The Skin Thread
Ok, so I meant to do this way earlier, but as per mostly usual, this thread is for discussing the new theme being worked on.
So before you all start with stupid comments, due note:
The skin is NOT finished and not even close to it at this point.
I'm aiming for a Sci-fi meets hot rod sorta look with colour. Last theme was good, just very dull and uninteresting.
Invision is hard and has lots of stuff to change, lots more than PHBB3.
I don't have a lot of time, so this is probably gonna take weeks, so suck it up you'll live.

Re: The Skin Thread
On the note of skin, I think we need an actual graphical logo besides just the text. An emblem or symbol or something
Re: The Skin Thread
Skins... a fixed sized, not an percentage.

Re: The Skin Thread
Yeah I know, it's mostly because it's the only way I could do some of this cool invisiony stuff
Re: The Skin Thread
Oh Well, as long as it looks cool.

Re: The Skin Thread
I have lots of piercings on my skin...
And this theme doesn't kill my eyes at least, incomplete though it may be. How hard is it to work with the Invision stuff?

Re: The Skin Thread
Well, there's some similarities to PHBB3, however, a lot goes under different names/classes. But on that note, almost everything is editable and there's much more sophisticated techniques you can use.
For instance, this here is the code that I've written/edited:
Now it's interesting to note that the other skins with PHBB3, when they were complete, took less coding than what I posted there and I'm not really that far into this skin

Re: The Skin Thread
I've never really played with doing anything abstract. TBH, I'm not completely sure how you'd make something like this background.
Re: The Skin Thread
Hey now, you can't just go ahead and put one in if you give us two to choose from. I vote for the first one.

I had the other one in for a while earlier, I need to see how they look as part of the skin
Re: The Skin Thread
What you change the banner back for, the blue one, is so much better, than the B&W one.

Re: The Skin Thread
Personally I prefer the black and white one, but it's the mature, moderated view of all the forum that avails itself to influence DW, don't you think?

It has to be one that's already there Philly, sorry, so it's either the blue lightning one, or the black and white one

Biatch, my vision is a perfect 20/20!
Black and white though, seriously. It just looks better on the background in spite of the smatterings of blue imo

Re: The Skin Thread
Yeah, I agree. I've been inclined to the black and white one from the get-go, but then I tinkered with the lightning and decided to put it up as an option just in case.
Re: The Skin Thread
Oh, I should mention I'm also gonna play around with this complicated method I found for allowing users to change the skin themselves. That's partly why this one has so much blue, so that way I can make yellow, red, green versions or something and see about making them options so if you don't like blue, you can choose red or something like that
