Its finially going....

The Computer i have, its crappy windows 2000, and its 20 year old components, its finially going, i got the blue screen of death, well not exactly, but it was close to it, it dumped all active memory, and i have gotten low virtual memory 5 times in the past day, its finially going and im not getting a new one....

Install Linux. It'll give your aging computer a second wind.

Better idea, get a new one, and build it from scratch. That way you'll save money and you can keep up with the pace of technology. 1990's components won't get you very far.

Yes... Downloading Windows 7 is VERY illegal. Please do it. Oh, oops, sorry, my keyboard isn't very good, the n ' and t keys didn't work there. Oh no, my mouse is also broken and so are the arrow keys. I guess I'll just have to post it as it is. Oh woe me.

(Or you could just buy the manufacturer version, the one that can only be installed on new PC's, it can often be found for much less than a full on windows 7 retail only CD)

And no, you're not getting anyone's money. I get 100 USD a month, a quarter goes to regular subscriptions like metaboli, a quarter (or maybe even half) goes to everyday purchases and the rest to whatever I need/is saved for something expensive I want in the future. Make your own money or ask your parents.

I would say they work, i wouldn't say "nice". I buy though the Outlet and get a good price. That how i got my $1200 laptop.

Ok, this is my position, and this is how sucky it is for me.

I have almost no way of getting money, my parents are spending their money on bills and food and they just bought $350 concert tickets so they are strapped for cash at the moment, i am to young to get a job legally, i dont have an allowence, i only get like $100 a year, and hell if im waiting 4 years to get a computer.....any sugestions?

Xubuntu has actually turned out to be a waste of time. I would suggest Lubuntu (a currently unofficial version of Ubuntu) is the best for low-spec computers in the buntu family.

WTF is a Buntu?

Ubuntu is an operating system, like Mac OSX and Windows XP, 2000, etc, except its not Windows. And if I interpret this correctly, Lubuntu runs faster than Windows.
