the bubble, you have to figure out how to get out of it on your own.

all we need for faster than light travel is a whole lotta gas but in all sense why does time stop after the speed of light something must go faster than light like maybe a type of radiTION NOT FOUND ON EARTH soz caps

no, it's tasers. the purpose of the phaser isn't to kill, rather more stun. The phaser itself isn't a laser, there are differences in the beam. The phaser is also the perfect grenade, especially the tos phasers
