Okay, first off, I'd like to reiterate the request not to post comments on this thread until the entire script is posted. This will allow people to read it through before getting distracted by comments. You can post your comments in the Sliders Reunion thread for now or hold onto them until the script is finished (give me at least a week or two).
Thanks in advance for your understanding in this matter.

Also, I'll be posting the script in a non-standard form. The reason: to save space. A script is designed to have a LOT of empty space on the page. This isn't practical for a forum so it may look weird but it will read just fine.

Finally, for legal reasons, I must note here that "Sliders" the characters, images, and voices, as well as all intellectual property (references and otherwise) are the sole property and copyrighted material of Universal Studios and St. Clare Entertainment.

Sliders Script (Do not post here until script is finished) Empty Teaser

Post by eravenheart 2008-07-13, 15:23

TEASER

EXT -- EARTH PRIME - STREET -- DAY
**Special note: Earth Prime is designated as the starting point from which the original Sliders departed. It is considered "our" earth.**
The blasted, rubble-strewn streets of San Francisco are devoid of life. Damage from the war is nearly total, though some buildings remain partially standing. Amazingly, the CHANDLER HOTEL remains upright, though it is pocked with energy weapon blast craters.
In the street outside the hotel, a RED VORTEX appears, swirling and emitting a HOWLING windstorm-like sound. Moments later, 3 other VORTEXES, identical to the first, open in the other 3 cardinal directions. The four vortexes face a central point. 4 yelling VOICES can be heard, rising out of some unseen distance.
REMBRANDT BROWN emerges from the first vortex and crashes to the street below in a painful heap. Three others shoot out of the other vortexes and land in a similar fashion. These three remain unseen. The four vortexes close with a FLASH and SOUND.
Remmie sits up and looks around wildly, expecting the Kromagg cavalry to swoop down on him. When he sees, instead, the other three lying in various positions around him, his jaw drops in shock.
**Excuse the dialog. This format does not support proper dialogue presentation. I will keep it centered to help differentiate it from action.**

REMMIE
Oh my God!

Sitting on the ground around him looking at each other in shock are QUINN MALLORY, WADE WELLES, and MAXIMILLIAN ARTURO.

OPENING CREDITS

**Final Note: In order to present the story properly, I will stay within the 7 Act structure of television writing. After each Act is a commercial break.**

Sliders Script (Do not post here until script is finished) Empty Act 1

Post by eravenheart 2008-07-13, 15:40

ACT ONE
EXT. EARTHPRIME SAN FRANCISCO STREET -- MOMENTS LATER
The four original sliders sit facing one another, shocked.
REMMY
It's not possible.
WADE
Remmy?

All four slowly stand, never looking away from each other. They seem wary.
WADE
Is it really you?

Remmy nods, bewildered. Wade yells and jumps into his arms, crying. Arturo's sonorous laugh fills the air as he and Quinn smile at each other.
Remmy puts Wade down as Quinn and Arturo join the hug.
EXT. EARTHPRIME SAN FRANCISCO STREET -- MOMENTS LATER
The tears are still evident as each of them stand apart.
REMMY
How the devil is this possible?
QUINN
I don't know.
REMMY
But you're all... I mean, I was on the Seer world and...
WADE
Seer? The old guy with the heart condition? The one who made that stupid television show?

Remmy nods.
WADE
That's where I was...
QUINN
Me too.
ARTURO
As was I.
WADE
That's impossible. We would have seen each other.
ARTURO
Obviously, we were on parallel worlds, Miss Welles.
QUINN
Identical worlds?
ARTURO
Not precisely.
WADE
What do you mean?
REMMY
Maybe now isn't the best time. The Kromaggs could be here any second.
QUINN
He's right. We'd better get off the street. We'll sort it out later.

All four look toward the Chandler.
ALL
The Chandler?

They all laugh.
ARTURO
My boy, it seems some things don't change.

They trot off toward the ruined hotel, not noticing the skeletal remains of several people in a blasted car.

INT. CHANDLER HOTEL -- MOMENTS LATER

The front door falls off as Quinn pushes it open. The four enter quickly, looking around cautiously.
The lobby is a blasted ruin. Dust and debris lie everywhere. Most of the furniture is gone or destroyed.
REMMY
I've seen this place in bad shape before but this just breaks my heart.
ARTURO
Indeed, Mr. Brown.

Remmy smiles and looks at Arturo. Before he can say anything, Wade cries out. All turn to her. Wade is pointing toward the seating area. Several skeletons lay amidst the ruined furniture. They bear scorch marks but it is obvious they have been there for a while.
Quinn and Arturo make their way over as Remmy comforts Wade. After a quick inspection, Quinn looks back to Remmy.
QUINN
All human.
ARTURO
Odd. I would have expected the Kromaggs by now. They must have detected our vortex. Where the devil are they.
REMMY
I'd just as soon they stay away, Professor.

Quinn walks behind the counter and grabs up a key.
QUINN
I geuss we get our usual room.

He and Arturo head for the stairs. Wade is still looking at the skeletons. One is obviously a child. Remmy puts his arm around her shoulders and kisses her temple.
REMMY
Come on, Wade.

Wade turns and hugs him fiercely, crying.
REMMY
Shhh, girl. It's all right.
WADE
All the worlds. All the death and destruction.
REMMY
I know.

Wade steps back and wipes at her eyes.
WADE
It's stupid. I thought when I jumped that I'd arrive and everything would be...
REMMY
That everything would be okay.
WADE
Yeah.
REMMY
So did I.

He holds her close again.
REMMY
Let's go upstairs.

INT. SUITE -- LATER

Remmy gets up from the bed where Wade sleeps.
REMMY
She'll be all right.
ARTURO
She's exhausted. Both physically and emotionally.
REMMY
We all are, Professor.

He smiles and laughs.
REMMY
You don't know how good it feels to say that.
ARTURO
(stoic, as always)
It is good to see you as well, Mr. Brown.

Quinn is next to the window. He turns.
QUINN
The Quasar World, where we met Maggie and Rickman.

Remmy looks confused.
ARTURO
What about it?
QUINN
We were together until then.
REMMY
That's right.
ARTURO
Nonsense. We all left that world together.
QUINN
Not from my point of view. Rickman murdered you on that world, Professor.
REMMY
He's right, Professor.
ARTURO
That sod! Surely you jest, Mr. Mallory.

Quinn and Remmy look at each other, pained.
REMMY
No, that's what happed, Professor.
ARTURO
Nonsense, Mr. Brown. Miss Beckett shot the man and he slid out. She went with us to track him down.
QUINN
Different paths.
ARTURO
Different choices, Mr. Mallory. Think about it. What do all the worlds we've been to have in common?
REMMY
Almost nothing, Professor. And they were getting stranger all the time.
ARTURO
I'm speaking of choices, Mr. Brown. Or chance or fate or whatever you want to call it. Do you remember the Azure Gate Bridge world?

Remmy and Quinn nod.
ARTURO
That world was, in every other way, our world. Oh, there were minor differences but that was the big one.
QUINN
And the fact that you didn't slide with us.
ARTURO
Quite correct, my boy.
REMMY
So, what? You're all doubles from other worlds?
ARTURO
Including you, Mr. Brown. My point is, all the worlds were born from some decision point. Why should the four of us be immune to that?
QUINN
Our actions created new dimensions. Of course.
REMMY
So we are doubles.
QUINN
Not necessarily. I'd have to check our quantum signatures but I think...

He pauses, thinking. Arturo looks at him, pleased.
ARTURO
Go on, Mr. Mallory. I think you've got it.
QUINN
The four of us created our own worlds. We are the originals. The people we traveled with were doubles. Of us.

Remmy looks confused again.
REMMY
I guess I should have paid more attention to Diana. So the Quinn I knew was a double? What about your brother?
QUINN
Brother? I don't have a brother.
REMMY
You do. Don't you remember? Colin? Kromagg Prime? Your birth parents?

Quinn shakes his head. Remmy cups his head in his hands and groans.
REMMY
My brain hurts.

Quinn grips his shoulder.
QUINN
You're tired. We all are.
ARTURO
We should take our cue from Miss Welles there and get some sleep. Then we must find out what happened here.
REMMY
Where the Kromaggs are.
QUINN
And why all the people here are dead.
REMMY
Whatever happened, it's DARN good to see you all again.
QUINN
You too Remmie.

They look to one another again, smiling.

Sliders Script (Do not post here until script is finished) Empty Act 2

Post by eravenheart 2008-07-13, 15:59

ACT TWO

INT. SUITE -- MORNING
Wade gently shakes Remmy awake. He stirs and looks up at her. His face softens at the sight of her.
WADE
Good morning, sleepy head.
REMMY
Aw, girl. It is now.
He sits up and hugs her.
REMMY
I was afraid it was a dream.
WADE
It isn't.
REMMY
What time is it?
WADE
Morning. You looked so tired, we didn't want to wake you.
REMMY
Where are Quinn and the Professor?
WADE
Quinn wanted to test his quantum theory about us. He and the Professor went to find equipment.

Remmy gets up and looks out the window. All is devastated and devoid of life. Wade steps up next to him.
REMMY
I guess we get to find out what happened here.
WADE
Yeah.

Remmy starts to scratch the arm he injected on the Seer World. Wade notices.
WADE
Mine itches too.

She shows Remmy her arm. A large, purple bruise stands out on her pale skin.
REMMY
Was the blood tainted?
WADE
Quinn and the Professor had bruises too. They don't know why.

Remmy returns to look out on the world with a sad gaze, absently rubbing his arm.
WADE
Come on, Remmy. Let's get started.

INT. QUINN'S BASEMENT -- DAY

The basement lab is in ruins. Quinn sits at a table filled with spare parts and tools. Arturo looks through a pile of machinery in the corner.
QUINN
Find it?
ARTURO
Oh, yes, Mr. Mallory, I just thought to dig through the junk pile a little more. It's so much fun.
QUINN
All we need is a stable power source and this thing should give us the answer.
ARTURO
Aha!

He stands, holding up a small piece of machine with wires coming out of every side. He walks back to Quinn and hands him the device. Quinn studies it a moment.
QUINN
This should do. Now, if I can only get it to work.
ARTURO
I have complete confidence in your abilities, dear boy. What I don't have is confidence in this world.

Quinn looks up at the professor.
QUINN
What do you mean? That it's not our earth?
ARTURO
No, not that. Sadly, this empty, war-ravaged shell of a world is surely our home. What I mean is, we may not want to remain here.
QUINN
None of us has a timer.
ARTURO
Yes, precisely so. Which means, Mr. Mallory, that we may have to build a new one.
QUINN
It took us most of the day to scrounge these parts. And believe me, Professor, this machine is crude. It'll make a typewriter look like advanced technology. Besides, all the coordinates were lost when the timer was destroyed. We'd be back to sliding at random.
ARTURO
Yes, but we would be in control. No more countdown. As for time, it appears we have plenty.

Quinn begins to install the part into his device.
QUINN
The Kromaggs were here. There may be a base with the technology we need.
ARTURO
My thoughts exactly.
Quinn puts down his tools and looks up at Arturo.
QUINN
So, all we have to do is find it, get inside and past any security devices, all of which could kill us, slowly and painfully, and, once inside, hope the parts we need are there, which won't work without a power source and finally slide out of here on a random wormhole and hope to hell we land somewhere worth staying.
ARTURO
Precisely.
QUINN
Oh. And here I thought it might have been something hard.
Arturo laughs and claps Quinn on the shoulder.
ARTURO
It's good to have you back, my boy.

INT. LIBRARY -- DAY

Wade and Remmy are peering through newspapers. They look tired and disheveled.
The library is mostly in ruins, books and papers scattered.
WADE
A Kromagg Breeder Camp? You can't be serious!
REMMY
It's not like there was a choice, darlin'.

Wade throws the paper in her hand. It flutters to the ground.
WADE
It's like someone's idea of a really bad joke. But I'm not laughing.
REMMY
Neither am I.

Remmy shifts through a stack of papers while Wade fumes. He picks up one with a large picture on the front page.
REMMY
Here's something.

The headline reads: BELEAGUERED AIR FORCE STRIKES BACK
REMMY
It says the 'Magg base was just outside of San Francisco.
WADE
Did they win?
REMMY
(reading)
It's pretty vague. They must have done some damage.
WADE
But how did the war end?
REMMY
It think it's pretty obvious, don't you?
WADE
Yeah, but what happened to kill everyone?
REMMY
We may not find out. Papers don't print themselves.
WADE
(suddenly furious)
Then what the hell's the point?

Remmy looks up, startled. Wade is nearly out of control with rage. He stands up, concerned.
REMMY
Wade? What is it, girl? What's wrong.
WADE
I don't know!
The rage snaps, leaving her confused.
WADE
I'm not... I don't know. It was like I couldn't control myself. I've been on a hair trigger all day.

She sighs unhappily and tries on a smile. It's not very convincing.
WADE
I feel okay now, I guess.

Remmy scratches his arm unconsciously.
REMMY
Tell you the truth, I've been feeling that way myself. Always on edge. I thought it was stress.

He catches himself scratching and frowns.
REMMY
Maybe it isn't.

Wade looks at her own blackened bruise nervously.
WADE
I'm scared, Remmy.
He hugs her close.
REMMY
Me too, girl. Me too.

INT. QUINN'S BASEMENT -- DAY
Quinn and the Professor are sitting opposite each other at the clutter-strewn table. Bits of wire and scavenged parts litter the area. Quinn has a mostly completed DEVICE in front of him. He works on it with a small INSTRUMENT.
QUINN
Professor? How did it go for you?

Arturo is working on a POWER SOURCE for the device.
ARTURO
What do you mean?
QUINN
Remmy and Wade both experienced things similar to me. We all saw Rickman shoot you.
ARTURO
I've been giving the idea some thought. In all four of our... alternate universes I suppose. In each, the four of us lost our original three companions in similar circumstances. Wade to the Breeder Camps, you to a wormhole fluctuation...
QUINN
(angrily)
Which is a load of crap. The wormhole can't do that...
ARTURO
Soft, Mr. Mallory, soft.
QUINN
Don't tell me what to do!

Quinn looks up, angry. The look fades into confusion.
QUINN
What the hell is wrong with me?
ARTURO
I think it may be this virus in our systems. I've been on the edge of madness all day.

He scratches his arm impatiently.
ARTURO
And this itch is maddening.
QUINN
I'm sorry, Professor. I shouldn't have snapped like that.
ARTURO
It's all right, lad.
QUINN
It isn't though. I haven't seen you in three years and now I yell at you for no reason.
ARTURO
I believe the moodiness will pass. Already, the bruises are fading. Until then, we'll just have to muddle through as we always have.

Quinn smiles in spite of himself.
QUINN
You always know what to say, Professor.
ARTURO
Indeed, my boy. But, back to your question. Each of us were following a similar course. In fact, in some places, they were identical.
QUINN
Except for me.

Arturo looks up.
QUINN
The three of you met this Colin fellow. In my universe, I had no brother. I wasn't the abandoned son of Slider parents on Kromagg prime.
ARTURO
True, but you found someone who was.
QUINN
Maggie's husband Stephen.
ARTURO
Precisely. So we each followed this path which, inexplicably, led us all back here to be reunited after losing our versions of one another.
QUINN
But why?
ARTURO
I'm more concerned about the how. I'm a man of science, not theology.
QUINN
(grinning)
Does science give you the answer?

Arturo sighs heavily.
ARTURO
No more than theology.
Quinn's grin widens.
ARTURO
Well, I'm not completely stupid, boy.

ACT THREE

INT. SUITE -- NIGHT

The group is sitting around the suite, eating from old cans. There's not much pleasure in the act, but simply a performing of a necessary function.

They look tired and out-of-sorts, ready to snap from the emotional toll of their ordeal and the effect of the virus.

Candlelight sheds poor illumination across the room, creating shadows that look almost sinister.

Quinn is holding the Quantum Spectrometer next to Arturo.

REMMY
You sure this virus thing is fading. I'm ready to go completely bonkers.

ARTURO
I don't know, Mr. Brown. I can only guess at the moment.

The Spectrometer hums and beeps once. Quinn sets it down.

QUINN
That's it. All identical.

Remmy looks at the makeshift device.

REMMY
I can't believe that thing actually works.

Quinn looks up crossly but manages to bite his tongue.

QUINN
By all rights, it shouldn't.

ARTURO
But it does confirm our hypothesis.

WADE
The quasar world.

ARTURO
Precisely, Miss Welles. I believe that is where our paths diverged.

WADE
But how?

QUINN
The quasar must have split the vortex when we slid out.

REMMY
I don't think so, Q-ball. Only three of us share the same memory when we slid from there. The Professor slid out with our doubles in his memory but the rest of us saw him die on that world. So the divergence had to have happened before the Professor's death since he's sitting right over there. I think the quasars must have effected the vortex before we arrived. Or maybe we slid by an alternate universe where the Quasars were a little ahead of schedule. Either way, the energy pulse must have split our vortex as it opened on that world, sending each of us to our own different reality.

The others look at Remmy, amazed.

REMMY
I guess Diana did rub off on me a little. But think about it. You remember the fight we had, Q-Ball? Or how we all started to grow distant from each other?

Quinn nods. Arturo and Wade join him.

ARTURO
I believe Mr. Brown to be correct. Although I still don't believe Rickman could get the drop on me so easily. Getting my brain matter sucked out, shot, and then left on a world that explodes? It's like a horrific plot twist on an otherwise good story.

WADE
But he didn't, Professor. He got your doubles.

ARTURO
Still, it's quite maddening.

Quinn looks at Arturo and sees the anger there.

QUINN
What did you two find out at the library?

Arturo frowns at Quinn, then smiles.

ARTURO
Very diplomatic, lad. It's still called changing the subject.

Quinn grins. Wade snickers.

REMMY
The Seer world wasn't the only world to develop a Kromagg virus.

ARTURO
Biological warfare is hardly unknown on our world.

REMMY
But something went wrong.

WADE
The virus mutated after it was released.

QUINN
That's what killed everyone?

REMMY
(nodding)
Human and Kromagg alike. The papers reported the first outbreaks...

WADE
Here in San Francisco...

REMMY
The papers stopped printing five days after those reports. Apparently the virus worked quickly.

ARTURO
Who created the virus?

WADE
The papers said it was the government.

Quinn looks at the bruise on his arm.

QUINN
It's a good bet we're all infected.

WADE
If we are, we should be dead already. The virus killed humans within 12 hours of infection.

ARTURO
And we've been here a day and a half.

QUINN
Maybe the virus from the seer world is protecting us.

REMMY
Yeah. It's the only thing we could think of.

Wade nods at this.

ARTURO
Why did the virus start here?

WADE
The 'Magg's main base was here.

QUINN
In San Francisco?

REMMY
Well, just outside the city. It is where the invasion started, remember?

Quinn nods.

ARTURO
We may be in luck, lad.

QUINN
Deadly traps?

ARTURO
Certainly.

QUINN
Little hope of success?

ARTURO
Of course. We are Sliders, Mr. Mallory.

Quinn grins and Arturo returns it. Remmy and Wade look at each other, confused.

REMMY
You want to let us in?

QUINN
We're going to build a new timer.

ARTURO
Unless the two of you plan to stay here.

Wade looks at Arturo, pained.

WADE
All the time we looked for home.

REMMY
And now we have to leave. This just sucks.

WADE
It isn't fair.

Remmy puts an arm around her and pulls her close as she cries.

REMMY
Life rarely is, girl.

Arturo moves over to them and helps to confort Wade. Remmy puts a hand on Arturo's shoulder and smiles wanly. Quinn stands up.

QUINN
I'm gonna head back to my house and get everything I'll need. We can head to the 'Magg base tomorrow.

He hunkers down in front of Wade.

QUINN
We'll be all right Wade. I promise.

She hugs him fiercely.

ARTURO
Be careful, Quinn.

Quinn nods and kisses Wade on the cheek.

QUINN
I will. Take care of her.

He heads for the door as Arturo nods.

INT. QUINN'S BASEMENT -- NIGHT

Quinn walks down the stairs, a candle in hand. He moves to the workbence, sets down the candle, and pulls the quantum spectrometer from his pocket.

He looks at it for a moment.

QUINN
We'll have to salvage what we can out of this.

As he sets the device down, there is a CLATTER behind him. Quinn jumps and spins around in surprise, grabbing up one of his dinosaurs and brandishing it like some ridiculous club.

A pair of eyes, glinting in the candlelight, come out of the darkness. They slink forward. Quinn raises the dinosaur, not realizing the ineffiency of the weapon.

Before he can act any further, a meow rises out of the darkness. Quinn stops and stares.

QUINN
Schrodinger?

The furry grey cat melts out of the shadows, meowing again. Quinn laughs nervously as the cat entwines itself around his legs.

He looks at the dinosaur in his hand and laughs again.

QUINN
I almost brained you with a t-rex, you stupid cat. What are you doing here?

Schrodinger looks up at his as if that was the stupidest question he could've asked.

QUINN
I know, dumb question, right?

Quinn tosses the dinosaur down and picks up the cat. Schrodinger nuzzles up to Quinn's chin and purrs.

QUINN
It's good to see you too, furrball. How did you survive.

Quinn looks at the cat again. It is filty, the furr matted with mud and what looks like blood.

QUINN
On second thought, I don't want to know.

Quinn sets the cat down. Schrodinger meows up at him.

QUINN
Sorry, Schrode. I've got work to do.

Quinn starts to gather up his tools. Schrodinger meows and rubs against his arm. Quinn nudges the cat aside, picking up a tool beneath the cat.

QUINN
Sorry boy, but I need that.

Schrodinger, unperturbed, walks across the table and nuzzles the quantum spectrometer. The device lights up and beeps. Quinn looks up, exasperated.

QUINN
Schrode...

He reaches over and picks up the device.

QUINN
There isn't much power in this. We need to save...

He trails off, staring down at the device, which is pointed at the cat. His eyes go wide.

QUINN
Oh my god.

INT. SUITE -- NIGHT

Quinn bursts into the room, out of breath, and startling his sleeping companions. He has Scrodinger under one arm and the spectrometer in his other hand. They all sit up with a jerk. Remmy sees him and relaxes.

REMMY
DARN it, Q-Ball, you scared the devil out of me.

Wade sees Quinn's eyes.

WADE
Quinn? What's wrong?

Quinn holds the device up.

QUINN
We're not home.

The others look at him in shock.

Sliders Script (Do not post here until script is finished) Empty Act 4

Post by eravenheart 2008-07-23, 03:54

First of all, sorry about the delay. It's been tough figuring out what I need to do to pick up the pace a little.

INT. SUITE -- MOMENTS LATER

ARTURO
What do you mean, "we're not home?"

Quinn is sitting on the bed. Schrodinger sits in Wade's lap, enjoying the attention she gives him. Remmy is standing near the window.

REMMY
This is home, Quinn. We knew that three years ago when the 'Maggs invaded.

Quinn hands the spectrometer to Arturo.

QUINN
See for yourself.

Arturo aims the device at Quinn, confused.

QUINN
Not me. Schrodinger.

Arturo silently runs the device over the cat.

REMMY
What kind of name is that for a cat?

Arturo's face falls as he studies the result.

ARTURO
By God, he's right.

REMMY
That can't be right. You found home on the Quasar world. We came back after we got Rickman's timer. Everything was exactly right.

Quinn looks at Arturo, who nods unhappily.

QUINN
It's why the cat's name is Schrodinger.

REMMY
I know this. The cat in the box, right?

WADE
What cat?

ARTURO
In 1935, Erwin Schrodinger postulated that a cat place in a box with a vial of poison that will break only on a random occurence is both alive and dead while the box is closed and the fate of the cat remains unknown.

WADE
I don't get it. Both alive and dead?

ARTURO
Precisely Miss Welles. When the box is opened, 1 of 2 possible outcomes occurs. Either the cat is alive or the cat is dead. Until the box is opened, however, the 2 possiblities remain decoherent from each other.

REMMY
Huh?

WADE
But only one happens, right?

ARTURO
In one world, yes.

QUINN
Looking at Schrodinger's cat, Hugh Everett stated that, at the point the box is opened, reality splits. In one universe, the cat lives. In the second, the cat dies.

ARTURO
You see, Miss Welles, every decision point has the potential to create an alternate universe. This world, this "universe," may differ from ours by only the slightest bit, perhaps even one insignificant decision point, but the Quantum Spectrometer can detect that. Mr. Mallory's cat does not share our quantum signature.

WADE
But the four of us?

ARTURO
Exact in every way. We four are the ones who started this journey.

WADE
That means we can still get home? Our families and friends?

QUINN
Still alive. And waiting for us.

REMMY
Then when do we leave?

QUINN
The Professor and I can make a new timer, if the 'Magg base has the tech we need. We'd be sliding randomly since we have no coordinates, but we can finally remove the countdown.

REMMY
How?

QUINN
The 'Maggs can slide at will and can control their destination.

ARTURO
Which means we could also return to any world we have coordinates for.

REMMY
Maybe the 'Maggs have our home coordinates?

WADE
I hope not. They attack anything not theirs.

QUINN
We'll check but I say we leave the Kromagg's behind and find our way home.

REMMY
Amen to that, Q-Ball.

Arturo stands up and strokes the cat awkwardly.

ARTURO
Thank you, you horrid little ball of fur. I suggest we try to get some sleep for tomorrow we must infiltrate the Kromagg base. It will not be easy.

EXT. KROMAGG BASE -- DAY

The base sits on a hilltop. It shows signs of serious damage but appears intact. The backdrop of a blasted, ruined San Francisco bears tribute to the destruction of this world.

INT. MAGG BASE ENTRY -- DAY

The four enter a hall littered with rubble. Wiring and panels hang from the walls in a jumble. Two light bars are lit, one flickering. The rest are a smashed ruin.

Quinn looks up at the flickering light.

QUINN
There's still power here.

ARTURO
A mixed blessing, to be sure.

At a look from the others, he eloborates.

ARTURO
While the equipment we'll need will function, so shall the security systems.

Wade and Remmy examine the hall nervously.

REMMY
I guess there's nothing to do but do it.

QUINN
Yeah, but be careful.

WADE
Definitely.

They move forward, Quinn in the lead. A few steps in, a panel whips open and a device on a metal arm erupts from the wall.

WADE
Look out.

Quinn jumps but before he can move, the device is on him. It emits a hollow beam of light and runs up and down his body. Quinn watches it nervously, standing stock still.

REMMY
Back up, Q-ball.

Quinn tries to look over his shoulder without moving his head.

QUINN
Too late.

The scanner finishes and the light shuts off. It returns to the wall with a snap and the panel closes behind it. The group looks around, expecting the worst. After several tense moments, they realize that nothing is going to happen and breath a sigh of relief.

WADE
What's going on?

As if in answer, a second panel opens, revealing a computer screen. The Kromagg language scrolls across the screen. Wade steps forward, approaching the screen.

Quinn takes Wade by the arm.

QUINN
Careful, Wade.

Wade shakes off his arm.

WADE
It's okay. Its a readout of the base's operations. I want to check it out.

REMMY
You can read that?

Wade looks at Remmy like he's crazy.

WADE
Of course I do. Don't you remember? I picked it up after we were captured...

She sees Remmy's blank stare and stops. Sudden realization dawns.

WADE
Oh, right. Sorry. I forgot. That was a double. But yeah. I can read Kromagg.

ARTURO
What does it say?

Wade studies the screen, taps an icon, which produces a new screen, this one with a schematic of the base, and studies again.

WADE
Main power is offline. The main generator isn't working. The back up gennie is powering only the basic systems.

REMMY
Is that why we didn't get fried? No power to the defenses?

WADE
Uh-uh. They're working fine.

She taps another icon, producing a stream of text. She reads for a moment.

WADE
That can't be right.

QUINN
What?

WADE
It says you're a Kromagg.

Arturo approaches.

ARTURO
What?

Wade points to a line of text. She reads.

WADE
"Access granted. Security systems disengaged." The only way that happens is if it scans a Kromagg.

QUINN
Why does it think I'm a Kromagg?

WADE
Beats me.

REMMY
The virus?

ARTURO
No. We would have already succumbed and died, remember?

REMMY
Not that one. The one from the Seer world.

Arturo pauses and thinks.

ARTURO
Perhaps. Let me suggest this. Mr. Mallory, take Miss Wells and try and get the main generator online. Rembrandt and I will see if the medical facilities can be used. We need to find out if this Seer virus is having any adverse effects.

QUINN
Okay, professor. Come on, Wade.

REMMY
You two be careful.

WADE
We will. Be careful too.

The four split up and head off in different directions. On the screen behind them, a new icon has appeared in one corner. It is flashing like a beacon.

INT. FUNCTIONAL KROMAGG BASE -- DAY

On an alternate earth, another Kromagg base picks up the beacon. A human slave stands at a console in a dark, gloomy command center.

HUMAN SLAVE
A communication has been received from Earth 002. The base has been reactivated.

A Kromagg approaches from the shadows. It stares at the human.

HUMAN SLAVE
Yes, all life on that world was wiped out. But the base is active. Kromagg life detected.

The human turns to the Kromagg. One eye has been gouged out roughly.

HUMAN SLAVE
Something has survived.
