EDIT: BTW, why can't I install programs in ubuntu?

it sucks. just thought i'd throw in my two cents there. been using it a while on one pc, it's ok, but i'd even prefer microsoft works over this. in my opinion, microsoft office is still better.

Well, I've used it before, but currently, I've got Microsoft office (I didn't buy it, though Twisted Evil ).

I personally like open office mainly because it's free. I haven't downloaded version 3 yet so I can't wait to check it out. It is programed using java so it should work on just about any OS. I hope they changed the apperence since it looks kinda old.

I like Microsoft Office better also, but I have to agree with Stewie, the freeness does help. LOL!
