i need a Good free antivirus ASAP

I have a REALLY bad virus on my computer. I had to purge the memory and reinstall windows, but it's still there. Now it sends the comp into a low energy mode like condition every 5 to 10 minutes but the computer's running. I've tested running music then letting it go into that condition, and i can hear the music, so it's running but without any contact with the monitor. AVG wont work, i cant start it and the tray icon cant contact the main application.

Don't try downloading something illegally while your computer is in that state.

If AVG doesn't work, it's unlikely anything else will be able to help. I suggest you save your files on a stick, and obliterate everything on your Hard drive and start again. I can't believe a virus could survive a complete format.

Yeah, very useful. But i dont live in an office, you know. They're completely worthless if you use your computer for entertainment. And i reinstalled vista. It's still screwed up completely. I'll call the idiots tomorrow. Hopefully, there wont be a dark vader style force choke ''accident'' over the phone. But you can never know... MUAHAHAHAHA! err, i mean, accident, yeah, accident...

why don't i like the feeling of this.... i think i know, someone only put the banned monkey picture on his avatar(or he did) to trick people into thinking he was banned, he's still classified as a lieutenant commander, ordinarily the rank would say banned as well

It's worthless for games too... I use windows because i need the compatability

you could use wine to emulate them but more recent games probably wont work
