What do you think??
Hello. I want to ask you your opinion about something...
Yesterday, at 3pm, two Brazilian guys entered a bank office in Lisbon... The office had 6 workers inside, and since it was only an office, it didn't even have money...
When the Brazilian guys entered and told the workers they were robbers, one of the workers fainted, and the robbers let him go.... After that, three other workers were left out. So, the two robbers wee inside the bank office with two hostages.... The police tried to get a deal, but they weren't able to... After a while, one of the robbers walked to the door holding one of the hostages and pointing her a weapon. The police shot him and his partner at the same time. One of the robbers died and the other one is in critical state in a hospital right now...
There are a couple of youtube videos here:
Now, some people think it was a brutality and all that, but I think it was appropriate... The woman was in risk, and the police had to choose between the lives of the hostages, or the lives of the abducters... I think they did a fair choice... What do you think??? There has been a lot of polemics here in Portugal due to that incident...

That's why I referred to it as Bank Office, and I mentioned that in my long long text...

Re: What do you think??
back on topic.
i believe it was appropriate. over here in canada, we're having issues with p[olice using tazers. several people have died from them, and the public want them banned, i believe that they're a better choice than guns, as you have a higher chance of not killing somebody with a tazer rather than a gun. i think it's the same principle. we're living in a very moralistic period of time, where the public wants to see absolutely no violence, and gets outraged when police are forced to use violence. i mean come on, if you were a cop, you'd just let the criminals do whatever they wanted?

Re: What do you think??
true...and, don't forget, cops also are living persons, with wives maybe, kids... and they know that others have them too. they know they'll have to shoot sometimes, to prevent that a family will have to miss their father, their mother or their brother.

Re: What do you think??
Depend, a cop can only be considered a villain if only shots without provocation, now a criminal, will be always considered a villain.
Re: What do you think??
i guess.we were told by the commander that we should never hesitate as all it takes is a single second of hesitation to kill you, and then that enemy soldier might then go on to kill people you know and care about.
