Awesome Covers

Have you ever listened to a cover and just said to yourself "man, that's really something!" and you didn't really compare it to the original because the cover stood out on its own? Here's a few in which I felt that way. And don't forget to post your own.

99 Luftballons by Nena makes for a really good punk song in my opinion. I really like this one.


This cover takes a shitty song (Kelly Clarkson) and makes it into something really special. The video is great too


James Labrie didn't completely butcher the song with his godawful voice and I don't like Dream Theater as a matter of principle, but it's goddamn heavy and it's got a good groove. Sent chills up my spine. One of their only covers that I like.


I'm not gonna justify this one. Just enjoy it.

A band called Goldfinger were on my recommendations list on last.fm, described as ska. I suppose these are them, but they are very punky as you said.
