Chrome OS (multiply choice if necessary)
Chrome OS
So, google finally released it. The cloud based computer is now a reality.
From what I've heard, all it is is an os where just about every app you use it web based, in the chrome browser.

I'd say it's kinda gay. Nothing beats a good ole program made in C++, but I guess google disagrees.
But hey, if it works, it works. Let's see how the games turn out.... Yeah, I don't think google thought too much about that...
note: You CAN jailbreak the thing quite easily. Still, if you want to go the linux way, why not just grab a mint or ubuntu disc instead? Makes no sense to me. Just looks like an easy way for companies to sell inferior hardware and run off with the dough.

Re: Chrome OS
You don't need an OS in the cloud, every computer has one anyway, and most programs are intercompatible apart from games.

Re: Chrome OS
Another thing with cloud-based apps is that you have to use the internet more (larger download), so your broadband bills may have to go up.
I don't mind Chrome OS. At least if it catches on, hopefully good improvements may filter into the wider linux world. Distros (peppermint & jolicloud especially) will have a hard time competing, but that's the least of my worries.

Re: Chrome OS
Well... It will improve a lot on technology and will also make older notebooks be reusable with newer software.
I would give it a shot... on a Virtual Machine...
And yes, I just don't install it as my main OS, because I praise games too much...

Re: Chrome OS
I'll just download the google chrome browser. See, there, I've tried it.

Re: Chrome OS
No it doesn't. And even if it did, it would be an oxymoron or hypocrisy because for it to make sense means it's logical, so to be logical to be illogical isn't logical. Follow me?
Re: Chrome OS
Yes, and I don't care, because I'm being dogmatic and illogical right now.
