The article wrote:"massive improvement" over Vista

*Rolls eyes*. Like Microsoft could do worse than Vista? Then again, I wouldn't be surprised.

And the Linux on everything bit intrigues me. Maybe I will actually use it should such a thing happen.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

@ Everyone else

Windows 7 actually doesn't look too bad.

But... I really don't see much of anything new and shockingly amazing about it.

The eye candy looks just like Vista.

It's kinda like they just decided to create an uncrappy Vista. LOL!

Well, at least that's what i've heard.

Oh, and yes, the operating systems will continue to get heavier, due to the fact that programs are getting bigger, due to the fact that hardware capacity is getting awesomely huge.

But, you do have to remember that sometimes, like in Microsoft's case, they like to make their operating systems a little bit heavier (to say the least) than other operating systems.

Why?

Think about this..

You know how when usually when you buy a new computer, regardless of where you get it, it has windows on it?

That's because Microsoft has their hands in all of the hardware companies.

When the hardware companies make money, Microsoft makes money.

Example:

Microsoft makes their Operating systems heavier, so that you will sometimes have to get a new computer (or new/more hardware) if you want to change operating systems..

So, Microsoft and the hardware companies make money, and have a cocktail party together.

cheers

LOL!

You know there are really lightweight linux distros out there that are modern, and awesome.

I could post a few if anyone is interested.

See... Ubuntu is better than windows why? Because it is made in a community! The community makes changes as soon has someone with knowledge of programing detects a bug and try to fix it... The Company only makes changes when it is better for their chests...

Yes please. I might burn one onto a CD.

But first, how would I do that? Could I use Windows Media Player, or do you just mean save onto a CD?
