Oh, I have something to ask you... Do you have all the sprites? I can make some Star Trek, Star Wars or get you some stargate ones...

I wouldn't mind having many new sprites. I want to replace 7 ships I put into the game (just to take up space until I could find some ship sprites) with new sprites, but I'm not sure exactly what kinds. If you'd like to take up this project (as you ARE the master at ship spriting!) I implore you to try and make sprites of the Galaxy Quest ship (NSEA Protector), the Andromeda, and maybe some ships from EVE Online, Farscape, and/or Freespace, though feel free to make a ship or two (or three for that matter) of your own. Just make them very original, which I think you're more than capable of doing!

Well, since I can't find some decent schematics of that gorgeous ship anywhere, it doesn't seem like I'll be making a sprite soon....

DARN... Well, whatever other ships you can think up will do nicely. Maybe that ship from Alien (forgot what it was called) and/or the big capital ship on Halo (of the marine guys... not the Covenant). I'm sure you can find some great schematics for those, though I doubt any top-down views. But you're a sprite wizard, you'll magically whip up something great for my name isn't Smitty Witzhezzelbarger... And it's not! XD

Look, guys, don't get too excited.... I'm not sure if I can make any of Meganew's ships, but I have about a hundred (And I'm not exaggerating) Battlestars and stuff, and I also got some fan-made jedi starfighters and starwars stuff.... I'll make them (Ok, i won't make all the battlestars) even if Jerome doesn't need them, because someone might, for other purposes....

Alright, so I had an idea. I will 'version' -alize the final piece of work when I finish the mod. Here's the versions I plan on making, and they should only require minimal editing and such as well:

1) Flashiverse (stats and such are not quite canon but fit with the Broken Mirror style of starting off in a small craft with one weapon or so and moving forward to other vessels) (The sprites used for this will perhaps be all made by Raffitz in the 3d style)
2) Scenario (start off with different ships as a high-ranking officer in one of the factions and build up a fleet) (Most likely the 3d sprites will be used here also)
3) Canon (to settle disputes and such I will carefully set the stats of ships to be more canon-based) (Sprites will be in a dark and gritty realistic style, or just based on statistics and images of the ships themselves)

I already had the idea, but I thought Raffitz's sprites looked so much different (awesome different, by the way!) that they probably wouldn't meld in well with the sprites I already have. I use GIMP, he uses Photoshop, so there are differences. So I thought that since Raffitz's symbolized the 3d gaming genre so well in a top-down view, I'd put his sprites into the more 'gamy' flashiverse and such (provided of course he's willing to make all the sprites, which I'm still not sure of yet), then the sprites I have currently into the canon game.

Currently, it's still in Alpha development and the stats are 'flashiverse'. I've mixed some of Raffitz's sprites into it too. Many of the sprites I have right now are of Raffitz's Flashgate and Broken Mirror I quality, so they easily stand out. To avoid confusion, I've decided that (hopefully) with Raffitz's agreement, we'll have photoshop styles of the sprites in two versions and GIMP styles in the third. I personally like Raffitz's sprites best, but to avoid copying the quality of Darkwing's BMIII, I'm trying to use the ol'-style BMI quality for at least one version of my mod ^^

Anyways, feel free to discuss this and make comments (no flaming though).

well, don't feel like you have to tone it down just because of BM3. There are some sprites that Raffitz is making for the heck of it that would be cool to see in something. I have had an idea for BM3 thoguh, which I'll post there

I think then again I will do two different versions of the game perhaps. I want to stay true to the style of the original Broken Mirror with sprites and such, but Raffitz's style is so... So BMIII I just have to make a version with his sprites! I've got an idea to make two versions mostly the same, but perhaps with slightly different galaxies and different settings in general.

Oh yeah, I just killed somebody with my thumb. They made fun of Raffitz's sprites. But he's dead now, so it has all been taken care of!

Exactly! I would feel guilty for using the style of BMIII, I'd feel like I was plagiarizing XP Plus, I don't want to show favoritism between Vex and Raffitz. I like their sprites both too greatly! Raffitz brought a whole new style that I want to use, but I also don't want to make Vex think I've taken his game and made it my own by changing the entire style of it! Since I can't pick between the two (out of personal favorites, I do like Raffitz's best actually XD) I think I'll make two versions! Both the same game-wise (I'll try to make both with canon stats) but taking place in different times chronologically in the megauniverse! I think I'll even let Raffitz choose his favorite sci-fi to become a major power in the second version (that will take place after the first)
