Timeline: After Pillars of the Universe

The
universe had indeed been saved once again. Of course it had come with
heavy costs, but it was saved. Rivers looked around at the people on
his bridge... our bridge. They were all in this now. There was
something about it that changed a person, what these people went
through, what they sacrificed and most importantly, what they learned.

But
despite the expected elation of saving the universe, the energy just
wasn't there. Everyone stood, watching the viewscreen with an almost
morbid depression. That's why Rivers had decided on a new course and
heading. Glancing over, Dawn sat on the floor next to the command
chair, her legs crossed and her eyes simply following the streaking
stars of warp speed. Jean stood behind Rivers, periodically glancing at
a console, making sure that all systems were nominal. Breeana seemed
the most energetic of the bunch, standing behind Rivers with her arms
resting on the support railing in front of her. She seemed amazed more
than anything. This was probably natural considering that she had seen
the least of the action, hadn't experienced the void and the events that
had both changed and defined the new crew of the Darkwing.

Rivers
was suddenly snapped from his thoughts as his console beeped, signaling
that they were near their destination. Switching the controls back
into manual, Rivers paused a moment before disengaging the warp drive.
There was a slight lurch as the ship dropped out of warp and back into
normal space. A small grin managed to make its way on Rivers' face as
the brilliant looking planet came into view.

"Well," Rivers spoke
up, breaking the melancholy silence, "welcome to Serense, a most
exquisite planet, perfect for our purposes!" Rivers didn't have to look
to see the confused looks on everyone's faces. They had undoubtedly
been expecting some new universe ending mission or something. Not
today!

Dawn pushed up to stand, pacing a few steps
towards the screen. Steel eyes tried to take in everything with one
sweep before she turned back to Simon.

"I have not seen this planet. What is here?"

"It's a quaint little place," Rivers started,
addressing not just Dawn, but everyone on the bridge, "I was here once, a
very long time ago. It has an extraordinarily small population of
people that in essence, want to see that you enjoy yourself. In short,
we're gonna have a vacation!"

Rivers glanced back, a grin on his face as he looked at the bewildered crew.

"The only order once we arrive, is to have fun. We need it...desperately!"

"Simon, do you remember last time WE had a shore leave together?" Said Jean... "Like, one century ago, if I well recall?"

She looked again at the console...

"You know, back then when we were working with Paul and Mii?"

"I try not to..." Rivers said glancing over at
Jean who had a twinkle in her eye. "No no! It was nothing and you had
better remember that. You got me drunk and yeah...like I said... I try
not to..." Rivers' shifted his suddenly nervous gaze down at the floor
in front of him as he could feel the inquisitive eyes of the others
focused on his head.

"You keep saying that you didn't liked, but two
things: You can't be drunk with 1 romulan ale! Also your face was
pretty satisfied back then..." Was she saying with a smile... "But don't
worry, I shall not try to do that again... You surelly never were a
gentleman..."

Jean looked again at the console...

"So, Breanna, I heard this planet has some nice bars, wanna go party?"

At Jean's last remark, Rivers snapped his head
up, ready to retaliate, but thought better of it. Best not to embarrass
himself further, though it was ten ales, not one if he remembered
correctly.

She returned to her instruments and started singing in a very low tone...

"So, when're we ready for our little shore leave?"

Grinning a little, Rivers looked over to Dawn,
"this planet does have its oceans, but like you, I intend to stay away
from the beaches!" Rivers looked over as his console beeped. Tapping
in the proper commands, the ship took up a proper position above the
planet. Looking behind him, Rivers smiled, "we're here!"

Nobody
moved as Rivers kept looking at them. Cluing in that they weren't
taking the cue, Rivers motioned almost frantically with his hands, "well
go!" he said, an almost playful tone in the command, standing as he
spoke it. Waiting for the others to file out of the bridge, Rivers
tapped in his security code, locking the ship down until it was needed
by them again.

The last to exit the bridge, Rivers took one
glance back as the bridge shut down it's lights to conserve power.
Finally turning around, he entered the turbolift with Dawn, the doors
whooshing shut.

Rivers' eyes adjusted to the light
of the well lit and lush planet as the glimmer of the transported faded
away. Looking down, Dawn was at still at his side, her demeanor seeming
much brighter than it had in a while. The planet was indeed beautiful.
Brilliant trees lined the horizon and a cool breeze gently whisped
past their faces. Rivers knew immediately that this was a very good
idea. Looking around, accounting for the rest of the crew, Rivers
cracked a smile. "Welcome to Sensaya ladies and gentlemen, the most
beautiful resort not known by most of the galaxy!"

With that,
Rivers headed forward, leading their ragtag team towards a small wooden
structure that seemed to act as some form of "check-in." Entering the
building, Rivers looked around, a sign saying "Make Yourself at Home."
The small building was mostly open to the elements, a large deck with
tables and chairs was to their left.

"You guys take a seat,
I'll go see about getting ourselves some refreshments and a place to
stay," Rivers said, nodding towards the deck with the chairs.
