Odd?

I think something odd has overcome me, Flash trek broken mirror is the main reason I know all of you on this forum and this forum in General. Over the last 2 weeks I have been getting a seriously big urge to play the game so I have been and can't stop. I got over BM ages ago now I have been doing stuff I know won't happen like searching BM3 in google, Knowing I'm gonna find crappy Alpha's and Beta's but don't care, I played it anyway. I even plays Flash Trek Assault I never did Like assault and you name the BM game I have played in in the last week. I can name all the BM-BM related games I've played.

1. Flash trek broken mirror 1
2. Flash trek broken mirror 2 (Complete and In-Complete)
3. Flash Trek (First game)
4. Flash trek broken mirror 4
5. Flash trek broken mirror 3 (All alpha's and beta's)
6. Flash trek Delta Expanse (All I could find)
7. Flash-Gate (All I could find but couldn't get a good copy of the Beta-3)
8. Flash Trek Assault.
9. Scratch Project of something like flash trek. (Dunno why but it's cool.)

Anyway, if any of you are experiencing this then tell me and if you have any good links to the Beta-3 of Flash-Gate then I would like you to post it below.

LOL, I just played the entire original flash trek game last week. (was homesick)

Oh, and I don't know where flashgate is. :yawn: And I'm too lazy to look...

I get like that occasionally. Once enough time's passed, Flash Trek becomes refreshing and reminds you of the good ol days when things were simpler

i would play it again, but i always the same strategy of getting a nebula and then filling it with warp cores and selling em until i gut uber billions... i never was one for originality

But I'm usually overwhelmed with nostalgia after a few hours. It's like hitting your elbow in that perfect spot; it hurts and feels good at the same time.

I miss being a kid already. Now, I'm working my butt off! I worked yesterday from 15:00 - 23:00 and then I worked from 23:00 to 7:00. Yay, double shift. Oh, and I work again today, 15:00 - 23:00. And my boss denies his plans to kill me slowly...

Kids, don't be in a rush to get a full time job. It really sucks. :yawn: Goodnight...

and here i am still wondering if i should get a part time, in me next school holidays

If you're dieing for the money, go for it. If not, just enjoy your holidays!

True, it does. But, I feel like I'm turning into a workaholic. It's a good thing I'll be getting almost 2 weeks off of vacation. (I'll go on an epic foruming binge!)

I'll probably get another job, since they've started lowering my hours next month. IDK, but the scheduler will either give me more days, or loose half of me. Either way, I'm happy. (Gotta love my profession, plenty work.)

Anywho, the best advice I could give is to not let your job run your life. Because if you don't watch it, your employer will eat you. (In a bad way)

Well I loved your Version of Flash-gate, actually better than many other modded versions of BM I've seen. Whats the Flash-Halo all about?

Well, back in the day, we were going to make a Flash version of Halo CE

I'd say, many people would have played i too. But we kinda substituted that with Either BM2 or the upcoming Delta Expense

Well by that point, I had pretty much stopped doing Flash stuff as well, so it just never even really got to the planning phase

Well, if it wasn't a one man project, it would be much easier.

Ah, so 'many hand make light work'? But 'too many cooks spoil the broth'.

With the right structure and organization, a project runs much better with many people as opposed to a few, but of course it needs solid direction

Well, if BM3 were a community project, DW would obviously be the project leader. Basically, people could propose features for the game, and you would have to decided weather or not to implement them. Oh, and you would have to set up outlines of the tasks that need to be completed. Delegation, all of that fun stuff.

But, it's not as hard as it sounds. The main thing is to just make sure that everyone on the project writes code generally in the same way, so that's it's readable.

Something I learned is that Vex's code is very messy. I've no idea if he had some form of organization in mind or not, but it does seem very scattered

Well, I've never seen the code and may be able to make sense from it but he is right, More the merrier , although I imagine it getting quite frustrating

I have seen it too. Looks like he originally intended it to be readable by only one person, him.

Bugger! And some of the comments barely make sense.

So he's like the guy who created C++ ? Shame on him, shaaame.

I often found the coments he made (very rare actually), not explicit enough and he really hadn't in mind to share the code with anyone when he created BM... Or Started BM2 for that matters...

I think that's also what a lot of problems derive from in BM, thus probably why he never really bothered to look for the bugs, mainly because they'd be near impossible to find in that mess

Yep, you can, it would basically require re-writing BM from scratch though and that would be a hefty project in and of itself

Well there is such a thing as professional flash coders, however, if they did something like BM, then you'd have to pay for it and I'm sure we all don't want that
