What is wrong with this picture?

Yeah guys, this is gettin real bad and by getting, I mean is. This is an all time low, in fact we've never been this low since the forum first started and had no users. Besides, we can't keep our domain name if our activity dies.

Not in r/l but people here wouldn't know about me and my social group and alot of our in jokes.

However this is a different social group with different in jokes. See, it's the same thing. Also, a lot of the problem arises in new topics. Very few people make new topics except for me and I personally don't have the content of an entire planet. Things must be happening to people, interests, ideas, etc. Other people can make topics too you know

Well, I don't see any evil in this picture... I don't know if I'm in the same situation as you guys, but I'm on what is be called "exams season", and I'm atm making a huge project for Programing Languages and Information Sistems... Although I keep being one of those guys who keeps logged 24/7...

We're also in desperate need of active new users. We get new users, none of which are active and we've seen our older user base slowly trickle away

I've had exams, and after a bit more drunken debauchery I'll be back into full swing.

Yea when was the last time a really active member signed up??? And most of the active users are from vortors forum now thats going wayyyyyy back.

Ha ha. But yeah, we get new members some (obviously some months are better than others) but we really are lacking in the new and active departments. Part of it is we don't have anymore presence outside of this website. Before, people (lots of people) would join from VX Flash, but we had a presence there and we had BM3 which attracted them.
As of these past 2 weeks, we are formally part of the Blue Planet trafficshare system and w have gotten a few members from that, however, not active ones.

I have an idea. Everyone sticks up posters of the web address all over their town, especially where there is a high concentration of nerdy looking kids.

Call me dumb but whats the whole traffic share thing? ermm how about no maybe i do reccomend this place to nerdy people and i'll ask the lan gaming centre if i can get them to but a link on their web browsers

Trafficshare is best described as a bulletin board. You join it and you essentially can advertise on BP or its partners and in turn, we advertise them. But it's more than just an advertisement, we can join in discussion there, post sample (ie RP samples) and it can go vice versa, plus the weekly updates is the main way that we keep in contact.

COD has the same idea as Space Invaders. With a little better graphics, is all.

I love Space Invaders, I never could beat the first level though...

I'm playing COD:4 now but it's not my faviroute game i prefer rts games.

The only RTS I've played is Empire at War and Forces of Corruption (basically the same thing).

@Toa, I had this "updated" version of Space Invaders for PC, it was made by Activision, I never ever beat the crushing boss of the first level

I play COD and such games, but only as a way of socialising from time to time with a bunch of others on someone's PS3. And no, COD has more variety than Space Invaders.

As far as I'm concerned, it's those who play online, especially those who play against people they don't know.

You run around and shoot stuff. How much more variety is there to an FPS then to Space Invaders?

Different weapons, different maps, different enemy strengths, cumulative kill bonuses, different outfits, singleplayer and multiplayer usage, campaigns...

Space Invaders has:

Different maps, different enemy strengths, it has kill bonuses (ie destroy a mother ship, get an extra life) it doesn't have different outfits as your tank always stays the same (unless that changes in the upper levels) there are multi-player versions, however you have to actually be on the same PC (good old 98 games ) and campaigns are just "kill the baddies this way, now kill them that way," so in effect, again is summed up to just, shoot the bad guys.
