yes, and that guy has made $120,000,000 off of donations(If the end is coming, why does he want money to be donated...) This makes me think that all of this is a scam for money. But he's 90 years old, so why does he need all this money anyway?

Guys, guys, guys. Clearly you all didn't read the fine print closely enough. The REAL end of the world is on October 21, 6 months from now. Don't you understand? There's a long waiting period after the rapture (today) and the REAL end of civilization as we know it!

You know what I found most amusing about all of this? Is how this guy, claimed to be like super Christian, yet he obviously overlooked the passage of "no man can predict the time, only God knows the hour" sorta thing, basically stating, only God knows when the end of the world is gonna happen.

If I had my own radio station, I'd do it too just to see how much money in "rapture donations" (lol) I could get from the idiot Christians that think that you can put a date on the second coming. Note also how the idea of a "rapture" is not even in the Bible either.

What's really weird about it, is it's not just Christians. Like there had to be at least an equal amount of non-Christian's who were like "maybe the world really will end today."

But it really is a sad reflection on Christians, it just shows how far out of the teachings of the Bible they've gone and just how fantasized they've made it all. Like it's quite obvious none of them ever read scripture to see the passage of only God knows the hour. So...are they really Christians?

A Christian is simply a "follower of Christ," yes? Then you could look it at it many ways. Ultimately, predicting end times is inconsequential both to us and to God, it's Jesus' message of tolerance and forgiveness and salvation that matters most. Is whatever he says about no one knowing the end but God unimportant? Absolutely not, but it does not have the gravity as does, say, believing in him to be saved or to treat others as you would yourself. End times are not a core teaching here.

No, but it shows how easily swayed by big talk people are. Also, I dunno how it is around the rest of the world, but I know here the core teachings have essentially been lost. It's now more about activities, youth camps, drum lessons, music, fancy digital projectors and in all of it, it's simply a feel good session instead of basically preaching the core which is summed up to "we're all condemned to hell unless God saves us and there is nothing you can do about it." People don't like to hear that though, they wanna hear "if you're a good person and all fuzzy on the inside and you look for God, then you will be a good Christian and saved," and though there is a partial truth in there, there's a really important chunk missing from that (the most important really).
But like I said, I dunno what it's like around the globe for that sorta stuff, I can only speak on what's happening here.

There is a scientific and religious side to 'the end of the world'. The religious side is bullshit as is the scientiffic side. However the scientfic side is mroe plausable making people overlook the fact that its bullshit and therefore believing there gonna die.

Yeah, in theory, there's lots of ways the world could end (supernova, global warming to the extreme=ice age mk2, nuclear war etc)

We're due a hell of a lot of 'natural phenomenon'. We're due a Meteor Strike, Yellowstone erruption, a solar flare I believe and a polar shift which looking at what scientists have said is already or has already happened. The human race has survived almost 300,000 years of natural disaster its unlikely the insignificant '2012' will be any different.

Yeah, the magnetic poles have been changing, but it's supposed to take a few hundred years for them to reverse completely. But apparently, this isn't the first time it's happened

No aparently it happens every few thousand years. If it moves quickly then we can worry about our impending doom. However from the results of natural disasters over the past year and a half (since Haiti) looks to me like there moving slowly.

Interesting, this documentary I watched said once the poles start to shift it takes a few hundred years, not a few thousand

depends on the speed they move I suppose. If they moved at a speed that took just decades to change thats when the doomsday crap comes into play.

Yeah and apparently they can "snap" too, where they essentially snap and just flip. If that happens, all life basically dies.

Hehe, yeah, that sucks. The extent of my work outside is shoveling out the theatre. Unfortunately, there's no extra time alloted for that, I have to do that, PLUS everything else I do, gets really annoying because I already have too much to do because we had hour cutbacks meaning I don't get ushers on weekdays That and Nova Scotia has like 6 months at least of snow (usually more)

whatever happened to the time when you could say to a someone 'theres going to be lots of snow'and they'd celebrate. These days they'll complain about slow traffic.

i only like snow around christmas time. other than that it sucks.

It snowed on and off for around 4-5 months here which is unusual for Britain. Partly because of something to do with the gulf stream or some flow of air from the west.

I'm beginning to not even like snow at Christmas. Part of it's simply because it's never just snow, it's 3 feet of snow, mixed with ice and slush and temps of -20C

a few years ago our so called '2 week winter break' turned into a 2 month winter break. Which you'd think would be good but after 2 months of staying inside it is pretty boring. And I ran out of hot chocolate

Winter is too cold. Summer is too hot. Autumn gives you a cold. Seems the only nice season is spring.

Spring is too wet and squishy, but otherwise nice (if it's not cold that is)

its the middle. Not to hot not too cold. Yet spring has lost its 'vive' that it had when people talked about daffodils and spring lambs they now talk about how it will soon be summer and things will be too hot.
