Age of Empires
Has anyone here ever played, or owns, the Age of Empires series? I recommend it.

Re: Age of Empires
XD I have the first one! Finally, somebody mentions an RTS game. I recommend Age of Empires among the best real time strategy games out there! No more button mashing mindless action, finally some major strategy involved game! AoE was my first RTS game. I also recommend as a strategy to create priests and war elephants. They're much more fun.
Other really good RTS games in my opinion are Empire Earth, Rise of Nations, and the Command & Conquer series. But we're not here to talk about that.
How many maps or missions does the demo come with?

Re: Age of Empires
Of what 1, 2, or 3?
There is a small set of missions for AOE 1. AOE2 has two different demos to download, which both have a training campaign and one map. AOE3 has quite a few demos with varying length campaigns and one random map each.

Re: Age of Empires
Well, HAD, excuse me, the first one. The CD is old and I haven't played it in a while. It's collected a huge scratch mark on the back probably due to the fact I was a young stupid kid who didn't know how to handle a CD when my dad wasn't awake to put it in for me XD
But yeah, I've only played the first one and it has been a long time ago. But I still remember most of the details. Priests 'assimilate' units to your side (though mine constantly were converted by two or three enemy priests), War Elephants are not good in major combat, and I rarely bothered much else than gathering resources when I first started playing. Then I played a little too conservatively with my resources, so that would explain why I rarely won any of the scenarios. I believe the first one has a campaign and a scenario mode. It also had a map editor I messed around with a lot, and made a giant battle that (at the time) my computer wasn't advanced enough to handle XD

Re: Age of Empires
Yeah, they are. They sort of leaked a design of a cover for AOE 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5

Re: Age of Empires
4 I believe is supposed to be the 1st and 2nd World Wars, and 5 is set in the future.

Re: Age of Empires
thats kind of screwed up.going from the 16 hundreds to 1914 and then 1935.plus the bit about the future is strange.

Re: Age of Empires
Yeah, but it is coming out seperately for each age, (eg. AOE1 is prehistoric, AOE2 was medieval). You can advance in technology in each, but can't adance like in that game
